    Fun little game, very simple, and easy.

    Good for a distraction.

    Way too short. I think I finished it in five or six hours. They could have made the game way more challenging.

    Letter Quest is a scrabble based RPG.

    The basic principle is you fight enemies by spelling words to gain hit points, whilst their words damage your life meter. Power ups and developing your little guy are the main RPG elements that carry across charmingly. The game is very easy to pick up as a casual player and appeals for short gaming sessions. Power ups and developing your little guy are the main RPG elements that carry across charmingly. The game is very easy to pick up as a casual player and appeals for short gaming sessions. I tend to like strategy and like word based puzzles, so Letter Quest felt like a good change from the AAA titles i've been putting alot more hours into.

    I think its biggest flaw is in the questing itself. They are often as basic as spelling x2 words in a round with a given letter. I was ready for a harder challenge after 30 quests and never really got that in the later game. The game is ultimately an endless succession of enemies that have various weaknesses to exploit and grind through. The only enemies that really feel like they utilised the RPG element were those that only took damage from low count words. This meant you had to think of high-powered 3 letter words, alike scrabble, vowels are worth 1 point and you get bonuses for using Y,J,X,K,P,W, Z etc .. it's simple and will appeal to scrabble boffs.

    It's not a bad game at all, but with only a 1 player campaign + endless mode, I felt it really lacked a good head to head and online multiplayer modes.

    Fun game for a budget price - any scrabble gamer will enjoy the challenge im sure 6/10    … Expand

    There are 2 main modes: Story and Endless mode. Story mode has you clearing different stages. Where you have to make words with the letters you get. The more letters the more damage you do on the monsters you have to beat. When you beat a stage you are rewarded with gems which you can spent to buy upgrades and or potions. What    This game is fun in the beginning but gets old real fast.

    There are 2 main modes: Story and Endless mode.

    Story mode has you clearing different stages. Where you have to make words with the letters you get. The more letters the more damage you do on the monsters you have to beat. When you beat a stage you are rewarded with gems which you can spent to buy upgrades and or potions. What you'll be needing to beat the stronger monsters later in the game.

    Endless mode is kind of a survival mode where you just keep going and going defeating monsters untill you HP bar is empty. Probably the only mode you will come back to after you have cleared the story.

    This game gets very repetitive after you've done some stages. Just making words gets boring when you aren't really rewarded. This game could've been much better if there was a multiplayer mode. Or even an online leaderboard where you can compare your scores.

    So should you get this game? If you have PS plus. Why not it's free this month.
    Otherwise i would say there are better ways to spend your money. Only get this game if you are a true hardcore puzzle fan.    … Expand

    there’s a bit of charm here in this RPG meets scrabble game...
    You’re given a bunch of random letters and you do some turn based combat with enemies using those letters...
    Your goal is to come up with the best word possible, and you know your boy superken from superkengaming has the vocabulary of a 3rd grader, so this wasn’t the best game for me to flex my spelling skills on..
    The bigger the word with the better more challenging to use letters the more damage you do to enemies, and enemies will attack back.. However not with letters... they just get free damage... and their can do things like mess with your letters, giving them poison effects or breaking them so that they give you no points for a certain amount of turns..
    Definitely stacking the deck against you...
    and as the game progresses more effects are put into play and enemies get spongier and spongier... this is how the game challenges you... with sponge…
    thankfully enemies drop gems when you beat them allowing you to upgrade your weapon, health, and armor... you can even buy spell books to give you an advantage such as the letter e giving you health every time you use it, and these bonuses are leveled up while using them…
    But its apparent with its boss battles and later stages that this game wants you to replay the same levels over and over... to grind for gems to upgrade your gear…
    As boss battles for example will have a ridiculous rule attached to them like the enemy only takes damages from words that start with vowels…
    again I only know like 3 words that start with a vowel.. rough time for me…
    so I threw my gems at the shop for some health potions to give myself a better chance because I wasn’t about to go back and replay levels to grind for gems… levels are samey enough as it is
    Why grinding is ultimately a problem is that this game gets old insanely fast..
    The different tiles and effects don’t keep it interesting... the battles don’t get more interesting...
    there are 40 levels total here, and all of them are just defeat enemy after enemy, occasionally get a shop to refill your health a little or do a wheel of fortune style game for a perk before the next battle..
    And if you die you have to restart the level all over again...
    it’s a spelling test that never ends
    And if you want that... there literally is an endless mode…
    Letter Quest starts cute, but gets really challenging and really tiring fast
    it’s a play a level once every few years kind of game more than it is beat in sitting kind of game
    it’s that repetitive
    I give Letter Quest Remastered

    Letter quest is a fun spelling game. It is great for all ages, but it is lacking a few words from its dictionary, but it is overall a really joyful experience.

    Extremely boring and sort of unfinished game. So lame designed, poor content. Only if English is not your born language it can maintain you in the game.

    As a mobile title would help pass a fifteen minute bus journey but the gameplay is too simple and just doesn’t evolve in any way from start to finish. Each of the stages is virtually identical and consists of defeating one enemy after the other in exactly the same way (as described above). Personally I lost interest completely after about an hour’s play, split over two sessions, as there are simply too many more interesting alternatives I could be playing on my PS4.    … Expand

    f you want a cheap game you can have a proper gaming session with and pull an all-nighter to complete, this isn’t for you. This is a good game for people that want to pass a few minutes, but minutes can turn to hours quicker than you’d think. You’ve been warned.

    Ultimately this feels like a one trick pony that has been stretched to every conceivable limit. Though it may be initially enchanting, it won’t take long before Grimm’s spell wears off, leaving players wondering if getting some pizza is really worth all of the hassle.
