    so i bought this game i think some time after it was released only because it was really underrated and nobody talked about it that much
    this game is such a blast they just give you the main mission that you must do to finish the level and some side missions but they are optional they added a little mini base before every starting of a level so you can talk a little bit and then they    so i bought this game i think some time after it was released only because it was really underrated and nobody talked about it that much
    this game is such a blast they just give you the main mission that you must do to finish the level and some side missions but they are optional they added a little mini base before every starting of a level so you can talk a little bit and then they throw you into a huge map give you a pistol a sniper and a side arm of your choice and that's it go to what ever you want you can go guns blazing and alert everyone that your here or stealthy and try to kill them one by one i prefer the silent way and they did improve the stealth take downs from the third game and now you can parkour and climb things not like assassin's creed but like normal climbing and they did add suppressed ammo for the sniper rifle but still the welrod is the only suppressed pistol not counting dlc and its **** you can barely point with it and most of the time miss the head that's that other then that they didn't change much from the third game just graphics and some improvements here and there oh they made the character a little more stronger i guess because there is a level where you find an rpg and just wreck some tanks but yea mostly the same like the third one

    These missions last anywhere from 20 minutes up to an hour depending on how you play and if you choose to ignore the optional stuff..
    It took me around 7 an a half hours to get to the credits…
    There are various difficulty settings here that not only effect the damage enemies do, but also affect how sniping works.. so for those 360 no scope pros, sniper elite will give you a great challenge as you calculate drops and wind…
    I’m not one of those people…
    You have the option to find a vantage point, pull out your binoculars, mark your targets and pick them off..
    But with too much noise they’ll be able to triangulate your position, so it’s important to move...
    sneaking through the shadows and bushes…
    calculating and planning every move…
    sneaking up behind enemies and stealth killing them
    Holding your breath, lining up the shots for a slow mo x ray vision kill
    Or you can play like I did and throw all caution to the wind…
    Sniping people without a care who hears or sees you… pulling out your assault rifle if too many enemies surround you...
    loot their bodies for more ammo, medkits, and grenades... swap weapons…
    just having a blast destroying enemies on these maps and completing objectives
    My favorite part about this game is that it doesn’t punish you if youre not about that sniper life..
    You can play this game any and every way you want...
    And the maps change up enough to keep the game feeling fresh... it never drags out…
    the overall campaign though feels like its lacking a bit of knowledge...
    the story feels like no effort was put into it... and the most interesting possible target for a world war 2 game, adolf hitler, was reserved for pre orderers.. So if you’re a smart gamer and actually wait for reviews... you don’t get the only target whos even a little interesting…
    Its going to run you about $10 in the playstation store, so I highly recommend you make a statement by waiting for a sale before you pick up sniper elite 4 and its dlc…
    This is a really fun campaign, but this greed level from the publisher is too high.
    There isn’t just single player here though...
    You can also play co-op in the story, survival mode, or scout and sniper mode... as well as play competitive modes online...
    These modes are about as fun as youd think a bunch of snipers running around a large map trying to snipe eachother could be..
    High paced and full of action... just kidding... nothing happens... hardly anyone plays... waste of the developers time…
    Sniper Elite 4 isnt a shooter oyu buy to play online.. This game shines in its open sandbox styled missions
    I just wish these missions were a bit more interesting

    This was my first SE game that i have played out of the series. At the beginning i was very impressed with what i was presented with, but overtime it got repetitive and boring to the point where i went in and did the main missions and got out. At first i did the side missions, but doing that didn't last long considering all i had to go through to do it.     Likes:
    -I LOVED the slow motion x-ray kill camera. I have never seen that in a game and was pretty awesome to see.
    -You have a lot of cool ways of killing your enemies i.e. mines, traps, melee attack, using environmental objects, etc.
    -Ranking up is what made me want to continue the game. After i beat the game i ended up being a Staff Sergeant Mark 3.
    -Doing missions in a variety of locations was nice too as seeing the same things over and over again can wear on a player.

