I love Shoot em ups, Ive played many over the years some i have liked and others I haven't, But in Raiden Vs case its a half decent Shoot em up that has had a bunch of stupid crap plastered over the top of it to turn it into a bad Shoot em up. This stuff can be fixed a bit with options but still causes issues. Then there is the pointless cheer system, I really think they need to re work it. I didnt enjoy this game, ... Expand

Game play wise, Raiden V is awful but you probably already know that from other reviews. Technically is also awful, on the top right corner of the actual screen (where the action takes place) there is always a flickering diagonal shadow when the stage is bright, the worst part is that the game crashes randomly with error CE-34878 on PS4 and after all these wears it hasn't been fixed yetGame play wise, Raiden V is awful but you probably already know that from other reviews. Luckily, I bought it on sale and I only lost 9€, you have been warned, avoid like the plague!!! Expand

    buena banda sonora, y divertido

It's Raiden. If you loved 3 or 4 you will enjoy this. Epic soundtrack which is included in the physical. Very smooth effects, crisp textures, and bright colors. I've done one play through so far on normal and the only thing I didn't like was the blip sound as cheer numbers increase. I hope they add an option to turn that sound off like they did for the voices.

Reviewed on the PS5. Modernized smooth gameplay. Graphics are decent. Excellent music soundtrack. Great feedback when you destroy enemy units. UI is a bit cluttered while playing. Unlimited continues which helps make the game accessible to all audiences.

Just an all around fun and great shoot em up. I can replay this game over and over because the gameplay is so addicting. Raiden V

The Raiden franchise never disappointed me in the past, and has not disappointed me now! This vertical shooter is just as fun as the previous version I have on my PS3. I can see myself playing this over again!

More of the same from Raiden but the variety of selectable weapons systems adds an extra dimension. The screen is still a little too busy making spotting enemy fire a little too difficult but it's a marked improvement on Overkill.

Raiden V: Director's Cut is a fine shooter. While it introduces some things to keep rookies engaged, it also has enough to keep veterans playing thanks to multiple routes and plane configurations. There's a limited selection of shooters for the bullet hell crowd to enjoy, and despite its issues with bullet visibility, Raiden V deserves a place in that library.

In the end, Raiden V felt like a game that ticks all the right boxes for a Solid Shoot’em Up. It is not trying to be the most innovative game of the genre. It is only there to give you a solid gaming experience that you expect from a vertical scrolling, retro-flavored, bullet-hell game. Everything Raiden V has to offer is something you have already seen elsewhere, with some minor changes here and there. Overall, Raiden V is just another game in the long evolutionary process of Shoot’em Ups. If you’re looking for a casual and good vertical shooter to spend your time with, Raiden V is a good choice.

Whether you are a serious fan of bullet hell games or new to the genre, Raiden V: Director’s Cut is a great place to start. It offers easy to play, but hard to master gameplay and some great moments throughout and lives up to the series name!
