Oct 11, 2015I knew this game would be mediocre once it was announced it was being developed by western devs. What I didn't know though is that it was going to be absolute crap. What a shame, MGO is dead.

Jul 2, 2016Way worse than its predecessor. Most people just run around with auto-aim enabled (which is way overpowered in this version) or in vehicles. No skill or strategy involved whatsoever. Also, very few game modes to choose from.

Feb 22, 2019Metal Gear Online is not that great, full stop. You can create your own character, which is cool, but it's unbalanced and got fairly boring pretty quick for me. Metal Gear Online does comes free with MGSV, but even that's not worth playing in my opinion.

May 22, 2019I think it was a good idea and have a different MultiPlayer, however the final result isn't so functional; Too much LAG (come on, Battlefield 3 is 10 times bigger), the mechanics don't turn out and are not used as expected although the customization is good. It has few modes and they are not so entertaining.

Nov 21, 2019Online had Good gameplay mechanic, but matchmaking is orribile, full of bug and lag, heavy unbalanced, only 4 mode and only 1 of them is played right now... Konami left this online to die as soon as it started... Also people are using glitch and other bug to take advantage during match, and player like robertino87 are noob and use the under map

Aug 21, 2022Metal Gear Online is fun in concept, but in practice, it feels like nothing more than a lifeless COD clone.

CD-ActionJan 12, 2016Metal Gear Online has a great potential, but the developers need to improve and rebalance the game to make it shine. Playing it right after it was released felt like driving a supercar on a road ridden with potholes. [13/2015, p.56]

Pelit (Finland)Jan 4, 2016The new Metal Gear Online is a satisfying online romp based on the singularly best game mechanics the MGS series has ever seen, as experienced in MGS5. One only wishes to see the same level of variation in maps and game modes as in the extensive character customization. [Nov 2015]

Jan 4, 2016We are far from the tactical gameplay of the old Metal Gear Online games, since the new gameplay is definitely simpler and more action oriented. It still has quite a lot of potential, but some unbalancing and questionable choices keep it from being as good as it could.