    Dislikes:
    -A lot of times when i would shoot an enemy they would fall down, but instantly get right back up as if they were never shot.
    -You move REALLY SLOW when you are crouched. it is either too slow or if you wanted to go faster you would have to sprint and if you were to sprint the enemy would investigate the noise of your footsteps. There is no happy medium.
    -You are not able to hurdle over some environmental objects i.e. fences.
    -Looting a dead body takes WAY LONGER then it should. It takes about 3-5 sec.
    -I wish the things you collected in the previous mission carried over into the next one as you have to re-collect everything i.e. mines, bandages, med-kits, TNT, etc. However you can adjust your player load out before a mission, but only to a certain extent.
    -The game does get boring after awhile because all i was really doing was sniping hundreds of enemies which got old after awhile because at first i would try and see how i could take out my enemies whether it be traps, stealth, etc, but after awhile it becomes repetitive to do that over and over again so i just started sniping everybody. Even the x-ray kill camera couldn't keep me entertained as i would skip that part as i got closer to the end of the game.
    -Trying to do stealth in this game is hard. I tried going an entire mission with doing just stealth and that didn't work out as i was either spotted or this game isn't really suited for stealth, hence why it is called Sniper Elite.

    At first i was going to give this game a 9/10 because of how awesome it was in the beginning, but over time that rating dropped to an 8/10. After giving more thought into the rating i should give this game i decided on 7/10 just because of it being repetitive and boring as you progress through, but don't get me wrong this game does have it's good moments.    … Expand

    The Sniper Elite series was starting to become rather stale but this fourth installment brings much-needed innovation with its large and well-designed open world maps. A massive improvement from Sniper Elite III.

    I got a chance to play because of PSplus. I must say Sniper Elite 4 is much better than I was expected. It is definitely one of the great stealth action TPS games out there. Enemy AI is very smart. Sound mark idea is superb. COOP with friend is fun. Kill cam is awesome. Every campaign gives us freedom to complete it the way we want. Shade also helps camouflage. Shooting sniper rifle, youI got a chance to play because of PSplus. I must say Sniper Elite 4 is much better than I was expected. It is definitely one of the great stealth action TPS games out there. Enemy AI is very smart. Sound mark idea is superb. COOP with friend is fun. Kill cam is awesome. Every campaign gives us freedom to complete it the way we want. Shade also helps camouflage. Shooting sniper rifle, you will have to check wind and distance (but you can use aim assist if you don't like this aspect). The game has depth learning. Autosave is awesome too.

    However, the game is not really real stealth game but more like semi-stealth game. It is not like you can do all objectives sliently. It is close to impossible to do so. On the other hand, the game emphasize on "Kill without being pinpointed" Meaning enemies will often alert of your actions but they would not find you because you keep moving and kill other guys. It is not my ideal stealth game, but I can understand the concept. However, I hope the game really be true stealth instead. Throwing the rock, or whistling should only alert enemy who hear it, not the whole group. Why there is no flash bang and smoke bomb, and Why soliders keep moving all the times ? It is unrealistic, some soilders should stand guard on the positions too.

    Moreover, story is also very bad. I rarely see the game that has terrible story to this degree. It is just so boring to the point I skipped all npc talks. Campaign is a little short (only 8 missions, which the time you complete all of them should be around 12 - 16 hours) . Graphic is old but acceptable. Mutiplayer is fine but nothing unique. Character can't swim, for a 2017 game, seriously ??

    In sum, I like the game very much, but it is still far from perfect stealth game. I plan to buy Season pass to get more 4 missions but the original price is very steep (35 usd) so I will wait for the sale. Anyway, If you like stealth genre, like Metal gear V, then maybe you will like this game as well.    … Expand

    Quite disappointing after a few hours of gameplay. The mechanics are a bit clunky on PS4. The story and the writing is really bad, you don't care about any of the characters in the game. Even though you're playing as a sniper, not enough good maps, interesting locations or ways to kill. Ending was anti climactic. Generally would not recommend as the game is quite boring, unless you're aQuite disappointing after a few hours of gameplay. The mechanics are a bit clunky on PS4.     I very much enjoyed this game. I played it mostly stealthy, and found the process of spotting enemies with your binoculars and then tagging them very satisfying.
    The end of the game felt a bit abrupt too me, but I think they did that to encourage you to buy DLC. An it is a bit of a shame that most of the weapons are locked away behind DLC as well.

