    I can't remember a game that has given me so much fun. From the first to the last minute! The game is full of creative ideas, the graphics are excellent and the story fits perfectly with the wacky setting. I can only give it the highest score.

    A game which is absolutely not even a bit my tipical genre, but the ambient it creates playing with your significant other / friend is phenomenal.

    This game is the undoubtedly the best choice you can make, if you plan to introduce someone into gaming, who wouldn't do it by themself.

    This game is insanely fun. Though I didn't find the story so engaging (the book of love is extremely annoying), I can't give it less than 10 due to the excellent quality of the gameplay. I'm playing it with my brother and we've just beaten the clock boss. I don't want it to end.

    It takes two is a really nice game for two players with a surprisingly emotional story. But you need a second person with a not so little amount of skills, otherwise you will have a very hard time since it really does take two people to complete each and every challange. The game was lucky to win Game of the Year, 2021 had no real challengers otherwise it would never stand a chance.

    This game is a GEM. I haven't been so much into a game for many years. Regarding the gameplay- there are so many new ideas integrated, the game is so much fun and I can't believe how much NOT repetitive. The levels design is gorgeous.

    I love it! I'm buying all of the studio's other games.

    Amazing co-op game! At first I kept seeing all the ads for the game and it didn't peak my interest, but I heard some people say good things about it. Convinced my friend to play it with me and we both loved it.

    One of the best co-op games in a long time.

    The game is fine. I liked it at first, but it got boring near the end. I expected the story to be much better, but that wasn't the case. To be honest, the ending was pretty bad. But Hakim was fantastic. I played the game with my little brother, and he thought it was an 8.

    A massive step up from A Way Out which was an impressive game itself but this takes it to another level altogether. Amazing level design, fantastic gameplay mechanics and a very good story overall despite a somewhat abrupt disappointing ending. I was very surprised with how much this game has to offer in terms of content as I racked up roughly 15 hours on my first playthrough. A joy toA massive step up from A Way Out which was an impressive game itself but this takes it to another level altogether.     Im not joking this was the christmas game i was always hoping for, I played it with my girlfriend and we had such a blast and we will also replay it since it it FULL of amazingly polished mechanics, It takes tow does a lot and they do ALOT AMAZING. I say it is my favorite couch co-op game ever made. Next game that is comparable amazing is Broforce which is also so much fun with friends on a couch.

    I had to create a Metacritic account just to review this game. It Takes Two is a great game to play especially with friends and family. The missions, the mini games, the co-op and the story line was all done perfectly, I never felt bored or annoyed during any part of the game.     What an incredible game. It starts with one wow and that's keeps coming. Never seen so much details in evironment and actions in a game. It never gets boring. This will be one to remember and I hope that Hazelight studios keep coming with more games!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It Takes Two is a great coop game. One of the best designed puzzle/platformers I've ever played. The visuals are gorgeous, the variety is insane, the controls are pleasant and responsive, and every new area brings something new.

    At the same time the story is a huge weak link.

    The game centers around a husband and wife on the brink of divorce who are magically transformed into toys and have to navigate and world of magic and imagination, where toys come to life and squirrels wage a high-tech military campaign against wasps.

    The mini-stories that every new area is centered around are pretty great: they're fun, quirky and pretty out there in a good way. But the major plotline is, plainly, mediocre. First, the game does very little to make the characters even remotely likable. The man and the woman are in a toxic relationship, they shower each other with generic family-drama-style whiney complaints; the daughter character is hardly more than an equally generic sad face. There's no depth to the conflict, and there's very little reason to root for them. They look like people who, indeed, should not be together.

    The other story issue I have with the game are the sudden displays of cruelty and unceremonious violence in this otherwise quirky and funny world.

    The protagonists-turned-toys are shown in-universe as being able to constantly resurrect upon dying, and they're constantly subjected to being killed (including by each other) for laughs—note, they're also clearly shown to *not* be immune to pain. Characters (toys and even household objects, many of which are randomly alive in this world) are routinely hurt, mistreated and downright killed off. And while this may be viewed as an intentional attempt to demonstrate how these people grew cold and unempathetic over the course of their failed marriage and how this supposedly contrasts the mind of their innocent child, even if that was the idea, it doesn't work at all. The game paints a cutesy, brightly-colored, fairy-tale-like atmosphere, as if it's going to tell a Pixar-like tale of emotional growth, and scenes of cruelty feel downright tone-deaf against that backdrop.

    Me and my S.O. have been playing It Takes Two and enjoying the gameplay a lot, but the story bits have made us both uncomfortable more than once. We're not setting our expectations high for the conclusion.    … Expand

    My wife and I loved this game. It was the first time since Overcooked that she was demanding we play this instead of me playing solo in other games.

    Incredible graphics, music, zero bugs on launch and a funny lead character makes this game a 10.

