A massive step in the right direction for EA! This is flat out a very fun fast paced basketball game that anyone can pick up and enjoy! I am excited to see what the future of NBA live holds!

NBA LIVE 15 is a game which ultimately proves difficult to evaluate for a host of reasons. Should it be evaluated compared to its predecessor, NBA LIVE 14, a game which was miraculous in that it even saw release to store shelves after EA SPORTS' hiatus from NBA titles since NBA LIVE 10? Should it be evaluated in direct comparison to its competition, NBA 2K15, the standard for NBANBA LIVE 15 is a game which ultimately proves difficult to evaluate for a host of reasons. Should it be evaluated compared to its predecessor, NBA LIVE 14, a game which was miraculous in that it even saw release to store shelves after EA SPORTS' hiatus from NBA titles since NBA LIVE 10? Should it be evaluated in direct comparison to its competition, NBA 2K15, the standard for NBA simulation gameplay which has built up a sterling reputation in recent years (server quality being a lone failing)? In truth, NBA LIVE 15 feels like a game that knows better than to attempt to step up against the reigning king, but this awareness does not extend to the retail MSRP, which suggests that it is an equal value to the competition. The reality of NBA LIVE 15 is that it is a competent "change of pace" game for those who want a different take from NBA 2K15 or for those players overwhelmed by that other title's hardcore simulation, but it is hard to argue that the title is worth full price this year.

    GAMEPLAY
Depending on your background with basketball and NBA video games, NBA LIVE 15's on-court action will either engage you or leave you wanting more. As somebody who is not a basketball die-hard, the inclusion of a tutorial in this year's game from Day 1--something that NBA LIVE 14 was sorely lacking--helps the on-boarding process, though it's hard to overlook that it really only trains offensive gameplay and doesn't address defense. Offense feels competent enough--the right analog stick dribble moves are fairly user-friendly, even for novices--but the game seems content to reward three-point shooting over more complex play calling. On defense, steals seem overpowered in their effectiveness, while it can feel as though the offense has free reign when driving to the paint and especially in boxing out for rebounds when playing against the CPU AI. This year's game introduces shooting feedback to let the player know how successful they are at timing the release of a jump shot, and information under the player indicator helps provide instant feedback on whether the ball-handler is in a high-percentage scoring range and whether their shot will be contested. These help the gameplay experience, although it's still possible to score on sub-optimal releases that are contested just as much as it is to brick a shot with better release.

NBA LIVE 15 also introduces physical interactions in the paint, although at times it's hard to see these in action because there are visual glitches and animation interactions which don't appear to play by the rules of these new physics. Players can also warp around the court at times and the ball and limbs will pass through other players' body parts with enough frequency to disrupt the immersion and frustrate the experience. The game also uses on-court graphics to display play-call setups, but even in the game's "Rising Star" mode (the single-player career option), going to the circles still fails to trigger continued play-call instructions more often than not.

    PRESENTATION
Visually, NBA LIVE 15 has benefited greatly from an extra year of work, with NBA players and especially the superstars looking more accurate in-game compared to their real-life counterparts. Players like LeBron James, who looked like rough approximations of their true selves in NBA LIVE 14, now come much closer thanks to EA SPORTS' dedication to advanced facial scanning technology. As mentioned in gameplay, however, players still tend to lack full physical tangibility, and the best scanning tech in the world can't compensate for players passing through each other and morphing into one another.

The ESPN NBA presentation package returns, though it is disappointing that this year's game also fails to organically present highlights of big-time plays as they happen. Pushing in the left analog stick after a play is the only reliable way to get in-game highlights, and these lack the style and visual pizzazz of a real-life NBA broadcast or the presentation found in competitor NBA 2K15. The NBA has a strong character and visual identity that does not show through NBA LIVE 15's broadcast package.

    GAME MODES
Despite other shortcomings, NBA LIVE 15 has a well-stocked game mode suite, including its take on EA SPORTS' popular Ultimate Team mode as well as single-player and team Career options, the ability to play along with the current season, and the ability to re-live or re-write big moments from real-life. Despite the number of modes offered, however, their depth is still lacking in direct comparison to the competition.