    At first I thought it is only about sniper but this is not true. What makes this game amazing for me is its online. You can play camping with your friends and in your own way. You want to sneak and play it as stealth game TOGETHER. Or you can to enter a gun fight with a Full auto smg. Or you can take them out using snipers. The freedom in this game is amazing and the more amazing is thatAt first I thought it is only about sniper but this is not true. What makes this game amazing for me is its online.     I was really surprised when I saw the low user score when I got here because I am really enjoying SE4. It is a great stealth game and a super competent shooter. It really reminded me of MGS5 TPP in some ways, of coarse not in the narrative sense but more from a gameplay loop sense. SE4 isn't an open world game but it might as well be. Every mission you are put in a relatively large areI was really surprised when I saw the low user score when I got here because I am really enjoying SE4. I spent around 2 hours on the second area just because I was having a blast doing all the extras. It's not all sunshine and rainbows though. There are flaws and really questionable AI design, but I still truly believe this game is great. You can definitely tell it's a lower budget game but it's easy to see that the developers put a lot of effort in making this a decent stealth military shooter. Who doesn't like shooting at Nazis and watching the bullet rip through their fascist faces? I know I do! The bullet cam is just as good as it was in SE3 and although I could totally see why someone would get tired of watching it but I don't. It doesn't happen every time you shoot and you are free to turn it off completely if you so desire. Bottom line, SE4 is a great low-budget game and I seriously don't regret the $60.00 spent as long as Rebellion continues to support SE4, fixing and adding things. You should definitely check this game out. I SWEAR to you it is NOWHERE near as bad as some of the other user reviews say it is. They are probably CoD fans that hate every game you can't wall run on :-). I kid I kid. Seriously though, check it out. If you feel better waiting until price drops that is definitely your prerogative, but sooner or later you should try it.… Expand

    Sniper elite 4 is a great game with great graphics.

    i have finished the main campaign and i enjoyed it.

    i would recommend you get this game.

    But the only bad thing about this game is the multiplayer because no one ever plays it.

    I too am surprised by the low scores. I haven't come across any glitches yet. Instead, I am having a lot of fun coming up with creative ways to accomplish missions. The combination of stealth, close-in combat and sniping just works for me. I started off playing on Normal, but quickly switched to Hard. So far, it's all joy.     However, with that being said, I find that    I had seen that there were a lot of unnecessary low scores, without any damn rhyme or reason as to why there was a low score given, which is frustrating to be honest... So, I figured I'd share my opinion on the game. As a sniping and stealth game, this game is god damn awesome. I loved the second game, but I didn't like the third one as much.

    However, with that being said, I find that SE4 is a blast! The option to go stealthy, guns blazing, the awesome signature killcams, the difficulty customization options... It's something fresh from a lot of these shooters we got now. The story is alright, I've only done about 4 missions so far, but the gameplay is well done! The campaign is entirely playable in COOP this time around, which is great and works really well! The PVP multiplayer is alright, much like other games, it's no AAA shooter multiplayer, but it's something to do while you take a break from the Story. Also, the COOP aside from the campaign COOP, is great as well! There's is Survival, and Marksman, Survival being up to 4 players, and Marksman being 2 players (one person spots, while the other snipes). I hadn't had a chance to try out the Marksman mode yet, but I did play a game of survival and it's probably what you'd expect it to be- survive a certain amount of waves of enemies. If you can grab some friends, or maybe join up with some strangers online, Survival can be really fun.

    One thing I'm not too fond of is that your character level is shared across all game modes, so it's one unified character level. I prefer having one level for PVP multiplayer, and the other for Single Player/COOP BUT this time around the game offers skills every 5 levels, where you get to choose between two skills, so I guess this way makes sense. Honestly, if you're looking for a game to pass time by, or have been wanting a good sniping game, this is it. It's got stealth, action, customization, ranking system, and multiplayer... well worth the money I'd say. Compared to its predecessors, this game is a vast improvement, and the levels offer a sense of choice in that you get to tackle every objective/side objective as you wish, in any order. It's very similar to the style of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. If that sounds fun to you, imagine having a friend to join you on the mission, having either of you'd stick together in an all out assault or stealth mission, or even splitting up with separate or the same play style. So... this game from me gets an 8, but unjust and unexplained reviews brought the games score down unnecessarily... It's a great game.    … Expand

