    The sequel, while released 16 years after the original, have managed to stay true to the original in terms of look and feel, only with richer graphics, and improve upon it in every aspect. I was really excited for the sequel, and big backer of it (got the backpack :), but I was not expecting to love this game so much.

    They dared to introduce so many new critical characters into the story, and make daring risky plot twists. But it all worked out so well. The world they have built, and the brains you get to dive into are truly imaginative and very creative. And I fell in love with all the mental health metaphors and projections incorporated into the game. The extra abilities added were fun also. And I loved the OST. The diversity of the bosses made the experience far more dynamic.

    This is simply the best project I backed up, and the game is now one of my all time favorites. This is for sure DoubleFine's masterpiece.

    Only two complains I have are the game can dip at times on PS4, and the text is too small for playing on large screen while sitting in the back. It's designed for playing while close to the screen.    … Expand

    One of the most memorable games I ever played. Graphics and world building were so awesome and immersive. Loved searching and collecting items in the over world and using different abilities to overcome platforming challenges and find secrets. The art direction was amazing. Only thing that kept me from giving the game a perfect 10 was there was a little too much collecting in theOne of the most memorable games I ever played.     I was impressed with how the game manages to not pretend like you magically forgot all of the powers you learned in the first game, you get them all almost instantly with a little hey, remember that thing you can do, that would be helpful here.. as well as introducing new abilities tht make for some interesting puzzles early on..
    And for better or for worse psychonauts 2 feels very much like a PS2 game.. there is no handholding here, The game takes place in a semi open world where you have to find a cast of charcters and enter their minds for the more linear parts of the game.. so you ve to figure out what to do with whatever the previous character told you.. no arrows, no spot marked on the map, just go find them.. but once you do and things get rolling, psychonauts 2 is a blast… now there isn’t as much variety gameplay wise as there was in the first game as you were learning new abilities, so it sticks to straight up 3d platforming with new elements here and there based on the new power, but the game still manages to feel fresh throughout, even throwing you into a cooking show for one level.. and one of my favorite moments when I knew I loved this game was going through this dark forest in search of some bees..
    Theres so much charm here, such a special game..
    My only complaing with Psychonauts 2 is the combat, it just isn’t that fun, you have so many powers but only 4 action buttons so you have to constantly remap depending on certain enemies, and I feel enemies are just so spongy for how much the game asks of you, but there are accessibility optiosn to make you invincible if youre just over a section or don’t care to deal with the annoying combat, but definitely turn this off for boss battles, because these moments are really fun and special and youll be missing out not giving them your all.
    Psychonauts 2 is a really special game full of charm and humor.

    I think this game is amazing. Simply amazing. I have no idea why it's getting review bombed. Apparently, it doesn't have Russian subtitles. ...So what? I'm Norwegian, but I don't need Norwegian subtitles. Grow up.

    Great Game, i really loved it.

    Add Russian subtitles, please. Generally add more subtitle options to the game for more languages.
    Currently the best game of the year. Very creative, interesting and in it each level is done differently.

    Played this after the first game and this is why I ADORE 3D platformers. So glad this came on ps4, the characters, combat and story is the best I’ve seen in any platformer! The mental worlds and use of environmental story telling is perfect, this game came out at the best time. I will say though that yes there are too many collectables, the wall jumping is a bit weird and I kinda wish thePlayed this after the first game and this is why I ADORE 3D platformers. All the original voice actors reprise their roles and there really isn’t any character I didn’t like, the interns however felt very forced though. It’s nice to see the old style of the character models in UE4, the whole game felt perfectly paced but when you’ve done the main story and aren’t doing a 100% run its kinda pointless. I yearn for a possible Psychonauts 3, if that means getting an Xbox series S for it, I’m all in for it. Thank you for this artful game Double fine. Now microsoft heres proof that platformers work on xbox how about a voodoo vince 2 or a collab heh?… Expand

    I LOVED the 1st game and this one does a fantastic job on building upon the world and characters the first one set up. The story is full of twists and turns. The characters are fun and relatable. There's a nice balance between comedy, action, adventure, sadness and tragedy. Ift really takes you back to a time when games were full of passion and fun.

    Fantastic game. Stylistic, fun, well developed characters, inventive. I couldnt avoid comparing the quality to the latest Ratchet and Clank game which has been hyped a lot. Psychonauts 2 is so much more charming in comparison and my kids, 6 and 10 dont want to stop playing it.

    I was waiting for the sequel 15 years and it was worth it — It's a very fun game in dialogues and gameplay as well.     Great game, its sad reading criticism without sense like it isnt out for ps5 and trash talk or bombing it and it is sad this game it is fun a lot of stuff remain intact from the first game, i was just a child when i played the first one and this game feel like the ratatouille critic meme its something worth waiting and something people should see for what it is, a masterpiece.

    Review bombing. 80 percent of these reviews are from salty asś fanboys. Any "I need Russian translation" are fake. The game is maybe a 90, but I will give it a 100 to counter these idiot virgins.

    Good but worse than the original and Microsoft is showing corporate greed and is not putting out a ps5 version so they can sell more Xbox. Good game from double fine, but so bummed that I can't play the ps5 version. If it had a ps5 version it would be an 8 or 9.

    Absolutely delivered as a follow-up to the first one with 15 years worth of nostalgia and inflated expectations. Some of the most endearing character writing in a game I’ve experienced. I dream of a remake of the first game with this gameplay and graphical fidelity.

