Amazing game (which is actually two games, with slightly different setups and gameplay, but both great) - perfect for children who are fans of Harry Potter as well as of LEGO. The difficulty is just right. My son (now 7, 6 at the time I bought this game) has completed the game about 8 times, which means hours and hours and hours of play, and is still playing it from time to time. Literally endless play after completing the game, just to unlock rare and expensive characters, and to find and complete all kinds of bonus levels, some of which pays handsomely to buy the characters you want.

Gameplay is great, both in 1-player and 2-player mode, where a more experienced player may assist a younger player. Some of the puzzles and foes require some help to solve/defeat. It's great for non-native English speakers, that there are no English dialogue in the game, that needs to be explained, like in the LEGO Marvel games. The characters simply imply emotions and what else in their facial expressions and grunts/sounds, so that the story gets through, no matter what language one knows.

Great graphics and great mood too in both games. Originally bought this game for the Wii, but after seeing the overall improvements to graphics and sound, just had to buy it for the PS4.

    Overall, an awesome purchase.

I was not that pleased with LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 when I first played it on the Wii. Game-breaking glitches were everywhere and the SD quality of the Wii made it even less enjoyable. Years 5-7 was much better, but was still a bit rough around the edges.

I can't speak for those who played the original games on the PS3 or Xbox 360, but as for someone who played the Wii versions,

I can't speak for those who played the original games on the PS3 or Xbox 360, but as for someone who played the Wii versions, this remastered collection is an enormous step-up. After about 5 hours of gameplay, I have yet to encounter a single bug. The game is much smoother, brighter, and overall better looking than before. HP fans who have yet to pick up this game or haven't played it in a few years should definitely try this out.

I'm not sure if I'm in the minority on this or anything but I have found the recent LEGO games, excluding The Force Awakens, to be rather lacking in terms of fun. LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a great reminder of the older LEGO games, which I think were better by far.

I just finished getting the platinum trophy for these games, and I have to say it was a very fun experience. I not once experienced a single bug, whilst playing and the experience was quite satisfying. I rarely felt bored, while progressing through the story mode, and exploring the different areas of the Potter universe was a blast. As a fan of the Potter franchise, this game was everyhting I wanted it to be, however if you aren't a fan of Harry Potter, I can't see this game being appealing to you at all. The humour is funny and unexpectedly dark at times, which makes a pleasant playing experience for both young and old fans of the franchise I'm sure. There are many different spells for you to learn, which are all implemented in the game in a fun and engaging manner. One of the downsides I have is that sometimes bosses can feel a little repetitive, as they all have the same core mechanic. Graphically, the game is pretty visually pleasing and you are never turned off by low resolution, or dodgy textures, and I never noticed a single frame drop my whole time playing. Going back and replaying the levels, still feels fun and it didn't feel like a drag, going back to collect all the collectables. For beloved fans of the Potter franchise, this is a must-buy, I'd recommend to fans of other ;ego games or just fans of Lego in general too, however if you're not keen on Potter, I'd recommend you stay away. Quite different from other Lego games in terms of structure. The basic gameplay is still there, but you learn spells/abilities and have lots of small levels as opposed to 10-15 big ones. I nice change in pace if you play a lot of these.

2 games in 1! Found year 1-4 quite boring, it’s mostly evolved around learning spells and being a young Harry. However year 5-7 you feel like a Lego badass. Better designed levels in my opinion. Overall it’s a traditional Lego game, good one to kick back to.

It is really a game worth playing. It has nice puzzles in it and you live the scenes in Harry Potter. It is the best game of Harry Potter franchise by far.

very different from the original games on the ds/3ds, but honestly might be a better improvement from the original with more things to do, more spells and unique levels, etc

It takes what you loved from the original games and puts it into one. Excellent game just wish the combat for 5-7 was better. Graphics improved and the best way to experience these games if you don’t own an older console.

One of the best LEGO games I have ever played. If you are a fan of Harry Potter I think this game is worth playing. The game tells the whole story in a quite humorous way, as befits Lego games. The game has a lot to discover and I think everyone will have a lot of fun playing it.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a fantastic game that combines the world of Harry Potter with the fun and whimsy of LEGO. The game perfectly captures the magic and charm of the Harry Potter universe, while still retaining the humor and lightheartedness of the LEGO franchise.

The game features the complete adventures of Harry Potter, from his first year at Hogwarts to his final showdown

The game features the complete adventures of Harry Potter, from his first year at Hogwarts to his final showdown with Voldemort. The levels are well-designed and creative, with plenty of puzzles and challenges to keep you engaged. The graphics are colorful and vibrant, and the sound design is top-notch.

One of the best things about LEGO Harry Potter Collection is the co-op mode, which allows you to play the game with a friend or family member. The split-screen gameplay is seamless, and it's great fun to work together to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.

The only downside to the game is that it can be a bit repetitive at times, with certain tasks and puzzles repeated across multiple levels. However, this is a minor complaint in an otherwise excellent game.

Overall, LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a must-play for Harry Potter fans, LEGO enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a fun and engaging adventure game. With its charming visuals, clever puzzles, and exciting co-op mode, it's a game that's sure to provide hours of entertainment. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and engaging game on PlayStation 4.

Its attention to detail and the opportunity to explore Hogwarts is still enchanting after all these years.

I can only recommend this collection to people who intend to play it with a young Potter fan. Otherwise Lego Star Wars or Lego Hobbit will be a better choice, because these games are simply better. [13/2016, p.49]

Even with the advancements done to the formula over the years, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection remains a solid game for fans. Gameplay remains simple enough for kids to enjoy, but the amount of content packed into each title ensures they'll still be working on it long after the campaigns have been finished. The enhancements due to the platform jump aren't truly significant, but they help make an already clean-looking game shine just a tiny bit more. Unless you've played these to death on previous consoles, this is certainly a game that deserves to be checked out by those who still adore the LEGO games without question.
