For a game that came out in 2022, Kao the Kangaroo seems a bit... outdated. The one thing I enjoyed was the beautiful colors and bright designs that were appealing to the eye. The one thing I enjoyed was the beautiful colors and bright designs that were appealing to the eye. There were some quite decent platforming elements, with attempts to try and keep the player engaged from level to level. But, one thing I can say is that there were a ton of glitches and I believe the game could have used some more testing and polishing before being released. The music within the game was actually pretty good, but there were moments where I felt like the voice acting lacked, especially with trying to sink with the characters' movements. I did enjoy going back and getting all the collectibles, but I did have issues with trophies not appearing when I completely collected everything within the game. This required me to start over and make sure I get every collectible before fighting the final boss. Though the platforming is fine enough, the game suffers from being a bit too easy. Overall, I had some enjoyable moments going through this game, but some confusing moments as well. Expand

Kao the Kangaroo is a good 3D platform game, offering just the right amount of fun for those who like the genre. However, it is relatively short and easy, being aimed more at a younger audience. Also, some annoying bugs need to be fixed.

This is the sort of game that’s easy-going, relaxing and enjoyable to play. You don’t need to think too much about it; simply turn the game on, switch yourself off and enjoy. And right now, that’s something we all need more of in our lives. If you’re looking for a platforming game that breaks the mould, this isn’t it. But if you simply want a solid entry into the genre, one that sticks to the rules but does so with finesse, you’ll love Kao the Kangaroo.
