Ever played Monopoly? Of course you have. Its fun to gather family around the dining room table for some good old fashioned entrepreneur debauchery every so often. Do yourself a favor, if you own the board game--just play that. Honestly as tired as Monopoly video games have become, this one still manages to make it seem MORE tired and broken than ever before. Do yourself a favor, if you own the board game--just play that. Honestly as tired as Monopoly video games have become, this one still manages to make it seem MORE tired and broken than ever before. The rules are the same as they were 30 years ago, just like the board, the pieces, the dice...its all EXACTLY THE SAME. You CAN create your own board/rules, but you'll have to spend another $20 for the "My Monopoly" expansion. There's also a nifty Monopoly card game, but that will cost you another $15. Its interesting to break these features (all available from the main menu) into separately charged functions, and could be a cool developer option in gaming moving forward. Paying for what you use is the coolest thing about the re-re-re-re-re-release of Monopoly though. A couple frustrating notes, why bother with a set of options when you cannot select/deselect any of them? Seriously, I spent 15 minutes on the option screen attempting this, it can't be done. I also found it strange that while the blue-haired mascot we all know and love does show his face on the title screen, he barely appears at all throughout the game. I never thought I would miss him, but not having his little animations to accompany my play was kind of a let down. If you need a classic Monopoly game on a new system, this is it. More and more however it feels like board game transitions to consoles are a fairly moot point. Just shell out the same dough for the physical/portable game that you can customize as you see fit. 5/10 Expand

Broken Game, played one round with a friend payed 300$ Taxes - EACH ROUND, until I went bankrupt (Oh Yeah, and I went 4 Times to Jail), whilst the other player got money from all angles. No Cap for stuff like that or whatever. Not for playing with other people because it will favour one player all the time.

0/10. I love Monopoly. It's too bad Ubisoft is making Hasbro look so bad by having such an awful glitchy game. I'll keep this short and sweet.

    - Can't splitscreen and play online with other people at the same time. - Can hardly finish a game without it crashing. Literally, I've played in 30+ games and finished three. Not bad enough? Games are usually 1-3 hours long depending how many

    - Can hardly finish a game without it crashing. Literally, I've played in 30+ games and finished three. Not bad enough? Games are usually 1-3 hours long depending how many people cheat and give everything away (see below). This is not my connection. It's confirmed.

    - Many opponents are childish and immature. Winning? Good luck with that, as soon as people start landing on your hotels they'll start trading everything they own to someone else instead of paying up just because they're mad that you're winning. Yep, Ubi lets people trade 3000 worth of stuff for free. I've experienced this in every single game. This is assuming you actually get to play that far without it crashing or the host leaving.
    - No dedicated servers. This means you have to hope and pray whoever the host is doesn't leave or lose connection for any reason, or goodbye 2+ hours of your life.
    - Bad timers. AFK person? Have fun waiting because it'll be a while.
    - Can't see how many people are in lobby while searching for games. Meaning you'll be waiting a while for people to join because no one has any clue how many people are in a lobby and scatter all over 10 different hosted matches.
    - There are more but I can't think of them. Just don't buy it, trust me.

This is a game that literally made me question this game's existence. Honestly I'm pretty sure there are free flash games out there on Kongregate that does the same thing as this game does.

I honestly really do question this games existence but hey, its here, it works and its just monopoly... I could just play this at home I suppose?, without any DLC or even on the internet somewhere

Does this game reinvent the Monopoly wheel? No, it doesn't. Does that make it a bad Monopoly game? Again, no, it doesn't. A classic game of Monopoly is exactly what you'll get, but with that said it's definitely a recreation that captures the enjoyment of the original very well. The developers have done a great job of making the Monopoly board come to life with a dynamic city and a meticulous amount of detail put into every individual property.

Don't let the "Plus" in Monopoly Plus deceive you however, there really isn't anything aside from the regular game here unless you purchase additional packs. As with the original board game, the true excitement of Monopoly comes from the people that you play with. The AI can be rather easily taken advantage of through the trading system, even on some of the higher difficulty levels, and the fact that not all of their in-game actions can be skipped may soon become a source of frustration. Playing this game with other humans is obviously where this game shines as it remains loyal to its Monopoly roots without the need for any gimmicks. I recommend this game not only for any Monopoly lovers who want a faithful console rendition to avoid the hassle of having to set up the physical board game but also for anyone who is just simply looking for a great local multiplayer experience.

Absolute garbage. Can't change rules on ps4. Bankruptcies on first trip around board because of stupid rules. Don't need to own sets to place hotels so the first trip around sees rents as high as $1000. If it was free I wouldn't recommend you waste your time with this game

Vuole essere un sostituto del gioco da tavolo al posto del tradizionale? allora lo fa benissimo.
Vuole andare oltre e diventare un gioco continuativo che spinge il giocatore a cercare partite online? No, affatto. Online fatto con i piedi.

It does what it is supposed to: enable you to comfortably play Monopoly with your friends without having to deal with all the pieces of an actual board game or arguing over some obscure rules.

This game is awful. Either it crashes or someone goes AFK or the host leaves. Dont buy it.

Considering I only play Monopoly every once in a while, this is a pretty good way to do it without having to bust out the physical board. Nothing amazing, but no real complaints either.

Could be fun, but unnecessary animations and ridiculous AI ruin it. Very easy AIs are at a 3rd grade level. Easy AIs don't get much smarter... They're just very lucky and the game makes you unlucky to prolong gameplay. Stupid and lazy, regret spending the 5 dollars on it.

Total garbage, wasn't even working when I bought it. Waited for it to get fixed, and when I was able to start playing it kept disconnecting me even though my net connection is perfect, and fast...

Not to mention how dumb the game looks... Makes u play in zoomed in view the whole game. Stupid. Monopoly on mobile is even better than this bs.

Broken game mechanics and extremely unrealistic gameplay. 1 simply does not land on income tax 4 times in a row or go to jail 3 times in a row in a single run on the actual board let alone consecutively on each run around the board or receive consecutive deduct chance cards 5 plus times straight. Better off just buying the actual board game instead of wasting money and data on unrealistic gameplay

It doesn't add much to what's familiar about Monopoly, but it's a faithful adaptation. [Feb 2015, p81]
