When I played the game some ten years ago, I knew virtually nothing about it, or its producer, Level 5.
As soon as I started playing it, I realized that it had many similarities with one of my favorite games of all times, "Secret of Mana".
The game has a solid story, with insights into every character's past, and unlike some of the last generation games, such as Dragon Age Inquisition or Fallout 4, Rogue Galaxy offers a lot of customization that ADDS to the game, and isn't one of its main features. There is a port being released, and I hope many of the new players can try a game that, although not being part of famous series such as Final Fantasy, is undoubtedly one of the best RPGs ever made.
Compelling story, amazing gameplay, tons of features and things to tinker with, as bug collecting and weapon fusion.

And I am impressed with how well this game has aged... when I picked it up on the PSN this weekend I was afraid I would find it dated, ugly, boring, and what a surprise!

Rogue Galaxy is still modern, pretty, engaging but, most importantly, a lot of fun. And it's amazing how a game that is basically 10 years old can be so much better than current releases. It reminded me of a time without patches and DLCs, when we got a great game for a reasonable price and that was it.

The game offers tons of content (60+ hours of gameplay), customization, great characters and story, great soundtrack and beautifully drawn cutscenes. The battle is actually very similar to current RPGs, with more action than strategy.

If you never played this game and love RPGs, trust me: get Rogue Galaxy.
