Dec 5, 2020Love it! Atmospheric Iso-Pixel Action RPG. Played 8 hours now. Somehow the playstyle reminds me on Salt and Sactuary. Good Bosses and MiniBosses, never felt unfair. Progress-System is minimalistic but works fine. Unfortunately No Maps, but I think this is intentionally chosen so. All in all a great one, when you Like those Kind of Games.

Jan 12, 2021Morbid: The Seven Acolytes could have been a highly enjoyable foray into the 2D side of Souls-like action. It features a compelling world, presented through stylish pixel art and good sound design, and really nails the highly entertaining bits of lore sprinkled throughout the world to make it come alive. However, some rather important missteps with the combat make the experience far too toothless, annulling the sense of fast-paced action and dramatically lowering stakes upon defeat. Rather than rising to the level of its loft inspiration, it instead feels buried alive, flatlining into a state of rigor mortis due to its plodding combat.

Jan 12, 2021Morbid is a nice first attempt at the genre by the poeople at Still Running and a good alternative for who is starving for a new soulslike game, but it can be improved in many areas and it's consistently lacking in originality.

Dec 21, 2020Morbid: The Seven Acolytes is an indie adventure full of ambitions… too many ambitions! Despite the Bloodborne-style inspirations, the game is full of personality, a clear reflection of an extremely passionate vision, with very strong artworks and sound design, but everything else is simply pretty weak. The low difficulty, boss fights aside, along with a very basic gameplay devoid of any challenge, hinders what could have been something truly interesting.
