    Advertised as a linear expansion like the first two games, this expansion explains what happened in the metro of the Dead City. As someone who prefers the linear structure of the previous games in comparison with the open world levels, i was excited for this. Unfortunately, it is a disappointment.

    The expansion opens with the character you play as carrying a flamethrower, which is by far the most annoying weapon in Metro Exodus I've played with so far. It needs refueling ridiculously quick, and it loses pressure far quicker than the original flamethrower from 2033 and Last Light. Every action has this overly long animation to it, which is especially annoying if an enemy appears that attacks you within seconds. And on top of that, if the flame isn't on (which will happen a lot if pressure is too low) you can press the fire button all day and it won't do a thing. It's a choir to use.

    The opening level is an exercise in frustration as the difference in contrast between the environment and enemies is almost non-existent, and so you will barely see an enemy even if they are already attacking you. There are ridiculously pointless Quick Time Events and transition sections that are just there to mask the lack of gameplay and increase play time. Either 4A games is incredibly self-indulgent, or just plain lazy. Cinematics are NOT gameplay!

    After the first level you play a boring walking simulator. Characters give exposition that could have been delivered in mere minutes, but is clearly stretched out over an hour to increase the "playtime". And these sections could have been much better had they been done like in Metro 2033, where exploring gave you ammo, mini-games and a chance to upgrade your weapons. But without the ammo system these sections have become empty, and rely on desperately trying to hold the attention of the player. Such a shame.

    Once the action finally picks up it becomes a total chaotic mess. Again, there's so little difference in the contrast between characters and the environment that enemies are almost invisible. Guns feel unprecise, and enemies are able to survive full clips of ammo...

    And then there are the bugs and glitches. Because my character was deadly wounded, the entire cutscene after it had the blood border around it. On top of that, once i could move again it wasn't registered as being there, so it wouldn't go away.

    I can go on about this expansion, but you get my point. It is underwhelming and in a questionable design state. I can't recommend it, and thankfully I got it for €4,- because it isn't worth more than that. I give it a 4/10, as i think it is a bad game expansion.    … Expand

    Очень интересное дополнение не схалтурили игра и длс хорошы атмосфера всё музыка на месте и сюжет 10/10для меня спасибо

    This DLC looks like previous Metro games - underground, small areas, darkness. The story tells about what was happened in Novosibirsk before Artem came there. Some moments are great - e.g. new year eve in metro. If you liked original this DLC is obligatory to go through :)

    I liked the add-on,I got what I wanted to find out by passing "Exodus"but I didn't get enough shooting from a conventional weapon.I liked the flamethrower,but there was little crafting associated with it.It was too short for me.But I got answers to my questions.The betrayal was obvious.The moment of Khlebnikov's death was very touching.There was too little loot, which was not particularlyI liked the add-on,I got what I wanted to find out by passing "Exodus"but I didn't get enough shooting from a conventional weapon.I liked the flamethrower,but there was little crafting associated with it.It was too short for me.But I got answers to my questions.The betrayal was obvious.The moment of Khlebnikov's death was very touching.There was too little loot, which was not particularly needed.And I did not understand the relationship with my son, too little was shown.I got the atmosphere, but there's no hippie end.Everything is very simple and does not load.I expected more.But it still seems to me that I need more explanations of the circumstances.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a short expansion to Metro Exodus that fills some more background information into the event that happen in the Dead City Chapter. I think my main disappointment is that you sadly don’t get to play as Colonel Miller and instead only see him in cutscenes. Sadly a lot of the best parts of the game are missing and you mostly just walk around in the dark with a flamethrower, which is good fun to use but doesn’t let you do much in the way of customisation. There is also a lot of slow chatting between characters for such a short game which really seems to emphasise the poor character animation. Still it’s a cheap DLC so you should get it if you like Metro Exodus.… Expand

    Идеальнейшее DLC. Которое:
    1) Из открытой локации возвращает в Метро, дарит отличный игровой опыт от оригинальной части.
    2) Рассказывает самостоятельную историю и в тоже время, непревзойдённо дополняет красками финал оригинальной игры. 3) Дополнение не затянуто и всё работает на то, что бы подарить незабываемые впечатления от истории. 4) История и финал прописаны идеальнее некуда. Пишу    Идеальнейшее DLC. Которое:

    Мне показалась немного короткой эта DLC, но история очень трогательная. Приятно было вернуться в лабиринты метро, но не понравился чрезмерный упор на огнемёт.

    Metro Exodus: The Two Colonels is light on action and heavy on narrative, but will please dedicated Metro fans with its gripping, even unnerving, lore. While its smart story succeeds in engaging the player dramatically, the lack of extended gameplay sequences may leave some feeling like they're watching an interactive movie, rather than playing a new chapter of an action-adventure title. A short journey, yes, but still a trip worth taking.

    Metro Exodus: The Two Colonels is adequate in every sense of the word - it doesn't do anything impressively well nor insultingly bad. It's just okay, and while that might be enough to convince fans of the series to take a short trip underground, it's something that anyone else can safely skip.
