    I cant give it anything less. The gameplay is outstanding, I keep coming back for more even if I didn’t have a great game because I always feel like I’m getting better. If you’re new don’t be intimidated, play the way you want and you’ll be successful

    The game is way more smoother and funnier than the 2k19 . Honestly the neighborhood is fun and allow you to relax with your friends between your matches . The soundtrack is cool . The story so far is very interesting . The gambling stuffs isn't very intrusive. So yup for me it's a deserved 10 . The game is lit !!!

    It's the best sports game in the market that offers simulation realistic basketball. Microtransactions don't really affect any of your experience and the game has so much depth into its games modes that makes it fun for a while

    as always the game is really good it has some improvements and has some bugs but overall i really love this game as every year i wont say its the best from the NBA 2K franchise but its defiantly worth the money it has many good features that other people would like all the negative comments are some haters who probably didn't even buy the game

    Honestly I'll admit I haven't been playing 2k for a while, but out of all the 2k's that I have played I think this is one of the better 2k's out there and that people are being way disrespectful about, I mean people who haven't even played the game are giving it a zero WTF

    NBA 2k20 feels stunning, the new MyTeam additions, MyGM and MyLeague modes are incredible additions to 2k's beloved basketball franchise. The MyTeam rewards have improved dramatically and the shooting mechanics are incredibly easy to pull off. This is truly a game that all basketball fans will truly love. A solid 10 out of 10, 2K!!!

    This is my favorite multiplayer game of all time. Giving the game a 0 is not going to change Take Two’s opinion of microtransactions. Just be honest and acknowledge how much fun you’ve had with the game compared to others. I didn’t spend any money on VC and still had hundreds of hours of fun.

    Der Online Modus ist völlig irrelevant für mich. Wenn du dir dieses Spiel kaufst muss dir bewusst sein dass es Pay2Win ist, vorallem in 2020. mein Tipp: kauf es im Sale. Hab es für 20€ bekommen und dafür lohnt es sich. 70€ ist das Spiel nicht wert, aber es ist trotzdem gut.

    The Apex of sports games post hot-fix update. Went from unplayable to a master piece. The new mechanics like aim shooting come with a learning curve but after a couple days you'll never look back. Shooting feels smoother than ever, however this 9 rating comes with the assumption shooting online will be patched so that it is fun to play

Where FIFA, Madden and seemingly ever sport simulation game from competitors struggle with stagnant unrealistic gameplay and shallow offline experiences, I commend 2K for their on the court simulation of basketball. This game has seemingly endless customization from expansion teams to the court and jersey editors allowing you to customize your team to your liking. Every aspect from salary cap, trade logic, free agency, gameplay, playbooks, progression and regression is customizable to user preference. Once sliders are dialed in the minute to minute gameplay and presentation is superb. Elite players knock down contested threes. Computer AI is intelligent and down right creative in spurts and each team evolves throughout the year providing unique challenges game to game. Minor issues are as followed. Traveling and charges are non existent and sometimes blatant. No slider set accurately culminates in proper free throws attempted per game. AI coaches rarely if ever use timeouts. Lastly ever half/fullcourt shot hits the rim. One minor gameplay improvement would be the animation regarding layups and overall control when driving to the lane. Bottom line, online aside if you’re looking for a deep and rich offline franchise sport simulation you’ve been deprived of from other titles “looking at you FIFA and Madden” and gameplay/customization and realism is the ultimate factor regarding your experience.     It's a great game the only problem is that it came out with many bugs so had to update it took me a long time to do so with my bad internet. However, the game is good as I remember playing this game 10 years ago and I can say It has improved a lot from then. So this game for me is good if not one of the best sports games I played.

    So far, it feels great to me. As a big basketball fan and somehow who appreciates hardcore simulation play, I notice lots of improvements. If you're looking for a more arcadey experience, this isn't it. You actually to need to be concious of player energy and not abuse the sprint button this year. Also, defense is improved and it's therefore harder to score, but that just means calling plays is more necessary. All in all, it's gotten more realistic and feels even closer to real basketball -- that could be a turnoff to some. And there's some interesting changes like new badges and Evolution cards (love this) in MyTeam.


    As a MyTeam player who doesn't spend any $ on VC, NBA 2k feels worth it to buy every year. I could understand MyCareer feeling like pay to win to some, but, really, it's more like "pay to improve stats faster." You can still play the game the way it's intended and level up your MyPlayer without spending $. I do also agree the company is pretty damn greedy and stuff like product placement is getting really gross... But what am I gonna do, play Live? Good one.    … Expand

    I'm currently about 13 hours into playing the game and can say that they're improvements to this years game. My team is grindy as ever, but I do like the implementation and drive for free content for everyone. My career may have the best story since 2K16, throughly enjoyed it. Gameplay is also improved from last year. All in all a fun game just with unfortunate amounts of grinding.

