Apr 21, 2017game has potential, but falls short on its graphics as it is literally hard to look at. The game would probably be better played on vita than on ps4. It is very short, and it has a semi good story.

Aug 4, 2016This game has something, but I didn't catch it. Maybe too much backtracking in a hostile enviroinment (especially for eyes). Also, the endings are kinda banal, for the expectations.

Jun 16, 2020Gorgeous pixel art and amazing soundtrack. The story is so deep... Depression makes the main character really dark. One of my favorite indies of all time.

May 15, 2023A kind of 16 BIT version of Silent Hill, Lone Survivor is an interesting idea but the map system doesn't work leaving you wandering around in circles for far too much of the time, and although the graphics are deliberately and self-conciously "retro", this doesn't alter the fact that they are rubbish.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaNov 28, 2014The now-gen survival horror revolution's here – and it only took 8 bits to get us there. [Christmas 2014, p77]

Oct 30, 2014It’s still a remarkably well produced experience, but if you’ve already played it, spend your money on one of the myriad other horror titles on the PS4 instead.

Oct 22, 2014While there is some action to be had here, do not play Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut looking to score perfect headshots or cheap scares. The pace is slower and as a result the sense of horror is more palpable, memorable experience.
