Lifeless Planet has an amazing premise and the trailers really pulled me in. The only challenge is trying to overcome the horrible controls and wonky momentum based movement system. There is a green path that you follow the entire game that lets leads you past any of the very obvious traps laid before your path and there are some documents that you'll find along the way which tell you the story of this world. The story unfortunately is very cliche and uninspired. Like i said I spent the first 30 minutes intrigued and then the rest of my 5 hours were kind of a sunk investment fallacy. I kept expecting it to get better but it never did. My takeaway by the end was that this felt like a student project more than a real game and honestly I wish i would have read the reviews before I installed it. Take my advice and avoid this stinker. I want my 5 hours back. Expand

Lifeless Planet is a platforming game where you play as an astronaut who’s crew crash lands on a planet that was once inhabited by the soviet union
when you wake up you see that your crew is gone and you have no idea how long you were out for...
you set out to find them and along your journey you discovery other mysteries to be solved..
You’ll find data and audio logs that explain what happened on this planet and why it’s no longer crawling with life...
The game is a constant 6 hours search for answers, and while this planet is lifeless.. it still manages to be just varied enough to stop it from feeling repetitive…
Though not varied enough to blow you away or keep you immersed for the entire 6 hours…
as the scenery doesn’t really change all too much…
The gameplay itself is straight up platforming and throwing switches to continue on your path to get home…
you hop gaps with your oxygen tank which can definitely take some getting used to as it feels just a little too floaty to ever feel satisfying…
And the level design doesn’t quite do the greatest job at keeping the player moving forward as there are rarely visual clues to give you an idea of what to do, occasionally halting momentum…
I found myself scratching my head probably once every 30 minutes not knowing where I was supposed to be going…
the game also does some weird things towards the end with geysers that don’t really work, but I do appreciate their attempt at throwing something new into the game…
The gameplay in Lifeless Planet definitely isn’t great, it’s passable...
But the greatness is in the mystery and exploration of this planet…
    I give lifeless planet a 7/10

the description of this game is a bit misleading, the gane makes itself up to be an exploration game, which i love, but it turned out it is a puzzle plattformer in disguise, which i absilutely hate. i'll give the game a few points for the ambiente, but zero for gameplay, what a wasted chance to score really big as an indie,

Game feels very clunky, and voice acting is poor. The mechanics are really bothersome as it makes it for a really stale experience, and the story is mediocre at max.

An astronaut who looks like he's made of plasticine, a barren planet which is pretty lifeless so 2 points for stating the obvious in the games title. Gameplay involves alot of jumping..and jumping and also...more jumping.

A very easy, slow and linear platformer. I dont regret playing trhough it but i cant recommend it. Game length 3h. Even though its so short i feel like it went on for wayyy too long.

Felt like it was made by a 8 year old with their granddad in the basement on old nintendo 64 hardware. Ugly boring game with bad controls, that might of passed 20 odd years ago, but is horrible for today's standards.

    I would advoid

Nice and relaxed game where you can focus on the story told via notes picked up along the way. Simple puzzles, few optional collectibles. I enjoyed it and managed to finish in 6 hrs. It has a primal sci-fi atmosphere that drew me in. Easy to pick up and play for anyone in the family. The platforming is basic and only 2 sections were difficult in the entire experience. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't play video games much but this one looked interesting enough for me to want to get into, and I loved it. That said, I can imagine if you are even halfway serious about gaming this one would probably lack the complexity or variety that more popular games offer, but I found the story compelling enough to get me to finish it. Pros: I absolutely loved the visuals and the various perspectives. Story was simple but kept me following along. Cons: Too many jumping puzzles but hey, it's a low gravity thing. Expand

Well, i loved the game very much. It is a little slow paced but that okay, i gto around 4 hours of gameplay. Graphics are preety good for this kinda game. I loved the story very much.
The game itself is a mix between exploration and puzzle game, there is a lot of running and jumping involved, and some puzzles can get quite hard. I think the game is awesome and you should play it.

Do not buy this game. I had 2 softlocks within 90 minutes and the narrative is lackluster so far. It's extremely linear, which wouldn't be a bad thing but you're punished for exploring outside of that path which is very frustrating for a completionist like myself. Gameplay is very basic, but I found movement quite fun. Could be a good a speedrun game but lacks a lot of the core gameplayDo not buy this game. I'll probably finish the game out of pure curiosity and determination, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this point.

I wanted to like Lifeless Planet. I gave it a fair shake and I even liked it until I got a grasp on everything it has to see and do — about 45 minutes. Past that, it’s just an exercise in running and jumping across boring vistas while collecting uninteresting audiologs to support the bloated, unsatisfying story.

I hardly identified with the protagonist in any other game as much as I did here: I just want to leave this godforsaken, boring and ugly place as much as he does.

Lifeless Planet isn’t necessarily an experience that is needed to be had, but if you do journey to the planet, there is some good to be found.
