I like what Race the Sun set out to do, and I think it achieves it wonderfully. There hasn't been a fast-runner game I've been pleased with in quite some time, but the mechanic here is perfect. You do this while the environment collapses and forms new obstacles in front of you, giving a very cinematic feel to the game as the world rushes past. Its a great test of reflexes, but hard to take in large doses. I love the daily level updates, shows a great initiative on the developers behalf. Grab it if you like fast-paced racing titles (Split Second, Space Harrier), you won't go wrong. 7/10 Expand

Pretty basic fast past runner that offers little from what was on the PS2.

It's not a bad game, and I'm glad to have got it via PS+ rather than actually paying for it. I would pay £1.99 or so for a game this basic, but cant help but feel it would be more fun on a handheld / Android than the PS4.

If its free to download, do it, it's a few hours enjoyment

I think this game is more at home on the Vita with its quick play and the sticks seem more responsive and tuned on Vita than PS4. Vita version takes a bit to load but runs smooth with a very noticeable hit in detail. Can get frustrating and sometimes you get screwed by the environment in unavoidable no out paths unless you have a jump left. Very addicting Expand

Nice game that you can spend many hours doing nothing. I think these type of games should be on mobiles. I don't know what else to say. I'm just typing

I had it for free on PS+. It's a short game, based on skill. The content is very poor, but i still like it. when you finish the game, you can try to beat your best score, there are daily leaderboards.

Anyway, a very simple game, too simple.

Punishingly difficult, they make you go super fast and add tons of moving obstacles really early on so you die quickly. Difficulty ramps up way too quickly, which discourages newcomers and works only for obsessive fans who have super quick reflexes.

There aren't really any alternate game modes if you find the main one overly difficult or stressful. This is one of those games that's

There aren't really any alternate game modes if you find the main one overly difficult or stressful. This is one of those games that's needlessly unforgiving and could easily be adapted with a few adjustments to the speed of the airship, the number of obstacles, and the space between them.

Elegant minimalist fast 'just one more try' gameplay. Fun in short bursts (maybe 10mins per day). A new random map each day helps, but after a few days you do start noticing the standard 'cut & past' terrain chunks the maps are composed of, even if they do shuffle around a bit each day. Nice inclusion in the free PSN May 15 game line up, especially as its PS crossplay.

This is a phone game...for the PS4. You're not going to remember this game very well, and you're not going to play it for too long. The game starts off very simple, but becomes slightly more complicated mechanically after you play for a little while, but there just isn't enough in this game to make you stay.

Before you start there are challenges to clear...
clearing these challenges will progress the level of your ship...
as you progress your level you unlock new drops to help you get further as well as ship perks,,
This helps with the one more try mentality you need in an endless runner..
Especially since this is all that the game is...
The world isn’t too interesting and that’s mostly due to the fact that is changes every 24 hours…
but it’s still thrilling trying to find the right path in a region, remembering where you messed up and trying to overcome these obstacles next time…
as there definitely are some wrong paths with impossible obstacles unless you have a specific pick up with you…
this can make the game feel a bit cheap, frustrating and unfair..
a smack in the face like your perseverance meant nothing when you get into a situation you have no control in…
This ultimately hurt my overall experience of what otherwise is a fairly enjoyable quick break kind of game..
    There’s not much depth here…
complete challenges, stay out of the shadows, and race the sun.
    I give race the sun

A stunning addictive game, play it for hours, it's challenging, (to get number 1 spot in daily ranks)... getting to the highest level is pretty easy, but this is a must have game, Get it. Enjoy it.

Although it's ultimately an infinite runner type game, Race The Sun has a few features that help extend its replayability. A simple concept, but well made.

race the sun is an endless runner type game, where your objective as the title suggests, is to race the sun as it sets in your solar powered aircraft whilst acquiring pickups and dodging increasingly more difficult
    obstacles.

In terms of powerups, the yellow powerup pushes the sun back up into the sky which is crucial as it gives you more time, the green powerup allows you to jump and there is also a purple power up which acts as a shield meaning you basically get a second chance if you crash. Players collect blue tris which increase there score multiplayer which in turn increases there overall score. There is also a portal world you can travel through which sorta acts as a bonus stage, where its easier to collect tris.

The game is split up into regions, with each region you pass through having increasingly difficult obstacles for you to race through. The game is randomly generated and is refreshed every 24 hours, giving you a new challenge every day.

In terms of lifespan and replayability, there is a levelling up system which maxes out at level 25 giving you objectives to complete as you race. levelling up unlocks different abiltys that you can equip to your ship for example faster turning, aswel as decals for your left and right wing. apocolypse mode pits you against difficult obstacles and a low sunset from the beginning and is basically for players who love a challenge.
Labrytinth mode has more of a birds eye view and is a little slower to begin with however it adds to the variety of the game.

Fun to play with a decent, fitting soundtrack and easy to pick up for when you only have a little time on your hands. Price on the psn store is a little pricey at £7.39 ($9.99) for what it is, but if you want something
that doesn't require a lot of effort to get into then this is a great addictive game for you.

This bad boy is NOT for people who get frustrated easily. For me, I crash, I laugh about it, I go again. Rinse and repeat. For an Indie title this game has incredibly smooth controls and extra beauty in its graphics that match those of some AAA tier games. The gameplay is as straightforward as it comes.

I really enjoy this game and my friends do too. I was tickled pink to see this game on PS4 on a 70 inch screen (actually it blew my face off) and I remembered that I actually helped this project exist years ago! So it was off to reclaim the Kickstarter reward that I had totally forgotten about!.

Well, at home it was a lot less intense on my monitor, and the crummy anti-aliasing grates on me a little, also a little boring and repetitive after a while (without taking turns, my friends at the edge of their seats, giant TV, and a couple bowls of reefer). But still a fun thing to hop onto for a few goes every day.

    No regrets.

It's a different endless runner, since the context is way less ethereal than what you're used to. If you like the genre, you should try this one.
