    The original Resident Evil 2 is my favorite game of all time so I was ready for a long time for this remake to come out. I did have a lot of fun playing this game I just don’t like that they cut content from the original. One major issue I have is how they did the A and B scenarios. The B scenario is pretty much gone. It is more of a Claire campaign and a Leon campaign and they do notThe original Resident Evil 2 is my favorite game of all time so I was ready for a long time for this remake to come out. I did have a lot of fun playing this game I just don’t like that they cut content from the original. One major issue I have is how they did the A and B scenarios. The B scenario is pretty much gone.     The classic Resident Evil game that sets the action and horror level very well. Although I got to know the Resident Evil series with the 7th game, this was my favorite game. really successful.

    A masterfully recreated game of the original, I wouldn't call the remake a perfect remake but it's damn close. For me what stops this remake from being a perfect 10 is that Claire does not get her iconic crossbow in this game (come on, you could have easily put this in Capcom and had it make sense. Off the top of my head; you find it in the evidence room accompanied by a memo saying it wasA masterfully recreated game of the original, I wouldn't call the remake a perfect remake but it's damn close. If time was a factor or laziness simply not wanting to animate cutscenes it would have been so easy to just have the characters communicate over the radio.     For me, the best Resident Evil game to date. Only thing that let it down was the b scenarios and lack of interaction between the 2 leads which was present in the original but still as far as a single experience it's pretty much flawless

    Absolutely fabulous remaster, even know I had to complete it 6-7 times in order to get the platinum trophy I never at any point got bored of this game, it really is that brilliant, has slight changes from the original ps1 classic but nothing of note that detracts from the game, having also very recently done the resident evil 4 remaster as well, I can whole heartedly say these two areAbsolutely fabulous remaster, even know I had to complete it 6-7 times in order to get the platinum trophy I never at any point got bored of this game, it really is that brilliant, has slight changes from the original ps1 classic but nothing of note that detracts from the game, having also very recently done the resident evil 4 remaster as well, I can whole heartedly say these two are among some of the very best games available by anyones standards on an system, this game honestly is that good and judging by the user score (which can be very skewed these days on metacritic unfortunately due to pointless bombing by rival fans) people do tend to agree with me, the graphics are great and it ran brilliantly for me which is obviously the main point in a remaster, as everything else is still great from the original, its full marks from me.… Expand

    As a newcomer to this series, i started with resident evil 2. All i can say is its a very amazing game, the visuals,gameplay, characters,etc. are all very good, it has a great story. It has great dlc's as well, completed all of them. This was almost close to a masterpiece, if not for the bad enemy/boss variety and few sequences were boring. So its a 9.5/10 for me. Highly recommened.

This is imo the re experience, by this time re4 remake has come out and while both are very good, this is the re experience. The level design is incredible, the atmosphere is incredible, MR X is so intimidating. Really good

    Great horror game. Gameplay is smooth, there is good action and it has scary chases through the map. Atmosphere keeps you on your toes with tension if you have enough to survive next minutes.

    This game has it all, from Amazing graphics to fun and awesome gameplay and some really scary places where you can explore, solve puzzles etc. The soundtracks was also awesome. They added alot of scary vibes to the already scary places.     As a resident evil fan, this is a really good remake. Since i'm a dumb dumb I had to run around for maybe five minutes to figure out what i need to do. Of course, we have the stunning graphics that still hold on to this day. A great re-imagining of resident evil 2.

    Resident Evil 2 remake has become a prime example of how to reimagine a game. I love the game's simple but charming story, horrific and unique enemies, and incredibly well designed locations to investigate.

    Even though I found Resident Evil Village to be a heavily flawed game, I was actually quite interested in playing more Resident Evil games. Unfortunately, Resident Evil 7: biohazard's strong emphasis on horror didn't interest me at all, so I decided to play Resident Evil 2.
    Anyway, so, I wasn't expecting a good story from Resident Evil 2 and I didn't really get a good story; it's not bad,    Even though I found Resident Evil Village to be a heavily flawed game, I was actually quite interested in playing more Resident Evil games. Unfortunately, Resident Evil 7: biohazard's strong emphasis on horror didn't interest me at all, so I decided to play Resident Evil 2.
    Anyway, so, I wasn't expecting a good story from Resident Evil 2 and I didn't really get a good story; it's not bad, in fact, it managed to surprise me at times but it's just not necessarily good either. It's definitely not an important part of the game though, so it didn't affect my thoughts on the game overall.
    The characters are decent; Claire is great, Leon is cool, Ada is fine and the side-characters are okay, even if most of them are not memorable.
    The gameplay is amazing though! There's a wide variety of weapons & items, the shooting mechanics feel extremely satisfying and the survival horror elements are wonderful.
    The atmosphere and the representation are perfect, and they're accompanied by breathtaking graphics, outstanding audio and absolutely incredible level design. These are some of the most important parts in a survival horror game for me and Resident Evil 2 excels in every single one of them.
    Also, the boss fights are surprisingly exciting and interesting, albeit not very well designed for the most part.
    I feel like the only serious complaint I have about the game is how the second run feels very similar to the first run and its implementation messes up the story and the backtracking in some instances, unfortunately.

    Pros:
    + Addictive gameplay
    + Superb atmosphere & audio
    + Gorgeous visuals
    + Awesome level design

    Cons:
    - The addition of the second run isn't executed very well

    This is a remake of one of the classic horror games that completely redefines the word remake. When I hear about a game being remade and remastered for the modern consoles it usually means that they added three pixels to a single can in level 3 and that is it. However, RE2 is a completely new game made from the ground up and given so much love, care and attention that it came out as one of the most beloved games of the modern generation.

