    Ever wanted to get in the ring with a pirate who carries a sword in one hand, has a hook in the other, and has mostly unblockable attacks? No? Then too bad, since Knockout League is all about over-the-top "boxing" that's far less precise than it is frustrating.

    First off, I really want to like this game. No? Then too bad, since Knockout League is all about over-the-top "boxing" that's far less precise than it is frustrating.

    First off, I really want to like this game. It is a decent workout -- you'll be moving around a lot as you try to deke the AI opponents' attacks. This is especially important as so many of the characters you'll face come at you with massive offenses that can wipe out your health with one or two strikes.

    This makes things really frustrating at times. And with only the first two opponents being legit boxers who don't come to the ring with weapons, extra arms, or some other kind of crazy advantage, the frustration mounts quickly.

    It doesn't help that the game is so similar to the original Punch Out. While that may appeal to your nostalgic side, note that it means you won't be engaging in any genuine boxing here. For the most part, you'll be learning your opponents' wacky, unfair attacks so you can dodge their strikes and counterpunch. Attempting to take the offensive rarely works; you'll find your hits don't even register, whether your opponent is blocking or not. I really wanted something similar to EA's Fight Night games, perhaps with some goofy cartoonish characters along for the ride, but this is just one-dimensional and repetitive.

    Overall, you may get a workout but you probably won't have a lot of fun doing it. A missed opportunity and, given that this game has scored decently among reviewers, a sad indication that the bar for PSVR games remains lower than it should be.    … Expand

    I was really surprised by how well this looks and plays on the PSVR. It's definitely 'inspired"by the old Punch-Out series on Nintendo and that's a good thing. Knockout League has 9 fighters, each increasing in difficulty, and several mini games set up as training experiences. Expect a workout while playing this game with all the ducking, dodging and punching. My only criticism has to doI was really surprised by how well this looks and plays on the PSVR. My only criticism has to do with the headset and not the game since this was the first game I've played on PSVR that the fat cord on the headset became an issue.     This game is a lot of fun and also extremely exhausting. Right now after two fights and a mini-game or two, I'm spent. The more I play the better my cardio has become. As most people point out, it really is the VR successor to Punch-Out. So if you wanted to ever actually be the person in the ring vs a bunch of cartoonish fighters, this is the game you want . Watch the patterns and swing away.

    This seemed pretty good and potentially good exercise but I found the controls a little imprecise which probably has to do with the crappy move controllers which I hate and refuse to use unless absolutely required. Graphics are good. People who enjoy boxing games should like this. Not sure how this compares to Creed because I haven't played that yet.

    If you're looking for a VR game that gives you a good workout at the same time, this is definitely a good choice. Though it can get a bit tedious with the later opponents, it's still a lot of fun and a great pick up and play.

    So far, this is my favorite VR game on PSVR. I've played RE, Skyrim, and all the big AAA titles, but they didn't seem like VR was the core focus. With KO League, everything about the games feels like it was originally designed for VR. Tons of polish around the characters, but it's the core game mechanic that makes this game work so well.     Multiple Fight modes allows for great replay-ability. New punching bag update is awesome.

    Grab Games has done a great job of marrying the winning formula of Punch-Out! with virtual reality. Learning how to handle each fighter’s repertoire of attacks takes patience and memorization but on the plus side, you’ll get a great workout along the way. It’d be cool if the mini-games offered more advantages to the player but that’s no reason to ignore this fun and energetic sports game.

    Knockout League’s colourful cast of characters look chunky in PlayStation VR, and stepping into the ring with them is an immersive treat. The puzzle-like gameplay sticks rigidly to the Punch-Out!! format and can feel like you’re memorising attack patterns rather than engaging in a real fight, which grates in the later bouts. That said, fun minigames and great attention to detail make this an unexpected treat – just be prepared to earn your victories physically because even the fittest specimens will feel this game in their legs.