    OVERALL
NBA LIVE 15 is a fun game of basketball that has value and and appeal to a particular audience; in this way, it is an achievement to be celebrated compared to last year. However, it is still not on the same level as NBA 2K15 despite sharing a price point. If NBA LIVE 16 continues an upward trajectory, we may well see next year's game give full value; for now, waiting for a price drop is advised.

Live 15 has it's swagger back. Is it a great game? Not yet, but it's polished. It has superior arena models to 2k. It has superior player models to 2k. It has much more fun gameplay then 2k, and in the end, gameplay is all that really matters. Tiburon did a fantastic job with this game. I can't wait to see what they do next year!

NBA Live 14 ended up being a decent game after various patches that were available through the console and in-game. It was still full of painful reminders that the game is nowhere near where it should have been last year. NBA Live 14 ended up being a decent game after various patches that were available through the console and in-game. It was still full of painful reminders that the game is nowhere near where it should have been last year. One year later we get the next iteration of the series with NBA Live 15, and it is clear that it has been vastly improved, and has room to really grow.

Two things stand out immediately as vast improvements over last year. The gameplay and the graphics. As for the gameplay, it is so much more fluid, and unlike last year, you have the ability to run the fastbreak and run it well. The shooting mechanic and the feedback that comes along with it is very helpful. It will take a while to get a good rhythm going, but once you have the shot down, then it represents a realistic result in terms of being open, the skill of your player, and etc. Another thing that helps out the game play is spacing of the players; which is a key to be able to run a successful offense.

The graphics are another thing that have received a giant overhaul for Live 15. Using the Face Scan technology definitely helps make things look more realistic, especially compared to some of the models last year. The crowd is also noticeably more alive as well, but not only do they look good, but the crowd atmosphere is AMAZING. Their reactions to the action on the court is the best it's ever been in the series, and makes the drama of taking a three or a buzzer beater real.

The downfall of the game is the fact that no new game modes were added to the game such as the popular ADIDAS Live Run, or an Online Dynasty. With the time spent upgrading the core of the game, it came at the sacrifice of adding new features. With that said, the better gameplay makes Rising Star much more enjoyable. In addition to that, there are more presentation features within Rising Star that make it a much better mode than last year, but there isn't any kind of branching story line or anything. Just play and earn your goals.

One of my favorite modes from last year was Big Moments where you try to match real-life situations from actual games throughout the year. One of the coolest additions to this mode is a challenge where you have to match the player's shot chart to succeed. For example on Melo's 62 point game last year, they give you the exact 7 spots on the court where he hit shots in the 3rd quarter, and you'll need to make one from each spot to pass. Along with Big Moments, my favorite mode from NBA Live 14 was Ultimate Team, and obviously the improved gameplay helps here as well. In addition, the inclusion of an auction system is HUGE so you can save up to purchase the players you want for your Ultimate Team.

There is a lot to like with NBA Live 15. The franchise is going to a place where fans of the series want to see. While we didn't get a huge step in features this year, all of the improvements made have enhanced all of the current game modes and everything is just more enjoyable to play this year.

I am having a blast with NBA Live 15. It's a fun game of basketball. Graphics are gorgeous and gameplay is balanced. Solid foundation for years to come. If there was a come back player of the year award in sports gaming, Live15 would get that honor. Kudos to EA for sticking with it and taking past criticisms to heart. Been a solid year for EA Sports as a whole.

Let's fact it, it you played NBA LIVE 14, you know it didn't exactly set the video basketball game world on fire. Thankfully, EA SPORTS makes a lot of effort this year to make NBA LIVE 15 a fun game to pick up and play. Once the game boots up, it gives you the opportunity to pick your favorite team. Being a life long fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, I choose LA. NBA LIVE 15 has many different modes to chose from so you will never get bored playing the same game over and over again.

    Here's a look at them:

Tip Off: Play a game of the teams your choice.

LEARN LIVE Adidas: This is a great feature that lets you practice and learn how to play the game. You can hit the hardwood by going over your favorites moves, crossovers, dunks, etc. Giving players the chance to learn how to play the game before actually playing a game is a real plus in my book. More games should offer this feature.

