    So I bought it tonight. I like supporting lesser known studios and niche titles, especially new ideas or new takes on existing ideas. I turned this on and got through the opening cutscene before I had to switch it off. The voice work does not match the character models. The gesturing of some of them is laughably bad. I fought through it even as the game loaded up for 8 minutes. Upon loading I was treated to another cutscene where i could control the camera. Looking around, everything is hazy, like I'm drinking too heavily. It begins to give me a headache, i push through, excited by some of the aspects the game promises. By the time i receive my first sigil, game staple "fire", the framerate had gotten so sluggish that my character wasnt moving but the background was. The fireball i shot was delayed and then it went to another loading screen. Just walking in the opening minutes of the game proved painful. If it gets patched this might have potential, but the tree in Wander moved faster than this and the framerate never got above 20. Sad to say but, save your money on this one.… Expand

    As of 4/19/16, Lichdom: Battlemage is UNPLAYABLE. This has to be the WORST port since the Batman: Arkham Knight PC port. The frame rate is in single digits... let me repeat this... The frame freakin rate of this potentially great game has never hit 20fps. Most of the time you'll be playing a PowerPoint.
    But then again... this console port was done by Maximum    DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!

    Don't get the hate for this game at all. Definitely a little rough around the edges, but I enjoyed it on Steam and and also enjoying another playthrough on PS4.

    Bad: the menu, inconsistent frame rate, sometimes sparse environments

    Good: visuals, spells, controls, settings, general gameplay

    Hey what is LICHDOM BATTLEMAGE? nobody knows. i found it at the bottom of the glass case at Walmart. I never seen one add in a magazine or on the internet for this game.If Bethesda had made this game everybody would be talking about it. BEWARE IT HAS FRAMERATE PROBLEMS. I wanted so badly to hack enemies who came too close, but a quick counterattack with the shield and a blast of fire eased all of the need for a weapon. great graphics brutal enemies fun to play. the most important to me is fun and i enjoyed every minute. WAIT.... the customization and crafting of your magic sygils is out of this world just about any combo of magic you can think of you can create that makes this game dynamite. GREAT GREAT GREAT

    Ok, right now (June 21, 2017) PS Store has this on sale for $7.99 for PS + members. I've been wanting to pull the trigger on this for ages, but the volumes of negative reviews and complaints held me off. The idea of a FPS (essentially) with spells intrigued me. I was almost willing to spend 10 bucks, but the current sale price was just too good to pass by. And believe me, I've been burnedOk, right now (June 21, 2017) PS Store has this on sale for $7.99 for PS + members. And believe me, I've been burned plenty of times before when I ignored bad reviews and purchased a turd. But I gotta be honest -- I really like Lichdom. It's fun, interesting, fast-paced and literally a blast to combo spells. The good news is that the game has been patched so it's (presumably) much better than it had been on the PS4. But don't get me wrong, there are plenty of issues from LOOOOOONG loading times (per level) and some frame rate jerkiness to a few other technical problems. But they're not the worst and can be overlooked because the gameplay is really fun. I'm loving it. If you're like me and find the premise interesting, then rent it or pick it up for under $10. You won't be disappointed. (If I'd paid full price when it was released, yes, I'd have been super angry.)… Expand

    Very cool Mage Fps. Very fun and satifing combat that makes a nice change from the usual assault riffle or laser blaster, not that those weopens arent cool. It also has acgreat leveling system that involves the usual grand and inteligent use if resources.

    Don't buy breaks PS4 controllers! I purchased this game for cheap and it gave both of my PS4 controllers drift. Don't buy!

    Real quick, if you're expecting a smooth frame rate or a game that runs nicely, stay away.

Oddly enough if you walk instead of run the frame rate is obnoxiously low. I think running causes some kind of down-rez to make loading the assets easier. You can actually stay in "run mode" the entire time, which feels weird but at least the frame rate is a little better that way, albeit still poor. Gameplay could definitely be better. with magic as the central focus you could definitely do more enemy manipulation. For example imagine the force powers from Star Wars. If your game is just magic I want to be able to pick enemies up and throw them a little. Little enemies could go flying while medium enemies might just get tossed a little. Maybe giant enemies could at least be tripped by this so you could get some critical hits. I'm talking about what COULD be because there's not really much else to say about this game. It's a solid 6/10. That's a "D", barely passing, and not passing at all in some circles. I don't regret my $3 purchase but anyone who bought this for $20 or more likely felt robbed. If your frame rate is trash, delay your game until it's not trash. Maybe have frame rate in mind from the very start of the project so you don't have to worry about fixing a dumpster fire later?    … Expand

    The game is **** trash there is terrible power just 2 ability how trash is that they give you bosses the are **** one shot hitters and at the beginning of the freaking game to this game is trash it is like a kid made it and they made it where you can not beat so do not waist your money on this dog trash game .

    If you ever wanted to become spellcaster, this one might be for you. At first It's really fun to create your own spells, there are a lot of possibilities. You can create lightning ray spells, fireballs, area of effects blizzards, traps, debuffs and many more, all of that while using elements like fire, ice, lightning, but also necromancy, mind control etc. Then comes some more advancedIf you ever wanted to become spellcaster, this one might be for you. At first It's really fun to create your own spells, there are a lot of possibilities. You can create lightning ray spells, fireballs, area of effects blizzards, traps, debuffs and many more, all of that while using elements like fire, ice, lightning, but also necromancy, mind control etc. Then comes some more advanced synergies, but all of that is getting a bit dull, especially in the second part of the game. What you're doing is just come from point A to B, fighting, creating new spells, fighting again, creating spells and so on. Voiceacting is good, presentation is also above average and CryEngine is doing it's work. There are some beautiful sceneries and magic effect, but sometimes it's really dark and repetitive. Overall it's a fun game and I would give it 6 out of 10, but on PS4 I'm giving it lover score because:
    1) there is no FPS lock, there are constant drops, sometimes even to few frames per second
    2) if you play longer, games starts to stutter even more, and you're forced to return to main menu and restart from checkpoint
    3) there is a bug in menu, where you can't recycle some element from your spells
    So overall it's a 5/10 on PS4 for me.    … Expand

    As I said up front, it's not as bad as The Park or Murasaki Mist — or my all-time worst game ever, Basement Crawl — but your mileage may vary. It's certainly in that conversation, which should tell you all you could possibly need to know.
