    Best Spider man game ever made! The Graphics are incredible. Im running it on the ps4 pro with a 150 inch OLED HDR 4K TV and it looks absolutley stunning. I can only highly recommend this game to everyone and if you are already a PS4 owner it is a must buy! xD

The music is recognizable, but with the own twist of the composer from insomniac. The graphics are smooth and beautiful nothing wrong to say about that. Insomniac just did the Holy Grail of the superhero genre of game. The storytelling of resistance, the gameplay of sunset overdrive and the humour of Ratchet and Clank have prepared Insomniac games to create the greatest Spider-Man game. It an absolute buy for every fan of the web-swinger and for every ps4 owner. (sorry Xbox players)

The graphics are superb, music is very heroic reminiscent to the avenger's score, story is like watching a summer blockbuster movie. I will pay to see the cut scenes in theaters. You can see insomniac's love for the character and the dedication they put to give us fans a game worthy of Spider-man'sAmazing game from insomniac.     Spider-Man is a character I have always wanted to like but I have always failed to connect with, that was until I played the new PS4 game released just last week.
    The gameplay is extremely engaging with fun combat and addictive movement.
    The audio is extremely well done with 2 recordings to represent whether Peter is moving or just hanging out.     Story, now this is where the game wins me over completely. It is rare in any medium that characters feel like real people and even rarer still in a video game, the team who scripted, voiced, performed and animated these characters manage to bring such life into their characters and moments that bring you into their world. There were several moments toward the end that created genuine emotional responses that I am man enough to admit involved some wettening of the eyes.

    TLDR: If you have a PS4 buy Spider-Man, if you don't have a PS4 buy a PS4 and Spider-Man.    … Expand

The story is the most surprising part though, as it tells a really personal and emotional Peter Parker story that is as strong as the best Spider-Man movies. Web swinging is such a pleasure and so much fun, I can't imagine how much time and effort it must have taken to nail down the web swinging aspect alone to look & feel right while also keeping it fun. The game has great story, characters, visuals, animations, gameplay, combat, sound design you name it. Insomniac Games' hasLots of great moments that stood out to me in this spectacular game.     Pros: - Traversal - the make or break of any Spider-Man game and I can confidently say that Insomniac got the feeling of Spider-Man down in this game.     Pros:
    - Traversal - the make or break of any Spider-Man game and I can confidently say that Insomniac got the feeling of Spider-Man down in this game. It is simple enough for anyone to just pick up and try, but has enough nuance to it for seasoned gamers to feeling challenged in how to efficiently swing around. I probably spent more time just swinging around than the actual missions because it just feels oh so good!
    - Combat - combat truly feels like Spider-Man as the 'acrobatic improvisor". The mechanics are similar to the Batman Arkham games, but it feels like Spider-Man with the way that he attacks, dodges, webs, and zips around a group of enemies. The action sequences are done well enough where it feels like a battle you'd find in a movie.
    - Graphics - to put it simply, this game is just beautiful. We are now getting to the point of this generation's lifecycle where developers have figured out how to maximize the potential power from the PS4 and this game shows it.
    - Story - this felt like a Spider-Man story without retelling the same old story we've heard in the past in different medias. The entire story from beginning to end just felt so cinematic like I was living out an epic Spider-Man movie and not just playing a game
    - Map - This Manhattan may be the best Manhattan map we've had in a video game. It is not a 1:1 scale or exactly identical to Manhattan, but it is done well enough and truly feels like Manhattan. Real life locations are "where they're supposed to be" even if they're not in the exact location
    - Easter Eggs - Spider-Man has 50+ years of lore and Insomniac Games seems to have placed easter eggs everywhere in this game! From the characters you interact with, the collectibles, and even random landmarks around the map. This place is filled with easter eggs!
    - Photo Mode - I've never really cared much about photo modes in other games, but being Spider-Man and the beauty of the character and the map got me really into this. I've spent at least a quarter of my play time just messing with photo mode. I love trying to recreate comic book covers, movie posters, and other iconic Spider-Man poses all over Manhattan

    Cons (if I have to nitpick)
    - Side Missions & collectibles - all very vanilla for an open world game and nothing you haven't already done in previous sandbox games.
    - Variations of enemies - this isn't a knock on Insomniac but maybe just the lore of Spider-Man prevented them from having lots of a wide variations of enemies like we get in God of War.
    - Difficulty - I wish the game was a little more hard. I played it through on the most difficult setting and it was still relatively easy compared to other games. I died many times but I also breezed through many missions without dying once.    … Expand

    Big action sequences combined with small moments that create real intimacy and depth of character. Scenes played in trailers did real justice to the gameplay, not just quicktime events. Loved every second!

