You play as a kind of dream manifestation of a girl in a coma, called Rem, blasting away all the things she hates IRL in her dreamstate.
In this game, you don't have to take the bosses down per se... you just have to collect enough souls by repeatedly attacking them to finish the battle. Same goes with the levels. The levels are varied enough to keep it from getting tedious, with a wrench thrown in the works of the main formula here and there.
Lots of items and inventory to manage for that (mild) RPG touch.
Unlike many bullet hell games, it's not frustratingly difficult and will hand you items to help you out if you're floundering. Maybe the "git gud" crowd won't appreciate this, but we can't all dodge a million projectiles all at once.
The art design is awesome. The school level in particular, with its clutching hands and creepy malformed kids, gave off an eerie Little Nightmares vibe.