    I bought 2k20 about 3 months ago and here is my impression. I think that the development as far as dribbling and change in acceleration with players decent and smoother than some previous games. I think that there could be some more work done as far as the consistency of certain players especially in all time teams.     Pretty good game with lots of micro transactions. Unlike madden the game modes themselves are deep, fun, and interactive. Gameplay is very similar to 19 and remains relatively bug free and smooth. Servers are a main concern as they are slow, laggy, and buggy. Besides this 2k20 is a decent installment of the franchise.

    Another yearly iteration of the only Basketball sim available.
    I enjoyed what I played of it, which was pretty much the career mode which was as contrived, convoluted and cringe-worthy as previous years.
    I always end up overwhelmed by these games with all the game modes and such.
    Micro-transactions have no impact on me what-so-ever because I'm not stupid enough to buy them.

Notably, defense feels quite different. Lateral quickness is definitely a thing now and slower bigs will get absolutely roasted by quick guards.

    Also, you can pretty much respect your character, for all intents and purposes. The MyPlayer builder lets you see every single stat on the character before you start MyCareer. Also, you can test the build at any level with any badges, so you can get a halfway decent idea of what it will play like, as well as figure out what badges you need. Also, every time you earn a new badge you can go back in and change the badges that you selected previously (at least on my game I can). I'm not sure how much more of a respect you wanted. Of course they aren't going to give you unlimited refunds on VC (no company would do that, I don't think).

    The game is certainly costly, but 2k isn't the only game to use this model. A lot of games now are moving to the grind-or-pay premise. It doesn't bode well for gamers, but it's also not going to change either.    … Expand

    WNBA is really fun to play, but it's only available in PlayNow ._.

    **** Myteam. That **** sucks ass in every single way possible.

Cause here we can collect all this cards (playbooks, sneakers and other), what make it more interesting, than just farming player cards in EA plays.     As a basketball normie, this games gives me what I want. I get to throw a ball through a hoop and do it again and again. And that's great, because that's just about the only thing you can do without having to pay for it. If I hadn't paid like 6$ for this game I would have given it a much lower score.

While 2k claims they are making VC easier to earn, they can only claim this due to a deceptive change to the game. ForNBA 2k19 has some incredibly fun modes and gameplay, but it’s hampered down by an insane amount of pressure to make micro transactions (is it even “micro” if they want me to spend $50 all the time?) and comes off like a passive aggressive attack against their customers. While 2k claims they are making VC easier to earn, they can only claim this due to a deceptive change to the game. For example, last year $10 worth of VC only get a MyPlayer up to a 67 or 68, but this year, you can get it well into the 70s. However, they only lowered the cost of lower level VC. . You'll STILL need 200k VC, or $50 worth, in order to go from a 60 to 85, exact,y the same as 2k19, which is a difficuly task for an adult like myself who works 40 hours a week and has a family. Once again, The MyCareer path could have easily been called 'Return to the Grind” or simply, “give us your money mode.' This doesn’t even get into the casino elements that nearly everyone on here is complaining about (and justifiably, they’re right).

    Once you get passed the VC issues, the game is still fun in some ways. The new MyCareer story mode took a step back this year, but it’s not as cringe as 2k15-2k18. I wish they’d just focus on making a better MyCareer game then some a rather boring pre-NBA movie. I don’t think 2K has realized that players don’t care nearly as much about their characters BEFORE they enter the NBA, so maybe they’ll fix that in future games. I loved that they added the WNBA this year and hope they’ll expand it next year. They also fixed the “teammate” grading system from last year, making it much more fair. I also like some of the balance tuning they made to shooting.

    Overall, NBA 2K is a fun game that is hindered by it's desire to take the absolutely every penny they can get From it’s most devoted fans. I don’t hate 2k, I love them, basketball is my favorite sport and my hobby in many ways, I just wish 2k could take a step back and realize that their fangs are unhappy for a reason.    … Expand

    Thats it truly. The negatives in this game are astounding and it is sad to see the franchise fall so far. Gameplay is the exact same as previous entries of the last three to four years. They have added so many different badges and abilities now that they water down the original ones. With the micro transactions they have focused on MyTeam and MyPlayer more than anything in terms of game modes which really aren't that good either. The Franchise Mode/Online Play now features have not been updated outside of a change in the stock images they use and that's about it. 2K use to so great because of how players felt unique/themselves. Steph Curry could hit deep threes, Lebron was a tank etc... Now? You have to find guides or a user who edited all the players jump shots, packages etc to make them feel like themselves. Its a lot of work to put into a game that literally prides itself in being a basketball simulator. Some other basic things are truly broken in this game during gameplay as well including layups, dunks and just overall defense.