Only in the very end of the game did it become a little bit of a hassle to do the side activities aince the game throws a while lot of them at you at once while in the beginning it was kore of a slow trickle.

    The story isn’t mind blowing but it’s well acted and has a few twists you might not see coming. Of course if you are at all familiar with Spidey you know who the villains are going to be the moment you see them.

    The game looks beautiful and the open world is very well done. I will be visiting New York for the firat time soon so it’ll be interesting to see how accurate it actually is but based on comparison with google maps it’s fairly close if somewhat concised.

    Overall a pleasant surprise since there haven’t been good Spidey games in years.    … Expand

    I beleive that this game cool. There's a cool battle, in the previous games was not as colorful as here and at least you can Dodge. Also flying on the web is amazing, the feeling that you are flying. The story is interesting, funny, sad. Buy the game will not regret.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Definitely the best superhero game I have played to date. I have to admit that it's addicting as hell and after getting 100% completion and the secret photo ops for the ESU suit, i WANT MORE! This feeling originates from the enormous amount of filler content provided by the game, which while somewhat fun to do, still is too reminiscent of Far Cry busy work. Certain parts of the game, like forced stealth sequences as alternative characters while not long, felt somewhat unnecessary. I do understand their story purpose though. My big complaint are the boss fights, which are not mechanically diverse at all. I'm a big fab of Bayonetta and DMC, so when it comes to bosses in action games I feel like insomniac could have done better. Stun, press triangle, do 5 hits, repeat is not the worst thing in the world but it's a bit too simplistic. Even on the hardest difficulty i didn't have to restart any fights except Doc 3 times. Game is a million times better than Batman Arkham series, but in the grand total of things it's an 8 from me. Put DANTE IN NEXT TIME lol (I'm joking of course)… Expand

    Marvel's Spider-Man is a treat from start to finish. A definitive 10/10 title. Insomniac knocked it out of the park, especially for fans of the character. Here's to a sequel in the future!

    Spiderman on the pc4 is amazing! Great visuals and fun gameplay mechanics, power up your suits, build gadgets, gather collectibles and save the city. The combat is deep and Spidey has many different combos he can use to win in some hard battles. This game ranks up there with Arkham but with more fighting abilities and style. Another must own for anyone who has a ps4.

Insomniac did a great job and nailed it. There is no downgrade so dont believe those who didnt play..     - Graphics: Remember that whole scandal about some sort of downgrade with the game, well, I compared the forge from the E3 demo and retail, and they are not that far apart, though you can clearly tell there are some differences, one very obvious one is the lighting in both showcases, and the suit looks a little more cartoony, but closely still has a lot of detail, other than that, this game does truly look amazing, and the amount of detail you can see through the city makes you feel more immersed in the game, not like in previous open world spiderman games where every building looked the same and the same amount of grey and blocky textures could be seen, this game actually fills the details in the buildings. Though there are some cons to the graphics, yet a little nitpick I will discuss in a moment.
    - Combat: Yeah Yeah, we know what was your first thought when it came to this game, the Arkham series, and I don't blame you, there are very similar elements, though this one takes more liberties in regards with interactions with the environment, and the combos you can pull feel more creative than Arkham's counter and attack. I'm not saying Arkham's combat sucks, since it's one of my favourites, but Spiderman's gives different moves and brings some new ideas to even use the enemies as combat objets. I also tested to see if I could beat some battles with only square, and you clearly can't, you need to be very aware of your surroundings.
    - Story: I can't say too much yet about this one, the premise is great, taking down Fisk and new members appearing in the city, a new threat is coming in. Maybe this will change when I finish the game, but so far it has kept me hooked.
    Sounds: Not too much to talk about here, but if you buy this game, you'll know what I'm talking about
    Suits: They are lucky this section counters the one of the Cons of this game, because man, the suits you unlock are amazing, my favorite is the Noir, I don't know why, but I like the style of it, and every suit I'm able to unlock feels very rewarding.
    - Progression: Doesn't feel tedious at all, it also feels rewarding as well, and the token you use really take no time to aquire, so you don't have to stress at all on this one.