    As a big Sniper Elite fan, I'm actually really surprised at how.... almost 'bored' I am with this game, and I'm only up to the 4th mission. It feels a little uninspired to me. I really wish they focussed on improving all the things wrong with the previous games (AI, character movements etc) instead of just making the maps larger. Yeah thats right i never played sniper elite 1 or 2 but i did play the 3rd game and i wasnt really impressed. The x ray cams were amazing to watch but aside from that i was mainly bored. When i played this game though i actually had a betterOh sniper elite 4.... what can i say? In my opinion its an improvement over sniper elite 3 but of i never really was a huge fan of the series anyway.     This is up there with one of the best games I have ever played. Its not often I feel compelled to complete all the 'non essential' objectives, but this game has me doing it on every map.

    The mechanics and default controls are great, and hunting down the enemy and patiently waiting for the best shot is very satisfying.

    This is the best sniper game ever made! This x-rays, graphics, game looks very nice and work in 60fps. What we can want more from a game like that? For every sniper fan this game will be AWESOME. I bught limited edition and its worth it! Its much more interesting than For Honor for example. Great multiplayer and hard single-player.

    This is, hands down, the best and most complete title in the Sniper Elite Encyclopedia. I would venture to say that the other titles in the catalog are 2-3 steps down from Sniper Elite 4. Rebellion brings us something new, exciting and the replay value is one of the best I have seen in 10-15 years. Rolled out in Sniper Elite 4 is the Co-op mode which really sets it apart, in my opinion.This is, hands down, the best and most complete title in the Sniper Elite Encyclopedia. I would venture to say that the other titles in the catalog are 2-3 steps down from Sniper Elite 4. Rebellion brings us something new, exciting and the replay value is one of the best I have seen in 10-15 years. Rolled out in Sniper Elite 4 is the Co-op mode which really sets it apart, in my opinion. Set in World War II - Italy encompassing the Mediterranean Sea. You even have the Sicilian Mafia to contend with!

    The Devs pulled out all the stops and bring home the best game in the Franchise. I purchased the Sniper Elite V2 (what seems like 10 years ago) for PS3, I believe? And continued with Sniper Elite 3, which wasn't for me (played Zombie Trilogy, as well) but this one is phenomenal. Take Far Cry/Ghost Recon-Wildlands/Battlefield Bad Company 2 (if you can't tell, I really think this game is solid and Rebellion took it to another level. My first "10" Review since in/around 2017.

    If you are a newcomer to the Sniper Elite series, no need in playing the others (unless you are itching at the bit) but this one is, by far, the best in the Series.

    The Deluxe Edition is the way to go, you get everything (all the DLC), Additional Missions (including the "Target Fuhrer" Expansion where you are taking out Hitler) and the Season Pass (which is loaded). There remains an active Multiplayer and Co-op Community, which is impressive for a game coming up on two (2) years since release.

    Kudos Rebellion on a getting it right, really right!    … Expand

Basically played through the first 3 missions without much of a break and had to wrestle myself off the PS4 to go to bed at about 2am before being able to finish the 3rd mission. Gameplay and interface are very smooth, intuitive and easy to learn.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is a slow burner and I'm growing to appreciate the differences between this and SE3. I would have rated this a classic and more of a draw from other 3rd person tactical games but for a couple of little things missing that break the immersion. I want this franchise to be so much more given the period.

    1. The ability to adjust the HUD, in particular to remove the crosshairs for a smaller dot to enjoy those impressive graphics,
    2. To be able to switch shoulder - it's almost a given with some developers that this is necessary in a 3rd person game for your character to be able to 'check the corners' when scouting around walls, through doorways etc.
    3. The animations themselves - the weapons and Fairburne's character appear a little disproportionate. The 1911 and Grease Gun look huge in his hands, where his head looks tiny for his body, unless he's been comfort eating since Africa.
    4. Weapon modifications - to be able to switch different scopes or rely on iron sights. To add a supressor to a Sten... etc

    If these were incorporated into the next installment, the game would be close to perfect.    … Expand

    Fun to play for a week. Then its just repetively painful. Slo mo damage is the best thing in the game by a mile. Good if your sick for a week. Graphics could be a bit better

    Wow just wow I really want to give this game a 9 or a 10, but I mean seriously I have been playing these games since the first one and I have to say when I started playing the game I noticed it felt exactly like the first **** 3 installments I mean I really do like the game, but I have to say one thing to rebellion spice things up a little.

