genuinely one of my favorite games. prairie king killed some of my love for it though. hated playing that with a passion and attaching trophies to it was bs. almost as if the devs wanted to give a middle finger to people who like the game a lot and want to 100% it. terrible unforgivable choice imo. prairie king doesn't even function well to want to play it in the first place. it isgenuinely one of my favorite games. prairie king killed some of my love for it though. hated playing that with a passion and attaching trophies to it was bs. almost as if the devs wanted to give a middle finger to people who like the game a lot and want to 100% it. terrible unforgivable choice imo. prairie king doesn't even function well to want to play it in the first place. it is intentionally brutal/unfair and in stark contrast to the difficulty of the base game. its literally the only thing bad i have to say about stardew but it is possibly one of the most frustrating things i have ever experienced in gaming. stardew 10/10 prairie king 0/10 Expand

Simplemente de los mejores juegos q he jugado en años. Tendría que haber más juegos como este, y sobretodo más desarrolladoras que hicieran juegos con el cariño que está hecho este. Si no lo has probado, tienes que probarlo.

Audio: The sounds of each action you do whether it’s the pick axe or picking fruit from your garden is adorable and well designed.

Visuals: The visuals are perfect and it’s easy to tell someone spent a ridiculous amount of time on each thing that appears on screen.

Story: The story is cute and deep if you care to delve into it but you could also play and not even know there is one. It’s sort of up to how you want to play the game. Time: There is truly infinite replay ability and the day cycle really gives you a feeling of urgency and freedom to come and go as you please.

Worth the price? Yes. I’ve spent almost 1000 hours playing this game and will come back to it over and over again. It truly is a masterpiece and will remain in my top 10 games of all time.

There is no way to hate this game unless you have a personal vendetta against it. Everything it does, it does better than the games it takes inspiration from.

It's a love letter to video games. Also the PS4 version is perfect apart from one small menu bug. If you want to play it on a PC go play it there.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Stardew Valley is one of those games where I don't understand why I play it so much. Spending time growing crops, meeting the town people, and mining ore all sounds pretty boring but from the art style to the music Stardew has easily won of the nicest games I've ever played. I started Stardew Valley with a crap farm and a few seeds, but after 30 hours I have 20 animals, a huge house, a wife, and have gotten to the bottom of the mine, yet I still want to continue playing, and it's a game you can technically play forever. It continues to make me want to go back and do something else in the beautiful valley from going to the fair or fixing the community center. Feeling like a perfect version of Harvest Moon but better. If you're looking for a clam game to just play Stardew is perfect, it doesn't have the annoying waiting of animal crossing or any microtransactions that this game would have had it been made by a AAA studio. Some people may not like this style of game and that's ok but to me it's perfect. P.S there aren't any microtransactions in this game! Expand

there are days in the game where shops will open but no one will be in there making the fact its open meaningless.
Because of time systems in the game its hard to enjoy it in co-op because if you have to walk away you cant pause and lose time you could be spending earning money and setting up your farm.
And lastly I wanted to change my characters look because when I initially made them it was a joke and I didn't want to restart from scratch but the process to change your look is so convoluted and poorly explained that its not worth your time, like instead of just having a barber and cloths shop you have to befriend a wizard (which you can only talk to after opening another place that the game doesn't explain or gives clues on how to open) and even then after building up your friend ship you have to know to go behind a secret bookshelf.

I get tedium is part of these type of games but when you take the simple act of changing a characters look into a long ass process then I lose interest.
I have played MMO that allow you to change your look easier then this and at this point I'd rather do real farming. at least I wont need to befriend a wizard to change my shirt

Having said that, the most important thing I can say is that this is not a game for everyone - I am one of those people.

This game had me hooked up until what seemed like the latter third of the game. However, it seemed to lose its grip on me at that point, and there seemed to be a monotony to everything within the game by that point. This is unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected, as I tend to prefer far more fast-paced games than Stardew Valley. However, the game deserves high praise for drawing me in as much as it did.

If you enjoy games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon, I think you will find something very special here. However, if your usual fix involves more action, I can't say for sure that this game will worm its way into your heart. Still, with its extremely reasonable price tag, I would lean towards giving the game a try and seeing what you think.

One of my most favourite games of all time !!
A true spiritual successor to another favourite of mine (Harvest Moon) this game sees you inherit a farm from your now deceased grandfather and move to the town of Stardew Valley from the big city.

You are tasked with returning this farm back to its former glory and you can do this anyway you would like but I would say becoming well rounded and doing up all skills so you can get all of the unlocks to help you become the pillar of the community and get the most out of the game.
The usual foraging, resource collecting and wooing of a potential partner is all part of the process as in harvest moon though there is so much more within this game that has taken this to a much higher level of quality game than that franchise. Also add in the fact there has been lots of free content added as well as well as coop and you really will get your bang for your buck if you pick this game up. I even have it on my MacBook as well as PS4 and have put a lot of hours in on both versions.
10 out of 10 for me and a game that if you like this genre or as I said before the Harvest Moon franchise then there is a lot on offer to you in this game.

This game is an instant classic. I grew up playing the Harvest Moon games and this really brings me back to those times. So much to do and achieve. Although, I wish there was more to do end game after you've made all this cash, saved the community center and so on. Nevertheless, there are very few games where I've clocked over 150 hours. Worth your money if you're into this kind of game.

Stardew is definitely a gem. It takes elements from Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, adds a little retro Zelda-esque combat and mixes it all together to make an amazing package. Alongside much lengthier save times at the end of days, the interface issues are irksome enough to mar the special, very real sense of escapism Stardew Valley can so masterfully afford. Still, that escapism is so strong it’s impossible to ignore. [March 2016, p76]