    Cons:
    - Cliche Open World Elements: Yes, it may not be much of a problem, since what is an open world without things to do, the problem would be that it brings stuff we have seen millions of times, collectibles, towers, repetitive "random events", and again, collectibles. Though, the good part of this is that they compensate by telling you where the locations of the collectibles are from the get go, but still, I can't let this one slide.
    - Spiderman's animation: This one is very nitpicky, since in the air everything is fine, what I want to dress is that personally I don't like how Spiderman runs, it gives me flashbacks of Mass Effect Andromeda's running animation, which looked very silly, but other than that, face animations and swinging animations are saved by Insomniac.
    - Announcing DLC early: Why? Why on earth would you do that, it gives you bad press, and makes you look that you took content out of the game to sell it as DLC, the game shows otherwise, but if the DLC turns out to be really short, I'm going to lower the score, but I really don't have much of a problem with it since, well you know, more spiderman.

    Conclusion:
    - I really love this game, It is on my top list of Game of the Year contenders, next to God of War, but most likely it will be beaten by Red Dead 2, but at least I hope it gets a nomination, this game is worth your time, and I'm really excited about the DLC as well, I hope Insomniac doesn't screw it up, but I have faith in them, so please, give this game a shot, I can guarantee it is worth your time    … Expand

    I am about 14 hours into the game at the moment and love it to the bone.
    Graphics are solid, the city is amazing, the swinging is endless fun, the combat is challenging but rewarding and the story is too obvious but still exciting.

    Once you get the hang of it, swinging around the city is second nature. The combat is a little hard to get used to at first and I feel like it's made a little too difficult at times by swarms of enemies, forcing you to go in the air and to dodge bullets, but once you start flowing it's great. This dethrones Spiderman 2 as the gold standard of open world super hero games.

    The game is awesome, but sadly its not a 10, the voice actors are on point, the combat is on point, the main story is a masterpiece, but sadly the side activities are boring af, i only did a few when the game forced me to, and also the MJ missions were a little bit boring. but the relationship between all the characters is awesome. Its a console seller!!!

Great gameplay, the web mechanics are just SO satisfying, graphics are tops (do not believe the "downgrade" claims. The story missions themselves are absolutely tremendous and some of the best in game story missions I've played in a very long time. The voice acting is great and you can tell the people playing them, especially the VA for Spider-man/Peter Parker took alot of pride in his role. I was greatly impressed with how things turned out here. Bout the only disappointing thing is the length as the main story only lasts about 10-15 hours. That's not including the tons of collectibles you can collect.
    The game is very heavily padded with collectibles to get and not all of them are very interesting. They all play into allowing you to purchase new suits for Spidey to wear throughout the game, each coming with a new suit power. That was fun and Spider-man has no shortage of awesome suits he's worn over the years. I would have liked to see a little backstory for each suit in particular but it's not something I'll knock the game for.
    There are a couple of minor problems with the game. For this being an open-world game, the map of NYC that you swing around is very small. It's probably one of the smallest ones I've seen in a game like this in awhile. It's very dense with collectibles to kinda hide the fact that you don't cover a ton of ground there. I'd also like to caution anyone going into this game thinking the battle system is similar to the Batman: Arkham games because you will have your butt handed to you in the first couple of hours trying to learn the game if that is your point of reference here. I also could have really done away with the "stealth" sequences they throw at you by forcing you to switch a non-Spider-man character at multiple times in the game. It slowed the game tremendously and got away from the best parts of the game: i.e. playing as Spider-man and going through the more action intense part of the games. It just felt like a crappy way of extending the length of an already short main storyline and drag things out a bit.
    Even still, this game really did live up to Sony's and Marvel's expectations. It'll be a wonderful game for the PS4 going into the holiday months and, by getting it out first before all the other big name games come after it, Sony will own the rest of the Christmas season at the rate this is going. Massive Spider-man fans should go into the game with a grain of salt and be understanding for some of the changes this universe makes to some back stories. For all other people who won't hold that kinda stuff against the game, this is something that will easily keep you entertained for the amount of time it takes to beat it.    … Expand

