    Broken Game, the Chicken lvl is one big bug. In my opinion is the worst remaster of all time.

    The timing in this game is so completely and utterly messed up to the point where there is no way to get better at it. You'll hit the timing perfectly so he raps along in beat and you'll lose all your points. Then you'll push a jumble of **** that doesn't line up at all and you'll go up a rank.

    Any possibility of this game being fun is ruined by it's horrible game play.

    As of writing this review, the game is almost completely broken with timing issues. How you can make a "remaster" and still create a worse version of a game than the original is beyond me. This might just be the worst remaster of all time.

    Poor remaster of a good game. Timing is inaccurate leaving it broken. Great visuals, great sound, poor control, as mentioned by other reviewers. If it can be patched to match rhythm better it would be a solid 8/10. As of now its not worth the asking price.

    PaRappa the Rapper is as fun (and challenging) as I remember and is a great trip down memory lane. the soundtrack and rapping are cleaner than i remember and the graphics look great on a 4K TV.

    I really liked the new 'feel the beat' feature as well. It really helps me get a sense for the timing, especially on the tougher levels like the Chicken level...(Grrr...!) if you are in the

    Damn this remaster completely screwed up the timing in some levels. It still has fun raps a creative style and energy, but it is a shame you can't callibrate the tv because some notes are off beat.

    This game is awesome, but it got a major problem, which is not a problem for who's veteran ... The timing of the notes is incredibly outrages, i mean, the gameplay can be easily 3/10. The cool timing is a little bit limited for again: the veterans of the old game.

    It's a steamy hot piece of garbage poorly done, buggy and broken beyond repair. Absolutely shameful
    One would expect improvements over the original game, but this is worse than the original.

    I never played the original, but was always interested in it. When I saw in PS store, it was an instant buy. And an instant regret. The game looks cute, and it's fun. But the framerate is all over the place (have no idea why, it is not a too demanding game): upon new notes it drops to single digit, that can be very disorienting. The easy/normal switch does not seem have any effect. LooksI never played the original, but was always interested in it. When I saw in PS store, it was an instant buy. And an instant regret. This game is really challenging and people always complain about that, which is fair.

    But I'm complaining about how they didn't even bother to remaster the cutscenes.

    es genial que volviera a traer a parappa con un remaster pero no estoy muy a gusto con este, en primer lugar, el juego parece extrañamente mucho mas fácil, hay algunos errores visuales como la lluvia del stage 6 y las cinemáticas se ven feas

    Graphics = 9/10
    Sound = 8/10
    Extras = 5/10
    Control = 2/10
    Final Score 4/10

    PaRappa the Rapper looks fantastic with upgraded HD visuals, and has never sounded better than it does here on the PlayStation 4. The problem though, is the severely imprecise controls, which can turn this game from fun nostalgia to pure frustration very quickly.

    For some reason the game feels broken on the 4th stage (Cheap Cheap the Chicken). I have very few problems up until this point, often getting near perfect on all button presses, but on this stage I failed 10 times in a row even though the button timing is matching up. I've played the original probably hundreds of times on the PS1 and PS2, and something is definitely off with the Remastered port. It reminds me a bit of the PSP version, which also had its share of problems.

    It's a shame they didn't bother tightening up the rhythm portion of the game as it makes up about 90% of the experience! As well as what I feel is broken on stage 4 (and possibly later levels). If Sony can fix this with a patch it would go a long way to improving this flawed experience.

    Other stuff...
    The game remains virtually the same as the PS1 version, with the ability to save just 1 song replay and when a new one is saved it overwrites the previous one... Why?! They should have allowed you to save one replay for each song.

    It would have been cool had they included other extras to celebrate the hiphop puppy's 20th anniversary. Extras such as; character bio screens, archived English and Japanese TV commercials, or early artwork sketches. Developer interviews. Had this game been remastered by Naughty Dog, Insomniac, or Sucker Punch we would surely have some of these things.

    Also, while the main game is remastered in HD (or 4K if you have a 4K display and PS4 Pro), the rest of the game's FMV sequences are in their original low resolution format. It's slightly jarring to go from sharp looking HD back to a small windowed, what looks to be 240p, resolution movies. It would have been great if they stored the original videos in a higher resolution, such as what Sonic CD had done with their animated intro in the Sonic CD remaster release, but you can't really fault them for it.

    There also appears to be some remixed versions of the main stage tunes in which you can play with.
    This is a great addition to the game.

    I would only recommend this to someone who is a huge PaRappa fan and someone who doesn't easily frustrate when it comes to imprecise controls.

    I'm also not sure I'd recommend PaRappa the Rapper Remastered at it's current price of $14.99 ($11.99 for Plus members). This might be one to wait for a sale on. Unless, of course, if Sony fixes the issues.

    *UPDATE**
    A new patch seems ro have made it slightly more responsive.

    There's one good thing I can say about this game... You don't have to worry about blowing your money on the original for over $200! But, otherwise. If you're looking to play this game — Go ahead. I personally think it has much to be desired and manages to screw up things more than the original! Well, isn't that swell?

    It's a buggy, unpolished mess that leaves you thinking, "How come almost every remaster of a game ends up being trash?" Good question! I don't know. They screwed up the timing system even worse, stage 5 manages to completely erase the rain, and stage 4 has horrible input delay that'll make you wanna cry in a corner.

    What a disasterpiece of a remaster. Imagine - a modern remake of a rhythm game that 100% refuses to take in to account the input/audio lag issues of modern systems and TVs. It's not that hard to add in some audio/input lag calibration.

    And then imagine they didn't fix the already buggy timing layout from the original. Should you hit the timing right on the beat? Before? After? Well

    Should you hit the timing right on the beat? Before? After? Well that DEPENDS on the song, the line, and in some cases, you hit late at the start and early at the end in the one line. You fail levels when PaRappa sounds perfect, and he sounds like he's having a fit when you pass them.

    Crap, crap, crap this game in to the bin.
