    If we told me this dlc was actually a sequel to the outer wilds I would have believed it, if offers so much new content, new story, gameplay mechanic, incredibles ideas and music, this could be one of the best dlc for a game that was already a masterpiece

    I think this does an admirable job of bringing the same surprise and wonder that the base game did. But I wish they were more clear about what the Reduced Frights option did, because when I got to the relevant section, I was frustrated and annoyed and ultimately bored. It's also especially punishing to people who are bad at that section due to all the extra journeying you have to make, soI think this does an admirable job of bringing the same surprise and wonder that the base game did. And then I learned I could've made the game more accessible to myself and finished it alone, but it had never crossed my mind because being frightened was not the problem.
    So it's a very bittersweet 8: a splendid expansion, but while accessibility options are nice, please don't treat them as a mystery for players to work out. I don't personally feel cheated by not playing about half of it for myself because it was clearly a fabulous creation, it just absolutely wasn't for me.    … Expand

    Very good, but can't quite reach the stellar heights of the base game. I found the horror stealth sections to be particularly unpleasant, especially since I usually avoid any horror entertainment. Also, I experienced quite a few crashes and glitches playing on a PS5. But all in all, it was a really pleasant surprise that this game got any DLC at all and it is definitely worth the money.

    For me Echoes of The Eye is better than the main game: it is more approachable (the puzzles are easier to solve, and the game is more compact), it is spooky and it has great story and gameplay integration.     Despite a few flaws, Echoes of the Eye brilliantly replicates what made the magic of Outer Wilds, with a new area that is both puzzling and awe-inspiring, both sumptuous and mysterious. It's simple, the first few hours of the adventure are absolutely thrilling, when the player slowly takes ownership of the workings and secrets of an environment that seems to be there from the start. An excellent start, however, a little spoiled by new horror-oriented phases, where you will pace in the dark if you do not have the right information, at the risk of being spotted by frightening creatures and having to go back and forth. frustrating returns to try your luck again. As usual, you may also be frustrated if a crucial clue passes you by, Echoes of the Eye calling more than ever to be an observer. Otherwise, it's a complete success. A goodbye worthy of the name to the great Outer Wilds.
