An excellent game with an amazing visual style. The simplicity of this game is what sells it. The controls are not hard to understand and the fact that it has a limited set of controls is what makes it enjoyable. However, it is the scenarios the game puts you through that will test your skills.

Limbo is a beautiful looking side-scrolling puzzle platformer that is near perfect in its execution. Its haunting visuals, smart puzzles and rich world add to its replay value too.

LIMBO is a very simple side scroller yet it is a masterpiece for what it accomplishes. It has a very unique art style and is filled with awesome and challenging little puzzles. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this game and can't wait to try out INSIDE, the sort of sequel from the same developer.

Probably the best cinematic puzzle platformer ever made. A haunting atmosphere, creative puzzles, a true adventure. An experience. Some say it's too short to justify its price, but I've played the game over 5 times over looking for all of the secrets well making this worth the price of admission. If you haven't played it yet do yourself a favour and do. You won't look back.

A great game. Challenging, sometimes VERY challenging, but very rewarding. Puzzles are gradually more and more challenging, but still - very logical. You WILL DIE A LOT in this game. But still - satisfaction after complieting the game is ENORMOUS!

One of the most chilling and haunting games I've experienced. It's extremely simple but very unforgiving, and hard to put down once you pick it up. Sure, it's about a 2-3 hour game if played leisurely but you'll be hard-pressed to find a game of the same length that offers as much as this one does. Very happy I decided to play this after having it on my playlist for a couple years now.

Starting the game knowing as little as ''Uncertain of his sister's fate, a Boy enters Limbo.'' the hype for this acclaimed 2D platformer by PLAYDEAD was building up rapidly.
Beginning the journey in some dark foggy forest, the visual elements and the eerie audio would allow the player to make wild thoughts about what's to follow and within the first minutes immerse himself into the dark and moody setting of Limbo.
In absence of direct narrative you find yourself toying with interesting (some awe inspiring I would never expect in such game) mechanisms in a series of puzzles that strain your perception and navigation skills in the game while trying to interpret the meaning of everything apparently the game is using as symbolic implications of a greater underlying storytelling.
Personally, due to the lack of story, after an hour into the game I grew bored of the gameplay and frustrated by puzzles relying solely on the timing of your jump (cause i found no difficulty in finding the solution to none but one puzzle -one 4 or 5 before the end- ) but I patiently waited for the ending.
Ending the game was the moment that this game lived up to its fame. One of the most heartfelt moments in my experience of video games. All those wild thoughts came to a conclusion, leaving you with all the possible explanations to the game's storyline and an urge to talk about it, see other people's interpretations (and believe me, there are some very interesting out there) and opinion.
This game? Truly a legend of storytelling.
    Summing up:
The visuals were astonishing (taking into account that the game was a 2D platformer in black and white) the experience they served was a blast (Visuals 9/10)
The audio as well created an immersive experience and was indeed very helpful throughout the game (and of course during the bonus level which was almost entirely depended on audio) (Audio: 8.5/10)
The gameplay was surprisingly rich with mechanisms one would not expect in this game but there were some ''points of frustration'', where, while in knowing of the solution, a death by mistake would cause the puzzle to reset. (8.5/10)
The story is up to the user's interpretation. So, to me, for what I kept as my conclusion, the story of LIMBO is a 10/10.
    Overall 9/10.

The game has one major and one minor flaws:

One of these is, it is too short. I finished it after maybe three hours.

The other is it doesn't have a proper ending.

Which one is the major and which one is the minor flaw, it's up to you to decide.

Everything else is perfect: great controls, excellent sound, fantastic mood and pace.

As far as I'm concerned, LIMBO is one of the ten best games of all time. That's right, EVER. It was nothing short of staggering way back when it originally debuted on XBLA (360), was just as gorgeous and equally adept at going 'handheld' when it graced PS Vita, and once again, it's just as good on PS4.

But therein lies the very problem, in PS4 (and Xbox One), this is the latest and greatest in new generation home console gaming, and 'just as good', really doesn't cut it. Not by a long-shot. And that goes double for those of us who have previously bought the game on multiple platforms. And ESPECIALLY NOT when Playdead inextricably opt to sidestep PSN's altogether fabulous Cross-Buy initiative. Very strange indeed when they DID use the service for the PS3/Vita edition(s). Absolutely bizarre!

Come on Playdead, at the VERY least, take a look at Minecraft: PS4 Edition and the stunning Super Turbo Championship Edition of Guacamelee! and offer a good 50% or so discount for existing PSN owners of the the game. Don't get me wrong, I still adore LIMBO. Most likely always will. But all these years later, without the addition of any new-gen bells & whistles whatsoever, 10/10 this ain't.

If you've never played it before, by all means, jump in and grab LIMBO on PS4 — it's almost worth it, just to play through the five or six hour campaign on the DualShock 4 — but if you've already played it before and/or already own it on another platform, I'd leave this version in PSN limbo. Well, at least until it inevitably hits the PSN bargain bin at some point down the line.

this keeps you on your toes and suspicious of everything…
These initial moments of this little less than 4 hour journey for me was my favorite..
The game is very much a game of trial and error, and the game is generous with its checkpoints being nearly instantaneous.. knowing where youre going to mess up and most of the time having an instant spot for you to try again keeping this games momentum steady…
After these initial moments of dealing with traps and a giant spider, the game slowly starts to be more puzzle focused and this is where I started to fall out of love with this game…
Not that the puzzles are bad, im just not a huge fan of problem solving while im platforming and looking out for suspicious shadows..
Youll be pulling boxes, throwing switches, and timing jumps and other buttons to progress through the game..
I found a lot of these puzzles to be decently challenging, though none too complicated or having too many steps… but a few definitely did come close… and I may or may not have had to look the answer up for a couple..
with so many limbo clones out there now, going back to play limbo and playing through these puzzles is a bit of a drag because ive seen them so many times now…
I would’ve preferred if the whole game was like the first few chapters of deception…
I felt there was something really special there. It kept me hooked and intrigued hoping for more moments like this later on, but sadly they never came
Personal preferences aside, limbo is a very erie and dark game, youll die gruesome deaths,
the game will disturb you and turn your stomach at times…
and it will get your mind going…
both for the puzzles and trying to figure out just exactly whats going on with the story…
even with the dozens of clones out there, limbo stands out as something special and unique..
one of the most enjoyable and unsettling puzzle platforming games ive played
    I give limbo
    an 8/10

There's something enchanting yet cruel about the game, and even having completed it before, I came to a few later stage puzzles whereby I died a good 10+ times to get past it. So brilliantly frustrating but rewarding for it.

As stories go, it's pretty thin and doesn't really give you much, but this actually adds to the game. You start off just waking up in a silhouetted world of darkness and are left to discover its dangers without as much as an NPC to say "do this"

Dying isn't much fun in most games. In Limbo the rag-doll like mechanics of the boy mean you'll not want to chuck a remote at the screen, instead you'll be able to appreciate your decapitation and watching your limp body slide down the hill following your bouncing head to the river bank below. Or maybe that's just me.

Limbo is a great platform game. Both stylised and sinister. One of the best indie titles to emerge from the last gen and if you can get it free on PS+ now, do it, I'd happily pay up to £9.99 to relive this experience if it hadn't come back up

Limbo holds up incredibly well on the PS4, but it would have been nice to see a little more from this port – especially seeing as it's not cross-buy compatible.