    Incredible game! My ten year old son and I played this game through in three nights for maybe 6 hours at a time. The way the levels progress and change pulls you in and keeps you constantly entertained. The story is well written with a messege of love throughout and the music is beautiful. We had so much fun and laughs playing this game. Incredibly satisfied. If you want to play a gameIncredible game! It took an hour or so to realise that one of the great joys of the game was the absence of hunting/hoarding loot. Just pure experiential gameplay and narrative.Pure excellence! The development team should be beaming with pride with the outcome of this exceptional title. Immediately immersive & uses the full palette of PS4 capabilities, uniting motion, vibration, sound, speed and urgency. It took an hour or so to realise that one of the great joys of the game was the absence of hunting/hoarding loot. Just pure experiential gameplay and narrative.     Longevo il giusto.
    Livello di difficoltà leggermente tarato verso il basso, il che permette di giocare anche con un compagno che non sia necessariamente esperto del genere.

    Pretty outdated graphics, animation like it's 10 years old. However, I give a rating of 9 as an encouragement to the Creators for creating a forgotten type of game for two people on a console. I remind all creators that consoles support more than one controller and gained popularity thanks to the games for two players.

    We need more of couch co-op game like this one instead of online co-op. Hopefully they are making another masterpiece of couch co-op game because its very hard nowadays to find a couch co-op game (in the world of Playstation).

The game treats the characters' stupidity and bitterness and neglect as a joke, and it's disgusting. Not because you CAN'T joke about that kinda stuff, but because this is a joke without a punchline: those despicable humans get forgiveness at the end, despite the fact that they did not earn it.     This is a great game. The authors managed to create a game that is simple to play, but still never gets repetitive. The story is touching and it makes you care about the characters a lot. My girlfriend and I loved playing it.

    The absolute perfect game to play with someone who doesn’t game often. I played it with my girlfriend and we had a blast! The gameplay changes all the time, and the game manages to be challenging while being very forgiving. I really enjoyed this one, I hope more couch multiplayer titles come along!

    More like It Takes Years. It's very long and drags out so much that we got incredibly bored and were wishing it to be over.
    The four points are for the co-op missions, which are honestly very fun, and the environments are very pretty to look at, but the story drags so much. The reasons for their divorce were laughable.

    The only real issue I have with this game is that the story is mostly (except that one part, you know the one) generic and un-memorable. Controls are fantastic, gameplay is fantastic, I recommend this game to just about everyone. A really great follow up to "A Way Out" that allows for new video game players to experience the magic that a lot of more serious players seek.

    This is one of the most funnier video games that i ever played, the story is original and even beeing not the better part of the experience, is kinda interessing. The fact that this game is maded for playing with a friend makes him so original and had a very different gameplay form the majority of the games that are launched nowdays

    This was the most fun I've had while gaming in a while. The graphics & art are amazing, the gameplay is excellent and the story is decent enough. The little minigames in between also add a nice little distraction from the main story and add to the diversity of the gameplay. The only minus was the camera which sometimes can act a little sketchy, Other than that, absolute must-play.This was the most fun I've had while gaming in a while.     Вангую, что ваша подружка/невеста/любовница/жена просто не вывезет узкие тайминги, сложные комбинации из двойных прыжков и перекатов и в целом абсолютное недружелюбие к новичку. Вы будете сидеть как дебил перед экраном, а ваша возлюбленная в сотый, а может и в тысячный раз пытаться перепрыгнуть движущиеся лезвия и игра даже не попытается ей помочь. И    Игра технически и сюжетно хороша, НО!

    The gameplay is very fun. I played it with my cousin cause I had nobody else (*wipes away tear*). But boy....that elephant scene is actually **** scarring. The 2 main characters are monsters for that. Seriously. I hated the main characters after that, but honestly I didn't really like them before either.     It Takes Two is a better version of A Way Out if you ask me. It Takes Two makes me care about the characters more than AWO did, which in itself is a big ask. Some sections were pretty "mid" but they were so incomparably small and insignificant that they wouldn't affect my final score.     The best co-op game i have played i enjoy the concept of the story and the characters have great personality i enjoy playing this game every single time this is a piece of art! I love seeing the Swedish inspired house cause the game was made in Stockholm Sweden this game is worth buying.

    A great and charming game with lots of puzzles and beautiful arts. Although, the puzzlez could be more challenging and I wish it had better graphics.
    But still best choice to be entertained !

    It Takes Two takes the tried and true action/adventure-puzzler genre and turns it into possibly the most collaborative split-screen co-op game ever created. Coupled with the presented marital issues between the main characters that make for fantastic springboards to discuss with your own Player 2, It Takes Two will strongly resonate with just about anyone who picks up a controller. Although character development was a bit lacking and the story somewhat sluggish, these issues do not diminish the incredibly imaginative level design and supremely enjoyable boss battles. If you’re looking for a case study in co-op puzzle games that deserves to define the genre going forward, grab a partner and pick up It Takes Two.