LIVE ULTIMATE TEAM: This mode lets you build your own NBA Team by opening packs of cards featuring the today's NBA Players, Coaches, NBA Jerseys, NBA Contracts and NBA Arenas. You can buy or sell items you have in the Auction house to create your own Ultimate NBA Team. It's a great way to build your very own NBA Franchise from the ground up. Warning, once you get started playing this mode, it's highly addictive.

HEAD2HEAD: You can go online and face players from around the world. One thing you don't have to worry about is not being able to get online like a certain other NBA game that's on the market now. The server stability in this game makes it a great way to play friends, family or people you don't even know online.

DYNASTY MODE: This will give you the opportunity to be the General Manager of your favorite NBA Team. You can choose from many different gameplay options. You can use current NBA Rosters or have a Fantasy Draft to pick from today's great NBA Players. You can also pick how many games you want to play in a season as well as choosing what difficulty you want to play on. Other options include Playoff Length, Quarter Length and Simulation Quarter Length. With so many things to choose from, you can be the NBA General Manager of your dreams. Sadly, there is no Online Dynasty Mode but maybe that is something can be added to future versions of the game.

JORDAN RISING STAR: This will let you start your career as a up and coming NBA Star of the future. You can give your player the appearance of your choice by choosing from many, many different body types, tattoos, hair styles, head shapes etc. Once you create your Player, pick the position you want him to play on the court. Do you want to be a big lumbering Center, a tall, swift Power Forward or a Point Guard that has mad passing skills and is deadly behind the three point line? The choice is now yours.

NBA REWIND: Try your best to rewrite NBA History and how the games turn out. It's a very challenging task but it can be a lot of fun if you put your mind to it.

The game also has a NBA LIVE MIXTAPE to listen to and NBA LIVE videos to watch. It has features a Game Manual to show you everything you need to know on how to play the game.

Presentation wise, the game has never looked better. The players in the game actually look more like themselves than ever before. Also, NBA LIVE 15 features a great ESPN Presentation. If you watch a lot of NBA games on ESPN like I do, you will notice how similar the game looks and feels to an actual ESPN game you watch on TV. Commentary is once again called by Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Breen.

In closing, NBA LIVE 15 is leaps and bounds better than NBA LIVE 14. It still has work to do if the series wants to reclaim the title it once had as the best basketball title on the market. Right now, that title belongs to NBA 2K, but if this game is any indication of where the series is headed, there just might be a new king in town in just a few short years.

So I have been playing Live a lot lately and I do enjoy it. There are moments of frustration on the court but overall the game is solid. Also when I picked it up on day one, guess what? THE SERVERS WORKED. All features were open and working, a nice touch that 2k didn't even think about. Online gameplay is smooth and to me is the best part of any game, WORKING ONLINE.

When it comes to graphics I would say 2k has the edge BUT when I play them ,they are two different games in my opinion, a friend who owns them both as well put it well in my opinion. 2k is like battlefield and Live is like COD. Live has a fast tempo and feels like the old NBA Live series that I loved so much , its just a fun game to play. I have had the game in my ps4 for a week straight playing games and the fun factor outwieghs what 2k has over Live for me.

I think next year there will be a lot of folks having to make a tough choice if they plan on only buying one of these, at this rate NBA Live will give 2k a good run for there money. I would like to see some other game modes added like team play added and a tweek here or there but overall this is well worth the purchase. The fun factor is back and i'm loving it!

Last year I called NBA Live 14 the "Darko Milicic of basketball gaming" due to how rough that game was, yet the raw upside potential the game had going forward if nurtured and developed correctly. I can most definitely say that if Darko was given the treatment this game has received in Live 15, it would be clear to see that the game has the potential to be a legit contender for the best basketball game out in a few years time. Since I'm all about the gameplay, that's where my emphasis will be.

    Gameplay Positives:
From what was done last year, the ball physics are done the best yet again, and now another layer of tangibility is added with the ragdoll physics that take place on shot contact in the game. It shines brightest with the activity that takes place in the paint. Whether it's the contact of a big body defender preventing a clear drive to the hole with a hard contest or a ball handler like Lebron James going hard to the rack for a posterizing dunk over a not so hot defender like Mike Dunleavy. Also on jumpshot attempts. It's good to see for the most part when being called for a shooting foul. I go into instant replay and a good amount of the time, when it's a shooting foul from outside the paint, it's nice to see where the contact was actually made to draw the whistle. This needs to happen in all sports games where physics and positioning dictate gameplay outcomes over hard-coded animated sequences at all times.

