Had a blast with this when ported to the PS4 a few years ago. Before Episode 1: Racer was rereleased yesterday, it was the only Pod Racing fix on the PS4. I recommend this port for the simple fun.

An excellent port of the PS2 game with enhanced graphics, trophy support, and other features that take advantage of PS4 system features. The 1080p up-rendering doesn't radically bring the game's visuals back to life, but that's not a big deal anyway. It's about the gameplay and the PS4 port still delivers.

High-speed, podracing action is back. This sequel admittedly doesn't do too much

High-speed, podracing action is back. This sequel admittedly doesn't do too much different outside of giving gamers more content and having a new emphasis on vehicular combat (you can now K.O. you opponents by destroying their podracer), but it's hard to complain when the racing is this good.

Excellent track design and a nice selection of racers are sure to keep you coming back to tackle all of the game's challenges. Setting best times, completing tournaments with different characters, and even (locally) duking it out with a buddy are all distraction the game has to offer. While perhaps not having the most robust selection of modes, the game manages to keep you hooked thanks to just the all around solid gameplay. Plus, it's Star Wars. So that helps.

Really the biggest issue the game has is that it doesn't always offer the best challenge. Most races will fly by without giving you a fight. I found that only some of the later races in the tournament mode actually made me worry, outside of one map that was actually downright brutal.

Yet, even if it won't always test you in the traditional races, objectives like setting records are sure to give you a challenge if you need one. It's minor flaws don't detract from the fact that is an excellent racing game. One that makes great use of an exciting concept from the Star Wars universe. Any fan should check it out, be they fans of racing or the films.

I just played Episode 1 Racer. And Racer Revenge is a much better game. I have all the trophies for both games. Well I need one more for Episode 1 Racer.. So the reason this game is so much better is because of the unlockable characters. You can unlock Darth Vader and Darth Maul. The presentation is better too. Boost in this game is simple unlike Episode 1 Racer.. I hate boost in thatI just played Episode 1 Racer. And Racer Revenge is a much better game. I have all the trophies for both games.