    The only thing I don't like. The only thing. Immersion is sometimes broken by story plot points in audio that don't meet the scene you are in. For example as you land next to a character and then the background story audio is telling you how hard it will be to find that character. Not a biggie and only 3 or 4 occasions at 50% complete but it stood out. If not, this would have got a 9.5 ;)

    With only about 50% of the game completed, I feel like I have done so much already! This game immerses you in to Spider-Man AND Peter Parker's life in a way that no previous iteration as done before. Swinging through the city as Spider-Man has never felt more fun. It took a little while to get used to the controls while swinging, and a times it does get away from you, but it looked so fluid and quickly became my favorite part of the game!

    Marvel's Spider-Man has a rich story filled with villains and characters casuals would know and some that will be new to us (I'm definitely a casual), but the game does a great job introducing them to us and even providing a little backstory as to why they are friend or foe. There's of course a main story that will take you hours to complete, but the life of this game is extended by all the side missions you can complete.

    As stated, I'm only 50% through the game because I keep getting distracted by all the side missions. These vary from beating up baddies robbing a store, chasing down vehicles filled with armed cronies, or taking pictures of New York City landmarks. I found the latter to be very interesting because it truly shows how much effort the developers put in to making Spidey's NYC come to life. Trust me, as the side mission icons pop up along the expansive map, you will find yourself swinging to the next main point of the story only to decide "Well, since I'm close by..." and choose to go find that hidden backpack or take a picture of Avenger's Tower.

    The combat of this game is great. While I was a bit turned off in the beginning that it was the standard "Press Circle to Jump and Press Square to attack" kind of button mashing game, the different combat moves that could come from these standard buttons really made Spidey come alive. His acrobatic dodges and fluid kicks were fun to perform on enemies. Webbing them to walls, stealing their weapons away and using the various Spidey Gadgets added so much to the combat. Almost like an RPG, as you perform tasks you gain XP which can be used to outfit Spider-Man with different skills (like the aforementioned weapon stealing), costumes and gadgets. Each suit you purchase comes with a Suit Power that can help you in many ways. I've definitely found my favorite power, but I'm sure all can come in handy at various points. The game is very generous and allows you to use any unlocked suit power on any suit you choose. They aren't just limited to the suit you purchased to get that specific power.

    As mentioned before, this game also gives you an inside look into Peter Parker's life. There are segments of the game where you play Peter and you, of course, interact with the important people in his life, such as Aunt May and Mary Jane. Through Pete's side of the story, you also get to play as other characters for certain segments. I won't spoil who these other characters are, but I felt these sections added a lot to the story.

    Spider-Man isn't just a run around a beat foes up kind of game. In some parts you are required to solve puzzles. These aren't pull your hair out crazy, but I did like the fact they took some thought to complete. I found many of them pretty fun.

    This game gets a perfect score from me. Honestly, the only downside I've found are some of the side battles are pretty repetitive, but that doesn't make it any less fun to pummel the bad guys, so it truly is canceled out.

    This has probably been the most fun I've had playing a video game since Uncharted 4. With only being 50% done with the game, and that's probably only counting the main story progression, I am extremely excited to see where the rest of the adventure takes me.    … Expand

    Great game, amazing story. Some missions, however, are not so well executed like for example the stealth missions. I love swinging through the city, but I think the swinging could have been more interesting if you could switch hands. Like for example, you could use left hand by pressing L2.     Finally a game that will get everyone to shut up about Spider-man 2. Marvel's Spider-man knocked it out of the park. I've never had so much fun playing as the Webhead. I know for those of you who haven't played it the hype seems over blown. It really isn't this game is truly AMAZING.