I also like the dribbling system in the game that was brought back from NBA Live 10, as it adds a lot more control which was missing to a moderate extent in Live 14. The startup refinement to the post game is nice to see, but needs a lot more detailed work and depth added as well for both offense and defense. On the defensive side of the ball, I do like there were more steps added when facing the ballhandler, also the fact that the animations added don't have too many animated sequences (even though some still exist) where you feel like you have no control over the outcome of the situation. Plus the shot feedback/fatigue gauges on the player (with the option to turn off is a nice touch) is a much needed addition to the game as well. There's a good base here, with plenty of room for growth, depth and development for sure in future installments if capitalized on correctly.

    Gameplay Negatives:
Problems with the game is that even with the 600 animations added in this year, it still does feel stiff in terms of the overall player movement, dribbling, post play, and defensive transitional animation flow. You still have animated sequences that'll pop into place unrealistically to play out just for the sake of matching what the offensive player wanted to do. Even with the phsyics in place, you still have a good amount of times where the defender's physical stature isn't being properly accounted for and the offensive move performed gets free reign over whatever the defender does (ex: Jarret Jack drives down the lane for a layup right at Dwight Howard and will follow through without meeting any resistance as Howard gets knocked down or will flail back due to the ragdoll physics). The defender will either get ran over as if he's not there at all, or he'll get slid out of the way as the player on offense makes his move. This is a must fix for the future. The success of shots being made, ability to steal the ball, convert on alley oops and block shots is way too high. The success rate of these elements is what makes the game more arcade-like then a truly pure basketball simulation title and it really needs to be balanced out properly going forward if possible.

In conclusion, this isn't viable for the best basketball game to date (not yet), but in my honest opinion, it is the best NBA Live title to date since the days of XBox 360/PS3 with Live 10. Like I stated at the beginning, as long as EA keeps building this game up properly, in a few years it could be an elite top tier basketball title. Right now though, this game gives you an arcade/sim-like experience as this game has an arcade basketball feel with simulation gameplay elements. Hopefully this will balance out as the title progresses forward in future patches and most definitely in future Live titles.

ShortlyThe very well revered history of EA Sports NBA Live, which stretches well over 2 decades and several generations of platforms, came to an abrupt stop shortly after NBA Live 10 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Soon after the Live 10 gaming season came to a close, and months after a new direction being filed for the EA franchise, the demo for NBA Elite came out to less than stellar reviews. Shortly thereafter, Elite was shelved and that began the 3 year hiatus for the storied franchise.

Fast forward to Live 14, the next generation of consoles were in our possessions and glimpses of hope and optimism were quickly subdued upon the release of the demo. The game released to poor reception, and quickly Sean O'brien came to tell us of the trials and tribulations that they had faced. Broken teams, shuffled development cycles, new technology. He and the Live team promised updates throughout the season which would help fix some of the core gameplay that plagued the early release. They held true to their word, adding several patch updates to the game throughout the season, even going as far to add a new practice mode for gamers to learn the new controls for Live.

I recently picked up the latest version of Live on the PS4, NBA Live 15. One of the first things that you'll notice when booting up the game, is how much more "finished" the title looks. From the Intro video, to the splash screens, it screams of a more quality title than Live 14 presented.

After the initial boot screen, you'll be greeted with a sorely needed tutorial and onboarding process. I have never been a big believer in tutorial modes nor onboarding processes, but when a game has been absent for several years, your mind is trained to play any basketball title as if you're playing the competition's game. Mission 1: teach new and old players alike the nuances of the new dribbling and control mechanics for NBA Live. One thing that you will come to realize during the onboarding process is how much control that you have at your disposal. You will need to learn the new fast break controls, shooting, as well as pick and roll mechanics. If you fail, prepare to be mocked by the cover athlete Damian Lillard.

After the onboarding process, you'll be greeted with an updated menu system. If you're a Madden player, then you'll easily be able to navigate the game's menu system.

