    Not a Hero is easily one of the greatest pieces of free DLC that I've played. And yes, that is the real Chris Redfield, reluctantly working for a new Umbrella. Unfortunately we still really don't know why. Regardless it was a great 90 minutes-2 hours of free extra content worth playing. Also features his signature deadly fists!

    A great free dlc...Thank you capcom!! C. Redfield is the perfect character to capture the hateful Lucas. Action, adrenaline and breathless. Is not scare like the main game but fun is the same.

    A really good dlc, that give us a hint at to what resident evil 8 can go if using main series characters like Chris... Good graphics, story and I really love the action mixed whit horror gameplay

    A fun free DLC that delivers. If you have a copy of RE7, it's time to launch it once more and enjoy the continuation of the main game's ending. And of course it's free!

    Look, if you liked the game, you´re gonna enjoy this dlc, no doubt. It´s short but sweet and it´s free! I got used to the new Chris pretty soon. A good move from Capcom, who are not particularly know from sound decisions.

    Not a Hero is a good incentive and a direct continuation of the end of RE7 that is... correct.
    Despite the good work done in the playable sections, their lack of fear and the little information that is revealed to us in general, along with a villain like Lucas Baker who is feeling wasted again, we have a DLC that does the homework but that could be have squeezed more.

    Not a Hero is a great, free addition to the already spectacular Resident Evil 7. It manages to keep it spooky and survival horror Esq while also making it much more action-oriented. The weapons are fun to use in this DLC and so are the spooky scenarios you get into. There are interesting new regenerating molded in this DLC that do a good job on giving enemies more variety which is what theNot a Hero is a great, free addition to the already spectacular Resident Evil 7. It manages to keep it spooky and survival horror Esq while also making it much more action-oriented. The weapons are fun to use in this DLC and so are the spooky scenarios you get into. There are interesting new regenerating molded in this DLC that do a good job on giving enemies more variety which is what the main game needed. The add-on also dives deeper in Lucas's very interesting character as you try to capture him. Overall this is an amazing DLC and even better is that Capcom gave it to us for free.… Expand

    NOT A HERO is free and it's fun, but sadly it's not the grand conclusion to the base game regarding Lucas we had hoped for. It IS a conclusion, but not grand or really compelling. But that's just the story.

    The gameplay - the thing that really counts - is actually really fun. There's something satisfying about blasting away those tar-monsters from the base game like they're flies. And    NOT A HERO is free and it's fun, but sadly it's not the grand conclusion to the base game regarding Lucas we had hoped for. It IS a conclusion, but not grand or really compelling. But that's just the story.

    The gameplay - the thing that really counts - is actually really fun. There's something satisfying about blasting away those tar-monsters from the base game like they're flies. And then when more the new baddies are introduced that only can be hurt by special ammo things get delightfully tense, because that special ammo is hard to find. As far as the gameplay is concerned - it's probably the best mix of action and tension in the series since RESIDENT EVIL 4. Except it's not scary (something RE4 manages to be for new players). The tension is pretty great while it lasts, but before you know it you're facing the final boss and then BAM... the game's done. It doesn't really feel like the tension was building up to anything. It's a fun time getting there, but there's not really enough of a journey to look back on once it's all done. The return of Chris' boulder-punching fists of steel is pretty great though.

    Narratively I would've liked to see NOT A HERO cast a broader net into what's going on behind the scenes during the base game, since we only get to see what Ethan sees (and to some extent, what Mia sees). The ending of RE7 arouses questions that don't really get answered here. I suppose these are questions that may be answered in future installments, but I really don't want another game where Chris is the main character - at least for a while. Unfortunately that's what NOT A HERO forebodes. And such a premonition were to come true, we may find ourselves sliding down the slipperiest of slopes back into the action genre.

    If you have RE7, there's no reason why you SHOULDN'T play NOT A HERO. You'll probably like it, but not as much as the base game - and that's fine. NOT A HERO is fine.    … Expand

    We have been waiting one bloody year for that??? It's not worth it trust me, thank god it's free. The only real satisfactory aspect it's the ending because many of us were looking to actually do what you are going to see happen. I was really looking forward to play it, and i was utterly disappointed. I hope you will all have a pleasant time getting    I'll keep it spoiler free,

    What an absolute disappointment. They missed the spring release and took almost an extra year because they realized their first attempt wasn't up to quality standards. It's hard to imagine whatever they had being more of a letdown than this.     I loved the main game, even though I was a little disappointed that there were no appearances from Claire, Jill, Leon, Ada, etc. I can't remember ever being so disappointed by something that was free. I gave it 1 point instead of 0 because at least it is so short you won't waste too much time playing it.    … Expand

    Well…

    Not a Hero puts you in the shoes of Chris Redfield, an actual competent soldier with a more futuristic GUI interface. Unlike the main RE7, which plays like a horror game, this is very much a FPS. The game uses the enemies from the main game, but because you are much better armed and equipped and are more “in control”, it doesn’t feel like such a desperate struggle for survival, but just a FPS type game.