    The game story is fantastic. All the main characters are fleshed out and likeable. The main villains you understand their motives. This game feels like a Spider-man movie in that aspect where you see the main villains and they aren't just evil for because they can be. What this game also does is something the Amazing Spider-man movies wished for; the Sinister Six. They are done well in my opinion the reason is because they start you out as adult Spider-man so you don't have six rushed villain backgrounds they are already evil and hate him. I personally always liked adult Spidey more so this story was set during a perfect time. The only issue with the story I have is the third act seemed a bit rushed. It wasn't bad I think they could've made it a little longer so I had more time dealing with the enemies vs how they did it. (I have to be vague for spoiler reasons) The actually ending however was twisty and fantastic. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster.

    The gameplay is fantastic... as Spider-man. Spider-man plays similar to the Batman Arkham games but more fast paced. The different abilities and types of web make the gameplay lasting and never tedious. They change up the enemy types to keep you dodging, dipping, ducking, and dodging. The boss fights are cinematic and unique in each encounter. The villains they chose for this are so different you have to learn how to beat each one while fighting them. There is not just one way to beat every enemy in it. The sad thing about this game is you don't just play Spidey. This is where the game doesn't get a perfect score is because it has some problems. My biggest issue was the bit where you play Mary Jane sneaking around trying to get info on enemies. It isn't hard, but nor is it fun. They also have many tedious puzzles that are just there for time. The main one is a pipe dream style of mini-game that anyone can do. If you are a completionist this game is for you. They have so many collectables, side quest, random crimes, enemy lairs, and side quest where you find collectables it's unreal. I don't mind any of that because none of it is mandatory. I dare you not to do them though because swinging around as Spider-man is just too much damn fun.

    Overall the game has a couple of flaws, but those are miniscule compared to how good majority of the game is. I loved playing this, and had a hard time putting it down I have to give this a HIGH BUY. If you own a PS4 you should be playing this.    … Expand

    Absolute epic! When I started playing this game, I had to get used to swinging and controls which are all over the place. As the game progressed, it just got more and more spectacular. Depth of the storyline, brilliant gameplay, sublime controls/graphics and meaningful side missions makes this the new God of War by Insomniac. Especially the photo finish that Spidey gives at the end ofAbsolute epic! When I started playing this game, I had to get used to swinging and controls which are all over the place.     The game is amazing hands down. Not perfect, but rock solid. Plenty of content and easter eggs for Spidey fans. Insomniac knocked this one out of the park. The camera during combat at times is the only issue. It doesn't break the game at all. And if they can fix it with a patch then this will be a 10.

    It definitely a must-buy game for spider fans, as you can swing between buildings feel like a real spider man and the system is impressive. I really enjoyed this game during last whole week

    This game is spectacular, hands down. It shows gamers, and fans alone, what Insomniac Games are capable of doing, with a beautiful open world, extremely fleunt animations, and a wonderful story.

    Marvel's Spider-Man is a great foundation for what is to become an amazing series of games.

    Amazing experience.
    The gameplay, story and combat are top notch.
    The side activities could be a little bit monotonous but other then that the game is so much fun.
    Totally recommended to every spider man fun and for every one else as well.

    My wife is not a huge video game fan, she is more like a video game hater, but only until we start to play PS4 exclusives. Together we have completed God of War, Uncharted series, Detroit - Become a Human, Spider-man (currently), Playlink game series, Horizon - Zero Dawn.
    So basically my wife is my personal "metacritic" when is see that she got interest in the game I play, that means that this game is "a special one" and we will finish it together. PS4 exclusives made my wife look on video games from different angel.

    This is truly one of the best spider man games to come out in the past decade. the swinging mechanics, combat mechanics are great ( feel really smooth and close to the Arkham series combat) , love the gadgets and most importantly love the story. great seeing Miles Morales in the game hope he will be used more in the dlc or the next game in the series ?