Hopping onto the Hard court, you'll notice one of the biggest differences this year right out of the gate. The game truly looks like a next gen experience. Everything, ranging from the player faces, right down to the uniforms, accessories and shoes have been scanned and given the details that they deserve. We've seen the Visuals Trailer, we've seen shoe blogs, and we've seen stadiums and player screenshots. The media released this far does the game an injustice, which you'll get to see on your own high definition television. You can tell that the art team for NBA Live 15 is pushing the envelope and trying to bring the Live community a truly next gen looking experience.

Shortly after release, the NBA Live & EA Sports has already released 1 Title Update that added in the new courts that were just revealed for the season, as well as some new player face scans. This will be constantly updated as the season progresses, and the art team gets more and more player scans.

Once the whistle blows and the ball is thrown into the air, you'll notice that this is no longer NBA Live 14 as well. The game is a much more polished and fluid experience. Existing animations have been redone and a ton of new animations have been added. Player movement and explosiveness is captured with the fluidity and responsiveness that you would expect out of an NBA Superstar. One thing to note, is that with Live 15, if you spend time in the training facility, learning the moves and honing your "stick skills", you will be rewarded with a nicely animated game that you are controlling each precise movement. On the same token, if you want to play the game without knowing the controls, it'll work, but don't be surprised if your players take shots that look like they belong at the YMCA Little League Rec League. After the initial release of the GameStop Expo footage, I read the comments about the animation from George Hill, dribbling into traffic and throwing up a heavily contested, awkward fadeaway. That's the beauty of the game. If you want to do just that, the game will allow it. You're controlling it. The game isn't going to force you into an animation to keep the gameplay "pretty". That's up to you.

Venturing on into the gameplay, EA touted a collision system in the paint. Those of you who played Live 14 will consider this a savior. Often CPU opponents or online opponents in Live 14 would spin baseline from the post and get an easy bucket which was widely uncontestable. That is no more. If you go into the paint, be prepared to have your shot contested, altered, or blocked. The beauty of this is that the limbs are released to physics, making for some beautiful contests at the rim. No more predetermined outcomes. The play at the rim will be a direct result of your actions vs the opponents reactions. I can't tell you how many times I have went into replay after a play in the paint and marvel at the beauty unfolding in slow motion.

Speaking of collisions and contests, shooting fouls and contact are much more prominent this year. This will lead to some very interesting decisions in how you defend superstar players. James Harden is the first guy that I came to who really torched me, as I was unsure of how to properly defend him. If you back off of him to keep him from taking you off of the dribble, he'll have an easy look as a shooter. If you defend him tightly, be prepared to get James Harden'ed, as he'll use freestyle moves to get to the basket for the finish or the foul (or both). If you try to back off of him and contest the shot by jumping, watch your momentum as it may carry into him for the cardinal sin of fouling a jumpshooter. The contact on shooting is extremely well done as well. If you jump into the shooter from the side, be prepared to see him stumble or flop to the side. If you jump into them from behind, they'll fall forward. Jump into them straight on, and well, you get the point. Shooting fouls are very well showcased in this year's game.
Defensively, the game is flat out fun. If you lightly tether the player movement stick, instead of mashing on the defensive assist button, you'll likely have better results. Angles and forcing towards help will yield the greatest results. The games help defense is well represented as well. Helping the helper on various rotations is also represented in the game. You will have to work to get open shots in the game, which should be expected in an NBA release. Be prepared to see some weak side block attempts if you're playing the Clippers or Hornets as well. DeAndre and Anthony Davis will play to their strengths, coming over and swatting a shot from the weakside.

Moving on to working to get open shots, there are several ways to do that this year. How you do that, depends on your playstyle? Don't like calling plays? Using the pick system, you can choose which player to come and set the strength, and you will have a variety of options once they set the screen. Do you want them to roll, fade, pop or slip the screen? Your choice. Each team that you face, will have their own unique settings on how they'll be defending your pick n roll screen attempts, so this should dictate your offensive strategies as well.

One of the new features this year for offense is the use of the L1/LB modifier to call a quick action play. The game will prompt you to press L1 if your offense is stagnant, and you want to get some movement. You'll see a variety of quick cuts, back screens, and players moving with a purpose. This option is very nice to have because a lot of gamers want to run Isolation plays, and don't want unnecessary movement without manually calling for it. This is the perfect option for that.