    I played through the campaign in 6 hours it was easy but very good I liked the story very much but the multiplayer is very different its very hard to get into lobbies in any mode accept no cross and if the host quits there is not a host migration it ends the game and it counts as a loss

However the developers have kept the same sense of fun. The various types of kill provide a challenge and the accompanying cut-scenes never fail to amuse. I played scenarios where I did most of the mission without killing anyone. It was heart-pounding fun to slip in between patrols, throw rocks to lead guards away from doors I needed to get into, leaving traps in remote locations to be set off to draw enemies away from my location. All of it fun and seemed very legit.

    For those of you who played SE3, you'll discover right away that your favourite trick no longer works reliably. Remember how you'd come up on 5 guys, and you'd throw rocks to pull them one at a time to your location and kill them all? Yeah, well here is the bad news. These boys have learned to count. When one of their group goes missing, they notice and start looking for him. Yeah, enjoy that. :)

    Storyline was so-so. Held together by a fairly thin thread it will get you through, but that's about it. Mostly this game is about tactical scenarios that you need to solve.

    Combat system is excellent except for one minor flaw. Whoever thought that making the 'pick up the body' key the same as 'punch the guy next to you' key did not get into a fight with multiple opponents. A number of times I'd take down guy one and try to hit the second guy, only to have my character pick up the first body instead. I recommend changing that key right off the start. The only other complaint I'd have about it is how godlike you are in close combat. I've killed 4 guys in hand to hand without getting killed on the second hardest level.

    Which brings me to a very, very cool part of the game. Realistic mode. They decided to put in a realistic mode in the game. All your superpowers are basically gone. No minimap, no detailed info on the camp, no automatic gun site adjustment for distance and wind. All gone. All I can say is good luck. Be prepared for many, many heart pounding moments.

    All in all, a good game if you like the genre and an amazing game if you're into stealth games.    … Expand

    So I was quite hyped for this game, as it basically looked like the latest hit man game but much more sniper oriented (duh). However, while the game is well made and quite fun, it is SO REPETITIVE. As a result it gets boring quite fast, probably after the first mission. I would recommend playing that at a friends house and you have basically played the whole game.     some may like this but any game that has this many micro transactions doesn't deserve a decent score. if i have to pay for weapons that should come with the game.... then its a NO. this game is just exactly like the others but it costs money to get rifles.... rifles that should have been in the game in the first place ... stupid

    Gameplay is fun. But so repetitive. I enjoyed the game from start to finish because ı loved the gameplay but nearly all missions are same. Story is not important in the game.

But eventually, I had to stop playing it due to how annoying the noise was playing the game (and through fear of my PS4 overheating). Luckily I now have a PS5, so was able to download and play it there instead.

    So Sniper Elite 4 continues the World War 2 theme (despite Sniper Elite V2 setting up the Cold War next, not that I'm complaining), and is now set on a series of fictitious but beautiful Italian Islands. Sticking with Sniper Elite 3's open level design, the levels are pretty and pretty big, with objectives well-spaced, with a decent amount of enemies without being too overwhelming. A risk of this is that in Sniper Elite 3, whilst the open levels were fun to play and allowed for strategy more than linear levels, the levels were forgettable and game narrative was weak. Whereas Sniper Elite V2 had a linear world design which meant a more enclosed and tense syle of gameplay, less ability to play stealthily, and a nicer direction in terms of set design.
    That being said, Sniper Elite 4's levels are pretty (Italy), and fun to play. Whilst there are no stand out levels like there were in Sniper Elite V2, all the levels blend together into an enjoyable experience.