    On the not so great side i would say the MJ part lets something to desire and can be a bit boring at times. The QTE are a bit much but understandably present.
    overall this game is great and truly deserves the praise. Insomniac has done a very good job on this spider man game and I hope it wont be the last. who knows maybe we could get some other villains like venom or green goblin maybe ?    … Expand

    juego recomendadísimo para todos los jugadores de la ps4 . Historia fantástica , jugabilidad exquisita , ambientación genial de la ciudad de nueva york y una suavidad de movimiento inmejorable . La única pega es la repetitividad de las misiones secundarias , aun así son entretenidas . Sin ninguna duda , el mejor juego de spider-man y en mi opinión , de súper héroes en general .

    A really good attempt by insomniac at the web-slinger. The combat is just flawless with countless combos and finishers, the web-swinging is breath-taking, fluid and enjoyable with different air tricks and boosts that really keep your momentum going and the story is very emotionally gripping
    (NO SPOILERS) and does a really good job of pulling you into it and attaching you to the    A really good attempt by insomniac at the web-slinger.     (NO SPOILERS) and does a really good job of pulling you into it and attaching you to the characters. Like (Creative director) Bryan Intihar says "Spiderman and Peter Parkers world's collide"
    One thing i wanted to specifically mention is that Yuri Lowenthal is the best voice actor for Spideman, honestly the guy's voice fits spidey and peter so well that it makes it enjoyable to hear his voice, the voice he puts on for Spidey is so exuberant and the voice he puts on for Peter is so Peter Parker-like...basically what i'm saying is that this voice of Yuri is how i imagine Spiderman to sound like if real.

    There were only a few problems i had with the game:
    One of those is the side missions, i'm mean few were actually thoughtful and good, like the clone Spiderman and etc. but the rest were quite boring especially the Spiderman P.I. one...

    The second problem i encountered was that there are a lack of enemy types, i mean i get it that you maybe don't wanna throw new enemy types at the players straight away but after finishing the main story at least you could somewhat throw a new enemy types like for example, one of the escaped convicts could have a type of armor (Like the armored Sable agents) and they would be hard to hit.

    The last problem is that there is lack of side activities which are connected to saving civilians, there are only thug crimes and car chases or kidnapping and that's all, Insomniac could have added a two more like injured civilians being taken to hospitals or fires in a building.

    IN THE END, Spiderman is a fantastic game with only a few flaws but with a lot of great story, combat, and traversal elements that makes it an absolute BLAST to plays for days. I'm looking forward to whats Insomniac brings to the table with the second game.    … Expand

A compelling story, a beautiful rendition of New York City, a fantastic web-swinging system, and much more make this game the greatest Spider-Man video game ever made. It is also, without question, one of the year's best games and a legitimate contender for GOTY.

    This game is fantastic. The city is fantastic, the swinging is by far the best of any Spider-Man game. The story is solid and the voice acting is great and enhances the story. A fantastic open world game with heaps to do outside of the story. A must own for all ps4 owners

    Purely fantastic! Insomniac has hit it out of the park with what might be the best version of the beloved hero. To keep it short the traversal is fantastic, the combat is fun and the story is very well done. I can honestly see this being game of the year and considering the competion it is that is saying something.

    The open world web slinging around New York alone merits this a 10. Story and everything else is also good but the feeling of web slinging around the city is sooooo fun Insomniac nailed it.

    Another Insomniac masterpiece, So far i'm 1/3 completion and i just don't want this game to ever end, i definitely be purchasing any sort of future DLC. Surely a must have PS4 game.

    There are myriad good reasons why Marvel's Spider-Man is the best-selling and highest-rated Spider-Man title in years. While it has a few glaring flaws, they pale in comparison to all of the things the team at Insomniac got right. A well-acted, strong story serves as the backbone for an experience that just plain feels right for Spider-Man, and fans and newcomers alike won't be disappointed by this trip to the Spider-verse.

    This game does for Spider-Man what the Arkham series did for Batman. Immensely satisfying movement system, excellent combat, fast pace, superb visuals and wealth of side activities converge to bring a wonderful experienced, diluted only by some minor missteps in the story and a couple of stealth sequences where you control supporting characters instead of Spidey.