One of the biggest complaints that I'm seeing so far is the lack of off ball movement altogether, until the L1 button is pushed. This was my biggest complaint last year as well, until we ventured into the menu system into settings, and turned on a little feature called Auto Motion. By default, the game has it set to manual. This is why the movement is so lackluster out of the box. My suggestion, upon first getting the game, go into settings and turn Auto Motion on, so you will get the best results out of the box. Utilizing auto motion, you'll see guys sprinting off of screens, using hard baseline cuts, popping out trying to get free for an open look. It's a thing of beauty to see a quick baseline cut off of a screen, and hitting a guy for a wide open baseline mid range jumper. What's even more beautiful is seeing the defender trying to catch up to him on the baseline, jumping to contest the shot, and having his momentum carry him into the shooter causing a collision for the "and 1" scenario.

In closing, NBA Live 15 is a HUGE step in the right direction when you get on the court. A few tips to help you get the most out of your experience:

    * Make sure you turn on Automotion to see the off the ball movement
    * Make sure you go through the onboarding process with Damien Lillard
    * Learn the games controls, and practice with them to get familiar with how each player performs
    * This is not the competitions game, so don't try to play it as such. The result of doing that will likely yield results such as the Gamestop Expo leaked video.
    * Don't be overly reliant on the Defensive Assist button. It's best used to "bump" someone if they're close to blowing by you, to prevent a straight line to the basket.
    * Use the defensive strategies for each individual player, as well as at team level. Want to run a 2-3 zone, with a specific way to defend James Harden (play tight, go over screens, etc)? Set it up. Want even more strategy, set it to pressure shooters as well. There are plenty of options to help contain even the strongest of players. The tools are there, use them to your advantage.

I'm not a writer, I'm a gamer. Give the game a chance, use the tips above, and I'd say you'll be more than surprised at the outcome. The game is flat out FUN. It feels like Live 10 on Steriods, and that is a great thing. Live is Back.

NBA LIVE 15 is significantly improved from NBA LIVE 14. As someone who enjoyed 14 (while recognizing it had room for improvement), I cannot go back to it after playing 15.

Most notably, visuals and animations move the game truly into 'next-gen' territory. A new Shot Feedback system and improved shot animations help make it very rewarding to hit open jumpers. Visually, the game is extremely sharp - you'll find yourself in replay mode watching player faces and capturing screenshots. The game added a vast number of new animations helping to make it look more realistic. As was the case with LIVE 10, game atmosphere and audio (crowd noise, chants, organ music, etc.) is top-notch.

The game contains the same core feature set as NBA LIVE 14, however all of them have received some sort of improvement. Ultimate Team now features an Auction House, Dynasty Mode has improved logic, shootaround mode now has a tutorial allowing users to learn the game, et al.

My biggest area of concern is CPU AI & logic (IE: running an offense, late game strategy, etc.). The feature set is solid, but the addition/return of Online Team Play & adidas Live Run (from Live 10) would have bumped the score into high 70s or 80s IMO. The game lacks a feature where multiple (online) users can hop on to compete, chat, and have a good time. Also, 'basic' animations (non-action) are still stiff at times.

In addition, a Photo GameFace feature for Rising Star would aid user immersion significantly.

If you are a long-time LIVE fan and/or enjoyed 14, I would recommend giving LIVE 15 a try.

Please, if you read any negative reviews on this giving the game below a 6. Do not trust that reviewer.

I am a fan of 2k and Live. Live this year brings a good game. You can pick this game up and have fun, and enjoy mastering the controls for an even more happier experience. The only thing stopping me giving this game a 10 is that some animations come off slow to preform. Its not a bad

Once again, EA fails to deliver a true basketball experience. While 2K is the better option this year, 2K has its share of flaws as well. Maybe one day gamers will see a good basketball game on console. Until then though, we can all dream of 1995 when basketball games on consoles were fun and engaging.