    Indeed, the game doesn’t even try to disguise this fact; it’s very much more standard than the main game.

    Unfortunately, without the tension of survival, this is honestly not a very interesting experience; there’s not a whole lot of surprises here, as you encountered Lucas in the main game and thus know what he’s like, and while there’s a couple boss fights, neither of them was really all that impressive or felt like it was up to snuff compared to the ones in the main game.

    This took less than two hours to complete, and was about the right length for what it was, but what it was was a rather mediocre FPS. I wouldn’t really recommend it unless you’re really interested in seeing what happened to Lucas after the main game.    … Expand

Firearms, although actually only two, are really satisfying to use against the enemies, especially the Thor's Hammer autoloader    "Not a Hero" follows Chris Redfield in his attempt to capture Lucas Baker, after the events of the main game. Interesting plot, which gives some important revelations, although nothing really special. It does its job.

    Playing as Chris in this adventure is fun. Firearms, although actually only two, are really satisfying to use against the enemies, especially the Thor's Hammer autoloader shotgun. A third firearm more, like an SMG, would have add more variety though. It's also really cool to hit the enemies straight in the face with Chris' right jab. There are not many new enemies except "Little Crawlers" and the "Fumer". This latter enemy is invulnerable, unless special RAMRODs ammunition is used. Despite the preponderant dose of action, the game does not necessarily renounce its horror component. Level of challenge in general is very good. However, the final boss is really unbalanced and has too many advantages: he is too fast considering his body mass and the high damage he inflicts, his chained attacks and his jumps from above are simply annoying. Having to face him in the second phase while also worrying about oxygen supply – O2 dispensers are deliberately placed in uncomfortable places – mostly generates unpleasant frustration. Then Chris, despite not being a civilian like Ethan but a trained soldier, is still too slow in his movement, which makes no sense and complicates the game. Not a good design by default, although it's a more classic boss battle than some in the main game and still feasible on "Normal" difficulty.

    Then there is the "Professional" difficulty level, which is part of the package and therefore it's right to penalize my review's score because of it. Why penalize? Because I would like to know the name of the genius who decided it was a good idea forcing the player to undergo 1/3 of the expansion using only the knife. That's right: no firearms, large high damage-dealing enemies groups and only the tactical knife to face them. Unfortunately, I found this not only stupid but also extremely annoying as a design choice. Needless to say, the boss battle is frustration embodied, making the game almost totally impossible to truly enjoy. And again, Chris' too slow movement makes all more complicated.

    In the end "Not a Hero" is a nice expansion to play, especially on default difficulty. It doesn't last long but it's also free and generally offers good fun. Too bad it was undermined by a failed boss battle design and equally failed higher difficulty design choices that prevented to offer an high but balanced challenge.    … Expand

    Continua justo donde acabó RE7 controlando al bueno de Chris Redfield, protagonista de anteriores juego de la saga, con mucho más armamento y con una misión en mente. Aquí vas armado hasta los dientes que en 2 horas o así lo terminas con nuevas mecánicas e innovaciones en la jugabilidad y lo mejor de todo gratis!.

Chris brands his own set of weapons and melee attacks. Just asNot a Hero picks up where RE 7 left off. It features Chris Redfield and lasts about an hour and a half. The fact that it's free is quite generous of Capcom. This is on par with the quality of the main game. As you chase Lucas Baker through the catacombs, you'll be faced with booby traps, new molded creatures and a few puzzles. Chris brands his own set of weapons and melee attacks.     É uma boa DLC, mas me remeteu um pouco ao Resident Evil 5 ou 6 e acabei me sentindo preocupado de retornar com a forma genérica de tratar a franquia.

    The worst parts of RE7 with a couple of gimmicks. Nice to see more Lucas and get his backstory and the final boss fight is fun. If you didn't love the moulded, here's so more less enjoyable varients of them. If it wasn't free I wouldn't bother but it's not terrible

    The new areas are a little more open than one might expect from the claustrophobic RE7, but they’re packed with enemies to blast with Chris’ new semi-auto shotgun, and the faster, more combat-heavy gameplay works just as well in first person as the main game’s slow and tense exploration does. There’s a about an hour of content in Not A Hero, including a boss fight and a truly jarring close-quarters battle that proved traumatic in VR. This is a stellar piece of bonus content, which has only one thing keeping it from being the definitive piece of Resident Evil 7 DLC – it’s not End of Zoe.

    Not A Hero absorbs Resident Evil 7's discordant third act and recasts it in the mold of a conventional action shooter. While a sharp focus (and a welcomed protagonist swap) aid Not A Hero's general coherence, it's a vision of a life the seventh Resident Evil chose to leave behind. A safe move isn't often the strongest.

    Despite an excess of action, the final two DLC episodes feel like a love letter to both the original games and Resident Evil 7 itself. It answers almost every question asked, but leaves a couple unanswered, probably to keep RE8 a possibility.
