Apr 20, 2018Island Time VR is an enjoyable and inoffensive little diversion that I spent a few fun hours with. That said, I have a hard time recommending Island Time to anyone that isn’t spending an afternoon giggling with buddies. This is the sort of game that is fun to demo VR on a rainy day, providing entertainment while watching someone flail around. But unfortunately, there just isn’t enough gameplay present on this tiny island to engage an experienced VR player for more than a couple of short sessions.

Apr 9, 2018Island Time VR's mascot Carl (voiced by Kinda Funny's Greg Miller) can't save this game from mediocrity. The game doesn't belong on PlayStation VR as it painfully reminds us of the platform's well-known technical limitations such as limited tracking capabilities and limited control options. The game often feels unfair because of the lackluster controls and when repetition sets in, you wish you were playing something else instead. The price for PlayStation users is higher than the PC version with no optimization to show for it which is inexcusable.