Es increíble que lo califiquen mal porque no tiene idioma ruso, primero, este juego es de Xbox Game Studios, las consolas de Xbox no se venden mucho en esos países, así que para que gastar en actores de voz y subtitulos, para que solo 200 peros as lo compren y que de esas 200, unos 175 loSeré sincero con mi respuesta... Este juego se juega mejor en Xbox Series X|S por obvia razones... Es increíble que lo califiquen mal porque no tiene idioma ruso, primero, este juego es de Xbox Game Studios, las consolas de Xbox no se venden mucho en esos países, así que para que gastar en actores de voz y subtitulos, para que solo 200 peros as lo compren y que de esas 200, unos 175 lo compren en Ps4 o Ps5 (con retrocompatibilidad), pues no sé...     One of the best action-platformers! Don't believe those who say this is outdated. A unique world full of crazy (in a good sense of the word) characters, and the gameplay flown with a narrative, makes it feel truly new. It costs every penny on PS4!

    I really wanted to love this, but I can't play it.
    Mouse controls are deeply flawed. They're not 1:1 - what I mean is, they have a certain sensitivity when you're moving the mouse in an angle in front of Raz, but if you move more the sensitivity gradually decrease and you need a bigger movement (ie doing a 360°).

    Меня возмущает, что разработчики ведутся на политические интриги. Не нравится, что разработчики не имеют личного характера и мнения по поводу локализаций - они послушно сделали как им приказали. Слабость да и только!

    Brak polskiej wersji językowej oraz brak natywnej wersji na PS5. Rozumiem że maczał w tym palce Microsoft. Który Polskę ma za trzeci świat. Skoro chcieli zarobić na masie graczy PS to trzeba było wydać na PS5 również. Po co wydawaliście to na PS4 ? Gra roku - wstyd. Pozdrawiam

    Thanks to the original premise and quirky sense of humour, I did quite enjoy the original Psychonauts despite its flaws, unfortunately I can’t really say the same about this sequel.     Simply said, I’ve waited this game for 15 years, I had big expectations for this one.. tans it has managed to exceed them, this is simply the best game of 2021 so far (for me at least).
    The game is obviously not for everyone, but everyone should definitely check it out and give it a chance.

There is a narrative cohesion in its level design that makes it so special. The dialogue writing also makes that overall story so great too. I found the intern characters annoying but the rest of the characters in which Raz explores the minds of are really endearing. The game is ultimately about the power of empathy and I really empathized with a lot of these characters.

    Lo mejor que he jugado en mucho tiempo. Increíble a nivel de diseño y, sobre todo, la estructura de simbolismos y onirísmo surrealista de inconsciente trasladado a un juego. Sencillamente conmovedor.

    I will come back to flesh out this review further, but Psychonauts 2 is an absolute MUST PLAY for fans of the action/adventure/platformer genre. Ratchet & Clank was incredible from a technical standpoint, but Psychonauts just has so much... heart.     Same folks that rated a 10 for Xbox version are here giving it a ZERO. Is the game that different tho? I give a 8 cause I already play a lot better games before this one was released

    Настоящий бриллиант. В Psychonauts 2 есть всё, за что я люблю игры - интересный сюжет, разнообразные механики, безумные многомерные локации, где стены могут стать полом и тд, множество секретов, отличный юмор. А гротескный стиль лишь подчеркивает безумие происходящего. Ну и музыка, само собой.
    P.S. Огромное спасибо разработчикам за локализацию. Возможность играть на родном языке - главный    Настоящий бриллиант.     Psychonauts 2 is a great platformer, Psychonauts 2 is a good game. Psychonauts 2 is also not a polished game, at least on Playstation. From Constant.... I mean Constant frame rate drops, characters getting stuck in objects or falling through the floor. Insane load times and wonky camera angles Psychonauts 2 has it's issues. However this doesn't take away from the awesome story and the funPsychonauts 2 is a great platformer, Psychonauts 2 is a good game. Psychonauts 2 is also not a polished game, at least on Playstation.     Maybe the graphics isn't at the Top.
    But the art direction is absolutely stunning

    The Psychonauts art-style is still charming but also looks even better. The hub area has multiple big areas to explore for collectible and it is very completion friendly with telling you with check mark if you collected everything in a section of the levels. It also has pop-up notes in the semi-open hub area to tell you how many you currently have and still need to find. Most of the things also can be obtained as you go through the level the first time with only a few collectibles and upgrade items locked behind Psi-Powers you only obtain later.

    Normally you have plenty chance to upgrade your powers and increase life but you can make it through most of the game without touching purchasable healing items since there is plenty healing scattered throughout the levels. The levels are all unique and crazy like you like and expect it from Psychonauts. It also has plenty of quirky characters to enjoy interacting. The story won't boggle and twist your mind but it's still nice to follow and wonder about. Bosses are also fun.

    Sound design also slaps though in some areas the volume mixing is too high or too low. Just gotta adjust manually on your TV then.

    The only thing not so good was I still fought with the controls at times by the end of it. It just wasn't as crisp as I would wish it to be, especially when it came to wall jumping. The way to open and choose the "wheel of Psi-Powers I also kept confusing where I put which Psi-Power on the shoulder buttons since some Psy-Powers you need regularly while others change often as you explore a new section of the levels but nothing too bad since it's rather forgiving.

    Over all really cool sequel just like we wanted after these years of wait.    … Expand

    Great sequel to one of my favourite games of all time. The ending and some cutscenes are somewhat clunky, but overall it’s great.

    In this thoughtful exploration into the minds of a damaged group of powerful psychics, you may actually learn a little about yourself. Through all the goofy humor and endless puns there is something special here. Psychonauts 2 is visually stunning at times, and a little repetitive at others, but the soul in this game stands out. The developers at Double Fine Productions took good care to make something special and refreshing.