I'll keep this review fairly short and sweet. My review of NBA Live 15 is based on how it compares to NBA Live 14. NBA Live 15 is what Live 14 should have been. It has improved greatly over Live 14 particularly in the way the game looks graphics wise and the way the game feels. I feel like I can actually play and enjoy Live 15 to some degree, which is something I couldn't do with Live 14.I'll keep this review fairly short and sweet. Even though the game has improved it still isn't quite where it needs to be to keep my attention. Overall the game just feels like an arcade game to me. It is fun to play and I can appreciate that but to me the feel of the game is off. It's still feels stiff at times and there are a lot of animation pops. My biggest compliant area is the play in the paint. At times it feels like weight and momentum means absolutely nothing. There is too many times when you can push your way through the lane and get to the basket. You even see times when the defenders actually slide on both feet as you push them out the way. Stuff like that kills the experience for me.

In conclusion I think Live 15 is a foundation game and has improved, but it's still going to be a few years before they are a legit contender. I'm very curious to see where Live is by Live 17.

NBA Live 15 is yet ANOTHER bomb from EA. If you can't make good basketball games, just stick to your old FIFA formula! Live 14 was abismal. And the Ignite engine was broken and clumsy, the ball handling was weird and the dunks felt awful. Well, EA wanted to improve on 14, so they can beat the 2K franchise in basketball, which is a hard task, because 2k14 and 2k15 are excellent. Live 15NBA Live 15 is yet ANOTHER bomb from EA. Well, EA wanted to improve on 14, so they can beat the 2K franchise in basketball, which is a hard task, because 2k14 and 2k15 are excellent. Live 15 improves, but only 1.1% more. The graphics are the only thing that have improved, character models look sharper and are filled with great detailed, the environment around the players looks like Tiburon put a great amount of work into it. The amount of crowds increases, and surprisingly, it holds more packed punch in the detail layer than the 2k series. But all that doesn't matter when the game isn't good. The handling is still awkward, and the ball (while looks improved) doesn't go through the hoop, even when you have an excellent release. The modes are a huge ripoff of 2K, like CAREER, MANAGER, etc. And EA also copy one mode from THEIR own game series, the Ultimate Team mode is added from FIFA to NBA! And it works like sh*t. So, Live 15 is like 2K15, but watered down to every game mode as possible, add to that bad controls, and even worse, the difficulty. Even when you play well, you don't get rewarded, grinding for gear is tougher than ever (even tougher than that turd, Destiny!) and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest is product placed with many companies to make extra profit. But we all know why EA ventures into all sports categories even when they suck at any, for the lies and the profit. But there is a cool feature, to jump into any game going on in any score and play from there. And 2K can borrow from only that part. But everything else, 2K, keep on doin whatcha gotta do, because EA has a long way to reach excellence. Expand

Ball tangibility (the ability to steal the ball and have the ball be "live), Crowd atmosphere, presentation, and physics in the paint are all great points over its competitor. There's still a long way to go to compete with the 2K offering but it is very refreshing to have one of the best basketball titles in the history of gaming back in the fray. I hope that EA can weather the storm and continue to produce this title because it has promising features but it's not there yet. Expand

For someone like me who is not that into basketball, but got a steal of a price for this game, it isn't that bad.

I'm able to slam great dunks, make good jumpers, fadeaways, and hit 3's, what's more to ask for? The game may not look quite as good, have as good animations, or have as smooth as a framerate than NBA 2k, but the game is still fun to pick up and play without much

As a owner, of both nba 2k15 and nba live 15, I've found both enjoyable. Nba live 15 to me seems more of a realistic sim, if you set up the gamplay correctly (rating only on both shooting fgs and free throws). The game however does have small flaws, but so does nba 2k15. Visually speaking when you put the camera angle in overhead mode the game becomes pretty realistic looking, you can see sweat, light, amongst other things on the players which provides for a great gaming experience (2k seems to be darker without much lighting effects). Overall, if I was to compare each game I would give the upper hand to 2k15 for now, nba live however is on the right track. With more dynamic animations like better fadeaways, easier fast break layups, along with some minor bug fixes, and some additional old school players/teams this game will be well on its way to glory once again. This game is worth picking up if you set it up like I did you will enjoy it as a basketball sim vs. The arcade feel provided in 2k. Expand

This game is the best basketball game that I have played in years. The game has smooth animations and gameplay. It has a fun factor that NBA2k15 will never be able to repeat. The game is super smooth to play with controls being mapped to the controller brilliantly, unlike 2k. When I go to spin and side step someone I don't want to be dropping back for a fadeaway at half court. Thanks 2kThis game is the best basketball game that I have played in years.
