I will give credit where credit is due. Slender: The Arrival is creepy as heck, with intense atmosphere. At least until the novelty wears off.

First impressions are great here and the game does live up to the hype, however it doesn't take long to realize that it is a novelty likely made with the lets-play community in mind. That's the problem with jump scares: cool the first time, but

S:A visuals are decent, but as it is set mostly in darkness (for obvious reasons) it really dilutes the experience is it is clear that each environment has had allot of effort into them.

Sound is where this game dominates. Every crack and creak is ominous. The "music" adding a real sense of dread and intensity. If not for the sound design I likely would have hated this game.

    Overall:
Slender: The Arrival is nice at first, but once you've experienced it once, you've more or less experienced most of what it has to offer. A decent title to buy for quick scare, but not one if you want the full game experience.

Disappointing gameplay with only one level that scared me. It has a lot of potential but needs a lot of polishing.

If you want to get creeped out -- this game does it well. It knows exactly what it is, and it's an ACTUALLY scary Slender game. One thing this game isn't very good at -- is being a game. You very often feel cheated by the game's broken mechanics (such as the proxy), and the story itself isn't at all deep or compelling at all. In order to truly capture the entire experience, you would need to collect all the collectibles at the beginning of every level before running through, but that's it. There really doesn't feel enough in this game to make you stay. This is not Outlast, this is Slender which wants to be Outlast. Expand

El juego la verdad no es la gran cosa
la historia tampoco, si tengo algo que destacar del juego es los easter eggs que tiene, que la verdad estan bien dificiles de encontrar. no es el juego que se merece el personaje.

It can be slow at times, but otherwise a great horror experience. It also has a few bugs, but it's possibly the best Slender game out there.

This game was exciting and had a good atmosphere. When you reach 75% of the way in the game the gameplay drops significantly in my opinion and it does not feel that good anymore.

Slender: The Arrival is more frustrating than scary. The atmospheric locations are wasted in this boring survival-horror game where players do little more than search around for numbered items. The game goes a long way to flesh out the story and mythology, but it never makes a convincing argument for why Slender deserves to be a franchise.

It's way too unfair, frustrating and repetitive to be truly scary, though the excellent sound design tries desperately to make up for it.

Ultimately, Slender: The Arrival retains the same experience as the previous versions, though it lacks the visual polish of the PC original.
