The voices are very great. I like the voice-acting and would play more games with the actors voicing characters or narrating or whatnot.

Its amazing its not a AAA title like most of the overhyped ones Sony is stuff doing throats through PR stunts which ultimately fail due to too much hype and very little attention to detail when it comes to fixing bugs. Probably the best Yakuza game from Sega in fact that there is no driving activities but still the whole approach of doing tasks to kill item just for the sake of doing so can get tiresome. The developer adds some puzzle solving skills to break the monotony. I found the girlfriend side quests also to be a waste of time in that its essentially sterlized for courtesties in japanese culture even with some of the mature themes involved. As with any Yakuza game, the fighting leaves something to be desired and is a mash of buttons as the main character can be overpowering rather easily with early ability upgrades attained easily. Another annoying thing, is the random battles that pop up constantly even during down times. Its fortunate the player's character is again overpowering to simply outrun enemies and avoid these endless battles. Expand

Saw all the critics which just a disappointment because it's not yakuza game. Well I personally love this game over yakuza to be honest. RGG never fails in their narrative which makes me glad that they can elevate the intensity of the story by creating this kind of series.

Gameplay wise is debatable but I prefer judgement because of the transition to be in the battle way more fluid IMO.

Gameplay wise is debatable but I prefer judgement because of the transition to be in the battle way more fluid IMO. In Yakuza it's like the game takes seconds to prepare the stage for you where in Judgement you can head into the battle without any interruption of the battle system. And, you can do detective stuff and mission in Judgement which is cool.

Well if we talk about mini-games, I guess it's no debate that yakuza is way more superior on that area. It doesn't mean the mini-games in Judgement are bad but it's just not as iconic and memorable as Yakuza mini-games. I even didn't play any mini-games after Chapter 4 onward.

Talking about the story, Judgement has a very engaging and interactive story which makes me want to keep progressing in the main story and of course, no skip. The pacing of the story is great, how they portray each character are also nice and the plot twist of course unpredictable which makes me in a complete shock after I learn about the real identity of the "Mole".

Last, about the side story (called side cases in Judgement) are also great because this is the way for you to get 4 girlfriends. The friendship events are also meaningful which they will assist you throughout your gameplay in various of way.

If you are the type of game that don't care about story which make you keep skipping it, this game is not for you. I even suggest just never consider this game at all since you will never be able to respect the narrative in the game so you won't be able to get the full experience of the game. But, if you deeply care about the game's narrative, this game is 100% worth your money.

Thought this game was going to be bakage- until the release, but I was wrong. This game has one of the most amazing storylines in video games. You can play as Kimutaku, you can enjoy action, you can experience a deep and interesting human drama. It's 10/10.

The game has a great combat system, Kamurocho looks amazing and the story its pretty good, with an important extension that reaches the 40 hours+ which makes it kind of heavy on the gaming sessions and a little difficult to keep up with the pace with details and immersion. The side cases are one of the best plus of this game with a lot more of content keeping the quality on each one.

Story was very good and like in every RGG game you had a lot of strong characters, especially the main villain.

I was really invested in the whole case and enjoyed most of the side content which there is a ton of. You probably need upwards of 100 hours to platinum this game. Combat did get rather repetitive towards the end but I never got bored of the game.

It’s obvious the team didn’t have the budget of Yakuza 6 for this game. But that gives the game its own charm, like those criminal dramas on TV that you would never watch on purpose, but if you stumble upon one, you’re going to see it to the end. [Issue#239, p.52]

Whether you’re a long-time Yakuza fan or just coming to this series, Judgment is well worth the investment. Boasting a cracking story, oodles of content and a fantastic fighting system, this spin-off can keep you glued for days… possibly months.

Judgment is too afraid to let go of its defining "Yakuza" features, pushing detective gameplay to the side to let the combat mechanics shine. Its story is gripping and very enjoyable, running alongside the extra side content which is full of heart and entertainment. Give Judgment a shot, whether you're a die-hard Yakuza fan, or a newbie to the franchise.