Absolutely but they need to realize that they can include a game with micro transactions can exist if they focus on other sides of the game for offline players as well. I doubt they will focus on anything else anytime soon though as this has been a progressive pattern for them for the last five years.

    -The actual basketball part of this game is mostly smooth, the spacing that the AI maintains is refreshing and reflects actual basketball strategy. You can play different styles (iso ball, just chuck up 3's, old school pound-it-inside) and execute any strategy if you're good enough.
    - The "MyLeague" mode is mostly unchanged, which is a good thing in my opinion. The salary cap rules are complex and difficult, but so are the salary cap rules in real life.
    - I've really enjoyed the "MyCareer" mode. It's fun, challenging, and rewarding. If you play through your first year, do every practice, and end up hot at the end of the year you can quickly level up your player and sign a new contract in order to get paid a ton of VC per game.
    - The neighborhood aspect of MyCareer is fun too. The easy matchmaking of it is well done.
    - I know badges aren't a new aspect of the game, but I moved from 2K14 to 2K20, The badges really bring out every player's unique skillset. I really enjoy them.

    Hate
    - The amount of cutscenes that you cannot skip, even if you turn all cutaways off in the options, is MADDENING especially in modes that aren't exhibition. I don't care what some random opponent player's stat line is. I don't care what my player's stat line is. I can look that up. Bringing the game to a screeching halt to tell me what my opponent's upcoming schedule is or what the standings are drives me nuts every single time. Having to watch blatant product placement (i.e. the "State Farm Assist of the Game") and not being able to skip it sucks. It really takes away from the great "on court" product.
    - On a similar note, any aspect of gameplay where the ball is not in play is super staggered and filled with unnecessary animations. Why does the referee need to take 10 seconds to tell everyone there's one free throw left? Why can't 2K ever fix the "make a basket, the ball bounces away, and the inbounder slowly walks after it, picks it up and slowly walks back to inbound it" glitch? It's literally been in the game since I started playing 2K in the 00's.
    - Having to "quit out to the main menu to update" during a game, only to get hit with a VC ad is super slimy. Like really underhanded stuff.
    - The game is riddled with microtransactions. As I stated above, I purchased the game for $25 dollars so I was cool with dropping another $30 into the game to start out with a better MyCareer player. If I bought the game for $60, I'd be pissed.

    Overall, the on court product is fun enough for me to give this a high rating. But man does 2K do a good job of making me hate this game at points.    … Expand

    - training process in Bball Team Gym is so bad, I can't choose what to train.
    - RPG system is very complicated and bad. Stamina and Speed and acceleration now its not possible to manually upgrade.

    Buggy as hell in My Career mode. Somehow 2k have managed to progressively make this game. worse. The worst bit though is the blatant pay to win and locking accessories and such behind a paywall. For a full=price game it's appaling. 2k have become worse than EA, and that's saying something. There's no reason to buy this game every year. It's now largely a Sims simulator with over-priced bling.

Honestly, Dwight Howard’s hands are above the basket same with Wilt and Kareem. They should not miss 5 lay up attempts in a row, let alone at all. DO NOT PAY $60 FOR THIS GAME! DO NOT PAY $30! It’s not worth it. I would wait for it to be extremely cheap on sale, or wait for it to be one of the free games on the month.     I just created an account just to state how mad and disapointend I am about the franchise. This cannot keep going. I wish so hard that EA would come back with a decent basketball video game to give 2K a lesson.

    They killed the myGM mode, and each year it's only less and less customization in every game modes. I already sold my copy.

    Hands down the worst NBA 2K I've ever played. I got it for half price on boxing day sale and even that is not worth it.

    I am a huge NBA fan and this game is a huge disappointment. Don't waste your money on this game.

The dribbling in 2k20 is garbage compared to the dribbling in 2k19. 2019 was just a way more polished game and way better of a game then 2k20.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been a 2K fan since the Sega Dreamcast when the game was actually quite good but over the past few years with the addition of "My Team", it's become nothing more than a cash cow with card packs, etc.

    You can't build a decent team without buying packs and the challenge rewards are awful at best. Once you beat "Domination" in My Team, it's pretty much a done deal unless you like playing "Unlimited" which requires you to win 12 straight games to get the prize something most can't do in one sitting.

    At its core is a solid basketball game, but it's plagued by long load times, unskippable cutscenes, and of course the scumbag microtransactions.

    It's a shame. They have the foundations of a really good game here, but they just can't help themselves