    Something else to mention is each level (after the tutorial levels) there's now pre-levels where you talk to allies and make a call on a radio. I'm not sure the point of these, they feel out of place, and the dialog isn't worth the time.
    The map finally has a zoom option as the levels are so big it's hard to see things otherwise. I kinda wish the zoom worked more like other games (l2/r2 to zoom in and out. Just cycling through square gets annoying if you press one too many times

    SE4 keeps the much-improved controller layout from Sniper Elite 3 (scope aim L2 and sprint L3), and it now has co-op multiplayer.
    Searching corpses takes longer which I'm not a fan of, but it's not game-breaking as there's a fairly decent amount of ammo around so you don't need to search every body.
    There's actually an abundance of bullets in Sniper Elite 4, which I was thankful for. In previous games you really had to save every bullet which meant gunfights with a lot of enemies were a nightmare. Conserving ammo is good for a true stealth game, but some gunfights were unavoidable scripted missions in previous games. This time around there's only 1 or two big gunfights and I didn't run out of ammo once. However silenced ammo is rare, and so for a lot of kills, you're still going to need to rely on sound masking and close-ranged kills. I think this is fair.
    Sniper Elite 4 doesn't seem to have many opportunities to sound mask. So this meant I spent the majority of the game with the silenced pistol instead of the sniper rifle, I also didn't realize there was an option for switching to silenced sniper ammo until a few levels in, but there are so few silenced bullets that you can only save them for situations you cant approach closely.

    I'm sad Sniper Elite 4 still omits the cover mechanic that existed in Sniper Elite V2. Whilst the game is still fun to play without it, I really enjoyed it in Sniper Elite V2 and had hoped for its return.

    SE4 also keeps manual saves and loads in addition to checkpoints which is much appreciated after the frustrations of Sniper Elite V2's few-and-far-between checkpoints. However within 15 minutes of playing SE4 the auto save put me in the middle of a death scene, and so anytime I restarted checkpoint I was imminently dead. Then later in the game an auto checkpoint save put me falling off a cliff so anytime I reloaded checkpoint I'd fall again. It'd be nice if the auto checkpoints didnt save when you're about to die, or only occurred if you didn't die in the next 30 seconds. Another reason to take advantage of manual saves which I took full advantage of from that point on.

    This time around there's wall-climbing mechanics. The game adds more rooftop traversal than in any previous game, allowing for climbing ladders, and jumping between balconies and rooftops, making the game feel much more like assassins creed or hitman than before.

    Something new in SE4 is bullet range adjustment. Now you can adjust the range of your sniper rifle for shots. I played with this in the first level, but then realized you can't really aim past 200 meters as the empty lung shots don't give you the red crosshairs past that point anyway so it's nearly impossible to make the shot regardless. I'm not sure I like this change but after setting the range on 200m I didn't bother changing it again, as it's fine for 100m shots too, and with the empty lung shots you are pretty much guaranteed a bullseye anyway.    … Expand

    Decent release of Sniper Elite franchise. Best until now. Playing on PS4 was painful because of really terrible frame rate, but on PS5 with 60FPS update quite good game. Authentic difficulty is nice, but AI is bad so it's easy to trick enemy!

    Sniper Elite 4 is JUST AWESOME.

    One moment you could be sniping nazis from 150m away and the next you are engaged in close combat in narrow streets with your smg, laying traps trying to outsmart them.
    This game is not only about looking through a scope, but sometimes you need to go rambo so to find the strategies to minimize those rambo moments....this is what makes the game so fun.

    The levels are also highly replayable with lots of secrets and achievements. Just up the difficulty and at it again. I bought all the DLC involving extra levels and I can tell you it was worth it
    There was even a trophy for sniping the furhers balls off! Needless to say: challenge ACCEPTED. lol

    I had a blast with this game, hundreds of hours of honing my sniping to perfection, learning to place traps at the best places, and how to outsmart the nazi when the **** hit the fan.
    It has been very rewarding. I think many people will miss the finer aspects of this game unless they treat themselves to the higher difficulties, they really add the spice called realism.

    Final word. If you have found enjoyment in any previous SE game (or other sniping games), or just like a challenging strait up action fest then look no further. This game is for you.
    If multiplayer is more your thing, maybe you should go back to BF. SE4 multiplayer is enjoyable (at least coop) but not its strongest asset.

    9/10 -Sniper Elite in its finest form. Buy it!    … Expand

    Decent sniper simulator on authentic difficulty, the real faults of the game are mostly the visual fidelity in the distance, on PS4 Pro it just looks very poor, and of course weapon selection.

