    TOTAL SCAM ! The presentation deep dive video is misleading and fraudulent. The new presentation feature are only for 6 nhl team and play around 1 in ten game. But the 'full broadcasting option" has been cut from the game, letting only the "condensed" broadcast. Meaning that the intro with goalies stats are gone, most of the replay for check, save are gones.

Meaning that the intro with goalies stats are gone, most of the replay for check, save are gones.

    Presentation is one of the selling point for this game by EA sport, in fact, they cut most of it, so, it's the worst presenation for nhl franchise in years.

    Also, Women are not realy in the game. YOu can't edit them or use them in nhl season or franchise and female created player don't have long hair like the trailer. Female still has men hair.

    Also, in franchise, we can't change strategy anymore and in custom franchise, where we can supposely custom everything, all new nhl team that you create and add will have a random european existing team as a ahl team.    … Expand

    It's not terrible, it's just lackluster. There are some things that were in the deep dive video. Crowds are a lot louder, the strategies are there, It's a little faster going through the menus and loading into games. But as last year and the years before, they just added the bare minimum. Nothing groundbreaking like in Madden or Fifa. There's no option to have a full presentation or condensed, no goalie intro, no new stats look, none of the new animations. The menus look the same, they just added a new color overlay, so there's no overhaul of the menu. The soundtrack is horrendous, terrible and loud. It's a ripoff essentially. The reason I bought it was to play a NHL game without any of the game breaking bugs that occur in NHL 22, there are some bugs, but nothing crazy like 22.
    I only play franchise mode and other offline modes, as Ultimate team continues to be absolute bogus. It's essentially like they have like 25 or so developers making this game and all the rest just focusing on MADDEN and FIFA. Hopefully an update adds the new stuff they promised, but with EA, you literally have to take that with a grain of salt.    … Expand

    While I still don't like that the Superstar X-Factors are returning and found the Frostbite engine to be a bad fit, the improvements on the gameplay and other features make NHL 23 a very good ice hockey game.

    LOL Women in HUT...i guess some beta male developers will do anything to get laid. The game is still trash. The menus are slow and laggy, more so than last year. Oh wow glow sticks in the crowd... Paid 30$ and that was still too much. The gameplay is not better. Its not. Its not your internet, its not your tv, its not your console. It is 100% a trash product

    There is no excuse for the state of this game and complete reluctance towards improving any mode other than HUT.

    The only solution I can see is to take the pay-to-win micro-transaction cancer that is HUT and make it a free to download entity on it's own. They could then completely separate the development team who works on the actual NHL game from those who work on the absolute PoS mode    There is no excuse for the state of this game and complete reluctance towards improving any mode other than HUT.

They could then completely separate the development team who works on the actual NHL game from those who work on the absolute PoS mode known as HUT; which only exists because of the profit it generates from morons who are actually dumb enough to spend real money on intangible pieces of code who's value immediately becomes zero when the next game is released. I have purchased every NHL game from 2001-2023, but I will be boycotting this franchise until HUT is removed.

    Do not buy this game if you care at all about EA's complete negligence towards any mode other than HUT, or about combating micro-transactions in gaming. If you're one of the useful morons who continues to play HUT despite how it was patient zero in the pay-to-win pandemic, has destroyed the real NHL game that millions loved, and has spread the infection that is it's valueless model of micro-transactions to nearly the entirety of the gaming community, then this game is for you.

    I miss the days when hearing "EA sports, it's in the game" made me excited every October, rather than make me cringe.    … Expand

    No significant changes in gameplay; player ratings are a joke; you can't edit strategies; and the new format for editing lines is super tedious.

    It is ok game but ea should make lot of more bug fixes and listen community more but still people complain too much.

    The new hockey season may or may not satisfy the players. It depends on which previous edition you last played and what you actually expect from the game.
