It's like a warm hug. The art style, music and humor is really well done. The story is gripping and damn charming. The gameplay is fun and relaxing, works brilliantly alone with the AI and with a friend.

The aesthetic is awesome. The story is charming and pulls all the right heart strings. If you're looking for a well told, polished story. This is the game for you.

Great little game, especially in couch coop mode. Really fun and with a charming style. 2 little girls running around (screaming) and riding their bikes looking for buried treasure. But it also has heart and deals with sensitive subjects well.

This was delightful. I love the quirky art style. It captures the joy of just messing around as kids, even in the middle of an Important Adventure (which includes imaginary elements that are very nicely displayed). My kids loved taking turns playing it along with me.

Beautiful and charming game...I’d really like to know why people are downvoting this. Probably just the usual XBox fanboys who are missing out again.

Such a lovely game. I was expecting great art from the trailers but the story took me by surprise. It talks about growing up, about friendship... I don’t want to spoil it... just play it :)

The art and story are good but the gameplay is just fine. Hard to know where to go next and not much tips to guide you. The game is quite long too. Quite annoying to get all boxes collectiable.

Simply put, it's a charming game that will take you back to your youth. It's quirky, fun and a really great looking game. And best of all there's co-op so I can play with my wife and family!

This game deserves your attention. It might not be the next triple AAA bombshell, but this game evokes a "feeling" that few other games can even come close to. This feeling is that of pure nostalgia of youth, and the underlying grit and determination that drives all human beings. Honestly, for the price of pizza, you just can't go wrong jumping into the charming world of Knights & Bikes.

One of the most charming games I've ever played, the art is fantastic and is great to play in coop.
There are a couple of frustrating moments but I forgive those with all my heart in exchange for the rest of the experience.
Also, you can jump in puddles and feed geese, what else can you possibly ask for.

Knights and Bikes is a joy-filled romp from beginning to end. The visuals are breathtaking, with a unique hand drawn style you won't find anywhere else. The love that's been poured into this adventure is obvious and makes for a totally fresh gaming experience. Best played with a friend, but works well in single player too. Highly recommended for kids and adults alike

At this point I'd give it 10 out of 10

then it turns out that playing with someone else is a letdown cause half the time it's taken you ages to get to the edge of the screen that isn't progress so you have to trudge across to the other side, and then that's not it either, and the perspective and art style can make it really unclear about what's a wall or entrance and sometimes it's just broken and your save file is now corrupted so you reload from the thankfully great bookmark system and then cutscenes aren't skippable, which is hilarious because of the amount of times we skipped dialogue as both of us are pressing buttons (apart from the times Nessa's dialogue can only be advanced by Nessa) and movement is a bit slow and the camera moves a bit floatily and...

It's absolutely a delight, but it's just very rarely *fun*

Such a lovely game, both in looks and outlook, with love, loss and friendship being the main themes.
Can be played solo (with AI controlling other character), but you can still swap between the two if you wish. This is extra helpful if you get stuck (the puzzles aren’t that difficult) as the AI will likely show you how to solve it.
Would recommend to adults and children (7+ would be

I've been playing this with my 8 year old daughter and we're having a blast. It's a quirky, charming game that reminds me a lot of action RPGs that I used to play when I was a kid.

While sold initially on the game's striking storybook aesthetic and an energetic personality where high-fives are a healing mechanism, I was completely unprepared for the surprisingly deep vein of melancholy at the heart of the game.

The gameplay is simple and feels mostly designed to encourage exploration but the true magic of 'Knights and Bikes' is in the detail of its world and story, with a clarity of vision that really only comes from projects with such a small team as this one's. This eye for detail creates an environment where the lines between childhood imagination and the damp confines of reality blur, most obvious and heart-breakingly when our story is set at the outset of our child hero's first adult realizations of how little control they wield over the world, contrasted wonderfully by the gameplay's empowerment of them to literally combat supernatural forces with the tools of childhood. In this way it captures the idealized magic of chilldhood in a way similar games, and even other kinds of media, often fail to, while tempering the nostalgic whimsy with the harsh fact that childhood is just as frequently scary, frustrating, and a lesson in grief.

While this review may sound incongruous with the upbeat presentation of the game's trailers, I only focus on this point to pinpoint my reaction to this game and the one adjective I feel summarizes it: lovable. Within moments of booting up the game I was invested in a way I wasn't anticipating and it is a mark of the creative team's vision and care that it is so. They loved their island and their precocious heroines and I can feel that everywhere in this little pocket world filled with worms, sandwich bag tags, and barnacles silently keeping their ancient secrets. Nothing feels frivolous, it doesn't draw its power from being clever, being particularly difficult, or smacking even faintly of ironic detachment. It's one of my favorite kinds of indie discoveries, where instead you get to step into someone's love of storytelling, peeking around corners and turning over rocks in their imagination. It's a magical thing to experience and something I hope people will take a moment to take in for themselves.

You're given the choice to not ask further about it or to ask her more about her loss. My son is a very caring soul and he wears his emotions on his sleeves. I asked my son if we should ask her more about her loss and when he looked up at me I saw the tears in his eyes. It was incredibly heart warming to see him connect so immediately to the story and have so much empathy to these rich deep characters. I said we didn't need to ask but he gave me a huge hug and said yes lets ask. As a parent these moments are so rare to be present for and share with your kids. Needless to say he's getting much more than a just a good video game out of this. Although he isn't satisfied with just the wellies and wishes for a better weapon. Expand

I backed this game for creative talent who made it and I play it because it evokes feelings and joy that no one game can. It's a blast of colorful artistic brilliance and playful nostalgia. Co-Op is so much fun and riding solo is a delight too.

With so much to like about Knights and Bikes, finding things to complain about wasn’t easy. One thing that came to mind is that the fifth chapter takes considerably more time to complete than the others, and at times seems to drag. However, the rest of the adventure has excellent pacing. I also had a small issue with the ending. There’s a twist that’s hinted at shortly before it unfurls, but this foreshadowing would have had greater impact if was built up earlier instead of appearing so close to the finale. Otherwise, I have no issues with this incredibly well-written story. Knights and Bikes is an adorable little treasure worth finding.

I have nothing but good things to say about Knights and Bikes, it has a great story, great presentation and it is fun to boot. It has a beautiful art style, great music and will keep you entertained throughout its short but very sweet campaign. If you like simple but entertaining games, you will love it, as I did.