    (Not directly related to this review, but I would enjoy if Rebellion would take what they know and apply it to a modern setting in the future, as there are tons of modern rifles that are fun to shoot)

    This may end up being one of the most underrated games of the year. It is a very well made game that is a lot of fun to play. Essentially what happens is, you’re placed on a map and your given objectives to complete.     What I really like about this game is the game doesn’t spawn new enemies so if you go through and pick people off. Eventually, there will be no one left on the map. I really enjoyed playing that way, one because it ultimately makes it easier to accomplish objectives and secondly it’s fun to kill people in this game. The shooting feels good.

    The game is called Sniper Elite so obviously, Sniper Rifles are the primary weapon. Now if you’re like me where you like shooting games but don’t care for sniping you don’t have to worry. Something about this game, Sniping is a lot of fun to do. Now I do think I need to be completely honest, I played this game on easy. On the harder difficulties, you have to take into account bullet drop physics, wind and other Physic based mechanics. That’s too hard for me to comprehend so I played on the easiest difficulty where I could line up the reticle, fire and it was a headshot.

    Where this game differentiates itself from any other shooter is its X-Ray Kill Cams. If you’ve played any of the new Mortal Kombat games, you’re probably familiar with the X-Ray moves. It’s a special move where the game zooms into a character, switches to the X-Ray vision and you get to see the bones break and organs pop. This game has its own version of that but with shooting.

    So you can go for a headshot and when you pull the trigger, time slows down and then the camera follows the bullet. When the camera arrives to the person you are shooting, you watch it go through their body so if you go for a headshot, you may see the bullet go through the eye socket or through the top of the head. Maybe if you go for an abdomen shot, you can watch the bullet travel through the intestines or stomach. My personal favorite shot is the testicle shot, I don’t think I need to explain what that is. You can turn off the X-Ray Kill Cams if that sounds unnecessary but its dumb fun. As a matter of fact, by the end of the game, I was thinking about turning it off because I was sick of seeing them.

    I do want to mention quickly the other weapons that you carry. You also have a secondary weapon which starts out as a Tommy Gun. I never switched my secondary weapon at all but that’s because I like the idea of the Tommy Gun. It has a ton of history, I know most of it is on the bad side of history but I still like to honor that history in some weird way. The third weapon is a handgun, you start out with a pistol that does no damage but eventually you do unlock a Revolver. Those are always my favorite video game handgun. It’s like having a mini shotgun. Anyways, the shooting in the game is solid. Even though this is a Sniping game, the shooting feels really good.

    As I said at the beginning of the entry. This game is likely going to go down as one of the most underrated games of 2017. People aren’t going to talk about this game but its a lot of fun. Plus you get to kill Nazi’s. Who doesn’t want that?    … Expand

    A great third person game, the stealth is amazing and the moment to moment gameplay is absolutely fantastic. A great adventure from start to finish, although the story and characters are less than satisfactory. Definitely worth your time to experience this game.

You can move freely in the levels and do your tasks your own way (a lot of options) and in any order. Smooth controls and movement. The beautiful environments and kill cam make it really enjoyable to play either.

    This game is not so fun. The AI is very stupid, its very easy to get pass the enemies, the story is kinda lame, not very interesting,. The stealth mechanics are ok but not very polished. the killcams are very good tho. This game is not bad, but its not good either, its just ... boring.

    I were playing Sniper Elite 2 on PC and i liked it, so, when i saw this one in the PS Plus list i thought that i need to play this part too.