    Top to bottom this game looks beautiful and sounds just divine. I swear to god if you play this with a solid pair of headphones you can avoid enemies just by hearing them from around a corner perfectly. The spatial awareness this sound system allows is unlike anything I have ever seen.

    Segmented into four different scenarios, you can attack this game from any direction you like. You can play as either Leon or Claire, each with their own unique arsenal of weapons, their own stories, their own unique bosses and even their own separate sections of the game.

    The only place where the game stumbles is the differences between the A and B scenarios. Sure there are differences like different solutions to the various puzzles, but if you played Leon A and went into Leon B, besides the first cutscene and the unique pathing in the first five minutes, the playthrough is identical story wise, besides once again, the final five minutes. Cutscenes and all.

    This however is not as big of a deal for me, as I had plenty of fun speedrunning through the game after my first playthrough, in order to get the S tier playthroughs. Hardcore brings its own unique challenge, with limiting the inventory slots upgrades from six to three and requiring items found in the game to save.

    Overall, RE2 Remake should be a gold standard on how to bring an old classic to modern audiences. If you have not played this gem, you won't regret picking it up.    … Expand

    The atmosphere in this game is everything and really reminds you how horror games should be instead of never ending jumpscares. It reminds you how terrifying it feels to be chased around and to walk alone in dark corridors with nothing but a few bullets in your gun. The graphics are very detailed, everything feels very polished.

    I'm not in the majority with this opinion, but this is a boring puzzle game that teases you with great shooting mechanics and barely any zombies to shoot. I hope you like shooting bosses though, plenty of them. This is a testament to why 3-6 progressively cranked up the action to the umpteenth degree.

Sobre a gameplay: muito mais dinâmica com a câmera over the shoulder e a possibilidade de movimentação ao mirar, pois antes a câmera era fixa e não era permitido a movimentação ao usar uma arma, o queEste definitivamente é um dos melhores remakes da atualidade. Trazendo o terror vivido por Claire Redfield e Leon S. Kennedy em Raccon City, Resident Evil 2 possui apenas pontos positivos. Sobre a gameplay: muito mais dinâmica com a câmera over the shoulder e a possibilidade de movimentação ao mirar, pois antes a câmera era fixa e não era permitido a movimentação ao usar uma arma, o que tornava a gameplay muito engessada e longe da realidade; o sistema de backtracking está bastante presente nesse jogo, sendo uma marca registrada na franquia. The scenarios are barely different, all of the campaigns feature both birkin and mr x and a few enemies and locations are removed, but if I were to review it without compairing it to the 1998 classic, I'd say it deserves the rating I have given it. The gunplay feels great, the voice acting, while somewhat stale, is still better than most games that have come out in the past 5 years, there is a lot of replay value, it's fun to try and speedrun, and the graphics are absolutely breathtaking. Definetely a must for anyone owning a ps4 or ps5.… Expand

    The puzzles are fun, the setting is cool, hearing the foot steps of the big dude is always creepy, and the gameplay is good. I had a great time playing this. This was the 2nd RE game I've really played. Beat 5 as a kid but barely remember it so I don't count it.

There's too much in this game that I could explain why love it, but I'd rather you experience it for yourself.     For me simply one of the best games of the last decade. Playing it on the hardest mode is just what a Game, playing in a Zombie Apocalypse, should feel like. You think twice what kinda equipment you carry and what move you make next, because everything is deadly. In my honest opinion: this game is just perfect. Played through it a couple of times. Love it every time I do.
    The chances of ruining a remake and therefore pulling the original title with it into the abyss of disappointment are always pretty high. Especially if you change a game so drastically in turns of perspective like this one. From the original locked camera game with is almost non dynamic but more tactical approach, to a third person shooter, what makes a game insanely more dynamic just by that change. And with that change of perspective it is easy to induce too much action into it. (Resident evil 4 Is a good example here, because of the third person perspective and the fast shooting, loading and aiming, the action factor is pretty high.) To not loose the connection to the original tactical feeling is the art. But they mastered this links between old and new perfectly. It really feels like the original resident evil 2 in third person.     Listen Square Enix, this is how you do a remake.

    The atmosphere and plot were mostly kept faithful to. The original soundtrack is available (and still better, frankly.) But the gameplay and graphics are a huge step up. The combat is improved, and Mr X as a roaming enemy is a fantastic idea. Its basically every thing a remake should be.

The original is the pinnacle of the RE franchise in my opinion, but this remake was a slog to get through and the thought of a second playthrough is scarier to me than the game itself. You'll have to go through the same area (you've already completed with your first character) with minor tweaks here and there. At the start of your second character's story, your first play through seems to be totally forgotten. Yet, both story are needed to understand the full picture.

    Nevertheless, this is a game that will leave you on the edge of your seat while you lose track of time!

    The best survival horror to date in post-silent-hill era, this time juiced with marvelous graphics, outstanding physics and overall fun-ness. One of my favorite games of the last generation. I wish the second half was as unmatchable as the first half though.

    Game is extremely boring. Weak story, few dialogs, bad combat design, repetitiveness and a lot of back tracking.
    Objectively average game has too many flaws, that’s why high scores are given only by blind fans, not by people who have never played original game.

    P.S. RE3 remake did way better work than this.

    Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful recreation of a believed original that, not only recaptures the glory of that game, but also improves upon it from a visual and gameplay standpoint. All in all, don’t miss out on this one.
