It has a great campaign (roughly 10 hours long), fun weapons, nice variety of vehicles, and destructible environments which is still tons of fun today. The graphics are quite dated now, but the sense of adventure and mystery is still there as you progress through the game. The mechanics are also better than some games coming out today, well worth a look IMO. Full Review »

I looked at the box, and it seemed like a generic sci-fi shooter. I decided to hold off initially, and go rent it first from my local Movie Gallery (remember those?). Every single copy was gone from the shelf. I went to the counter to see about when one would be returned, but they were all re-rented. I broke down and ended up dropping the $50 on the game. When I got home, I was immediately blown away.

The story was a fun b-movie sci-fi action romp (a little like Total Recall meets Commando). Finding out different ways to tunnel through the environments was also a ton of fun, weapons were a fun time figuring out which ones were the best to use (taking demo charges and tossing them on the guards was always a riot watching them run around in panic, waiting for the inevitable).

Where the AI was not the best, the higher difficulties fixed that. Playing on the hardest setting was basically giving them all heat seeking bullets. For the majority of the game, it's fairly competent, and gets the job done.

While I haven't sat down and played this game in almost 10 years, I still remember many of the key moments in this game. This was THQ at their absolute best. Where the future games weren't as good or impressive, they were all still tons of fun in their own right. However, even with dated visuals, and a sometimes laughable script, this is a ton of fun to play through, and the local multiplayer almost rivals Goldeneye 007 on the N64 (Just kidding, it's way better, lol). This is a must buy for anyone, regardless if they have played it in the past or not.