    First impression was rather good and i passed 2 mission very fast, but up to the half of the single campaign i've decided to delet the game and do not go through to the end.     Sniper Elite is good, old school fun. A very straightforward game, you are the sniper, sniping people from across the map. That's it, for the entire game, even the last mission is nothing much more than go here and shoot this. Which in my opinion isn't a problem at all, I love games like this, focused on nothing but the gameplay. The sniping in this game is fantastic, the X-RAY system isSniper Elite is good, old school fun. A very straightforward game, you are the sniper, sniping people from across the map. That's it, for the entire game, even the last mission is nothing much more than go here and shoot this. Which in my opinion isn't a problem at all, I love games like this, focused on nothing but the gameplay. The sniping in this game is fantastic, the X-RAY system is always good fun, I just wish there was a bit more too it. The biggest issue with this game is the repetition, which there is just way too much off. Every single mission is essentially the same, whereas in Sniper Elite 3, there was at least some kind of substance too each level. Also, for some reason, there have been changes made too the gameplay, like the removal of sniper nests. Which in my opinion, is the biggest misstep they could have made. Why remove SNIPER nests, in a game called SNIPER ELITE. It makes absolutely no sense, and the game absolutely suffered as a result. It feels like you have FAR less opportunity for long range sniping in Sniper Elite 4, versus all other entries in the series. This game feels MORE like Metal Gear Solid or Assassins Creed, than a proper Sniper game. The game wants you too be more up close and personal this time around, and make us the Welrod, or a pistol with silenced ammo, takedowns, and using equipment. Which I find infuriating, the stealth in this game is awful, I'm constantly spotted from long distances from enemy snipers, often when barely moving, or even attempting too stealth. And enemies have the best sense of sound I've ever seen, and can often spot you near instantly from even 50 meters away. Another major issue is how slow you move while crouched, it's way, way too slow. Slower than just about any other stealth game I've played, which is a problem because the enemies in this game are constantly moving and looking around, like their all hopped on Pervatin or something. The stealth in this game is totally broken. Trying to play stealthy is a waste of time, I found myself blasting my way through the enemies with my sniper rifle, and my secondary weapon far more often than I found myself trying too use stealth. But at the end of the day, this is still a very addicting, and exciting game too play. It's best too play it in small bursts, as the gameplay get's repetitive quickly, but it's still more than worth jumping on and playing.… Expand

    This game got te game play freedom right, and stealth freedom too.
    Its a good war game, but even if the game play is good, the plot lines and characters are not so memorable. Sadly, the game is based in (for the most part) real life events, and this broke the narrative some times.
    But its a great stealth game, you really should play it if you like the genre. Just don´t expect a good story.

    Pretty fun game with good stealth elements. Some things needed some additional work but solid overall. The issue is the manipulation in marketing. This is a dishonest company that deserves to be to go bankrupt.

    Very good game but pretty short for its price. You should probably buy the DLC if you're gonna get the game, as it adds decent missions. It's very good at what it does, but I wish there was more substance to the game, unfortunately it gets repetitive, so despite being short, I didn't really wish for more levels after finishing the campaign and DLC. I can't say I did much stealth here; inVery good game but pretty short for its price. You should probably buy the DLC if you're gonna get the game, as it adds decent missions. It's very good at what it does, but I wish there was more substance to the game, unfortunately it gets repetitive, so despite being short, I didn't really wish for more levels after finishing the campaign and DLC. I can't say I did much stealth here; in fact Far Cry 3 felt a lot stealthier! You can sneak and melee finish an enemy, you can throw distracting stones, but the mechanics is very underused, you are not encouraged at all to do it. I was also not motivated to replay the game on harder difficulties; only played on normal. I would have given a higher score if it was not so overpriced. Only get on deep sale.… Expand

After the main story, the great addition to this game are the co-op Overwatch missions, which are far the most enjoyable part of the game (one player is the spotter and serves you as the sniper cover, and one player is the ground player who complete primary missions, without sniper rifles, submachine gun and secondary weapon only). There are many multiplayer modes which are also enjoyable enough to make you play this game even more.

    Same complaint as others - guns that should be in the base game sold as dlc. The gameplay is solid but I can't support a company that pulls this kind of thing.

    the game is fun in coop but can be boring and difficult in single player. The story is also not great and short. Not worth playing unless you are playing with a friend in coop

    Really quite good. The game feels & plays like it's much older than 2017, though. Doesn't impact the fun. It did improve on SE3 in every conceivable way thankfully, so that's really all you can ask for if you're a fan of the series.

    The game is really amazing. For this type of game, if you like the type, it should have a way better score. There are a lot of improvement since SE3 (which is also a good game)
    But this one is a step higher. Playability is really great, maps are amazing ! You can play in really different atmospheres (night/day, village/military base...) really great ! The music is nice.

    Little too short (18h), enemy animations could been better (u enemy running path and than he stop immediately without physics). I wish there would be more elements to shoot, but without it i have better emotions after SE V1 - feels more like WW2, not some cartoon.

    Maybe some might think less of it, but I think this was an improvement over Sniper Elite 3, and even for someone who never messes with shooting type games normally, I had a tremendously fun time with this game. The X-Ray shots were always gruesome and yet oh so satisfying.
