I thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finish. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay controls are tight. I found the story interesting and the pacing was well done. I'm giving this game a 10 despite the fact that I enjoyed the First Light DLC even more (which says a lot), and I also gave The Last of Us a 10 (but it deserves an 11).

I'm hoping they do another DLC like First

The gameplay is flawless and complex. Your powers are not only incredibly well designed and a pleasure too look at, they're also very diverse and great to use. They feel natural and interesting. The game has numerous activities aside from the main story which are very fun to do. I usually only went to main-story missions after hours of side-quests.Fun!

The story is captivating and interesting as well. Following a very dinamic and funny character, the story is easily the best in the franchise if you ask me.

The main story playthrough is not that long, but it might as well count as half of the game, since it should be done in two playthroughs (good and evil). Because you mainly have different powers, activities, missions, etc, so the second time around it will probably be just as fun.

It's a great game from all aspects and I want to thank and congratulate Sucker Punch and Sony for what they've achieved. Amazing!

Mother of god. Well, it's good to see that nimrods have not irreparably damaged the score on Second Son. But it is a shame that when a game this good exists it does not get given due praise for it's accomplishments. I will give this my best QUICK review. Story - damn good - but I could have gone for more integration of core character motivations. Such as: the most beautiful Fetch; why not have a date mission or something to explore the depth of her more. She could have been fleshed out significantly. Eugene as well I feel could have played a much bigger character centric role but I am thankful for the depth of his integration as it stands (super bad ass)... I will say the powers are the best I have ever seen instituted in a video game. There is simply nothing like this game out there, and I love that Sucker-punch has invested so heavily in this franchise. Delsin is a fun protagonist, and I enjoy his banter but I wish they would have recorded more one liners so things would have been mixed up a bit. SPRAY-PAINT - Very fun indeed in this game with the stencils and controller integration (you can see the paint actually drying slightly while you are spraying in the right light!). That brings me to the visual polish, and well holy hell, is it the best looking thing I have ever seen. That's it. damn fine work. Could have been a little longer. Great variety, and extremely polished ass-kicking ride. Expand

By far the best inFamous game in the series. If you liked the previous games at all this is a must buy for you. You definitely won't be disappointed. I mean, I can't guarantee money back or anything :-p but you'd be insane to not fall in love with this title.

I guess Sony and Sucker Punch chose to invest their time, money and effort on the game itself, instead of doing it on the marketing side. It´s the only reasonable explanation for the HUGE gap between reviewers and gamers opinions on this new fantastic Infamous game.

I've seen some 0's because they didn't like the game...since when is that right? That game deserves a 5 or 6 at WORST...but a ZERO? That' just pathetic. SO, I've never even SEEN the game-play but am looking forward to playing it when the price drops some. Therefore I am giving it a TEN, a big ol' 10/10. That makes about as much sense but it will even out.

The story its compelling, very interesting, the characters equally, the missions and gameplay its very, very fun, And a game serves for that; for fun, for entertainment. My background knowledge of the game setting therefor wasn't fantastic, but to be honest I didn't find that you needed to play the first 2 games to be able to hop right into I:SS and enjoy it.

I:SS has been my most anticipated title for this generation so far, so I have tried to watch as little coverage as possible, and that really helped me enjoy the game more. I was familiar with what the first 2 powers were from seeing videos, but had no idea what the 3rd power was going to be. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out.

From a graphical standpoint this game easily outshines any other current generation game, PS4 or Xbone. The models themselves are fantastic. The reflections in the water from buildings, lights, etc. are beautiful. The framerate only dropped enough to be noticeable when pulling of the 3rd power sets ultimate move a couple different times, but not every time.

From a gameplay standpoint it's great. The way Delsin interacts with the environment, uses his abilities and upgrades his abilities all feel right. The AI is more intelligent than your typical AI. If you walk by a DUP squad and act normal, nothing happens, but if you use any of your powers they immediately get on the offensive, which makes sense.

Story-wise it was fairly good. Not the best, but up there. There were a few emotional spots that made me feel something at least, which most games fail at.

If you have a PS4 and don't have this title yet, get your @$$ to the store and buy it!!!

ISS borrows, smartly, from other successful games. If you enjoyed collecting items and completing missions off of the in-game map in Assassin's Creed (and I do), you will find more of it here in ISS. If you liked upgrading skills and searching for new ones, that's here too. Snappy control and marvelous graphics come together to give the player with these preferences lots to do.

I should also mention that the characters are very likeable, which surprises me a little. They seem a little more human than in any game I've played (probably due in part to the exceptional facial capture technology and excellent acting).

Also, the games looks absolutely outstanding.

Some reviewers have mentioned that the gameplay is repetitve after a while. They must be playing a different game because I've not seen this at all. In fact, I'm not sure what they're referring to exactly.

The city that you can freely roam feels quite alive although I would have liked it even more if it had suburbs. Cars and people fill the city quite well but could be better, I haven't seen ambulances or fire trucks. City size is quite large, definitely much larger than the city in Arkham City. And roaming it with your powers is amazing, the framerate feels so smooth.

I got the platinum for this game and enjoyed it a lot and will be coming back for dlc and i'm sure i'll be replaying it just for fun from time to time. I give it 9.5 out of 10.

I don't think Ive seen a game yet on next gen consoles that has this much fluidity when moving to the combat. It never stutters even when your taking on tons of people and destroying things at the same time it's consistently smooth through out. The powers are great only three of them were interesting and awesome to use. The obvious power your get at the end doesn't really compare to the other three IMO. AI is good and smart when it wants to be. Not saying the AI is bad but at times your notice the AI just sitting around trying to find you and you be somewhat close to them.
Its a good story, but not everyone will like it. It has its moments where it got interesting other times not so much. If your not trying to get all the extra stuff and want to get through the story you could beat it in about 10 to 12hours which isn't bad but could of been longer. Voice acting I will say is great and Troy Baker did a great job with his Delsin Rowe character.
There's enough replay value to keep on playing, but not as much as I would of liked it to be. If your like me trying to 100% on your first play-through with collectibles, side missions, and clearing each part of the map the replay value will start to shrink unless you sign up for the paper-trail which can give you more replay value. Overall this game is worth the purchase and you won't be disappointed with it.

Its not a hard game other than a few places (He Who Dwells is NOT my favorite part) and is pretty forgiving on normal difficulty. The dialogue is well written, the story is well done and very well voice acted and the motion capture is just fantastic. This is easily one of the best launch titles for either the PS4 or the XBO and if you enjoy open world action and being a hero, this is a game you should not miss! The game gets dinged for the supposed "morale choice" system as it is not a choice beyond the first one - once you have made that choice your ultimate power is driven by sticking to that initial decision. There is no substantial consequence to your decisions either so the entire idea is mostly an after thought. ALSO NOTE: The Paper Trail FREE DLC is so very, very well done. With that addition this has to be a 9.5 - for metacritic I am revising this to a 10.

TL;DNR: 10 - Great story with superb voice acting, truly next gen graphics, great game play mechanics. However the meaningless "morality" system appears to be an after thought and should have been better developed, serviceable soundtrack, great atmosphere and overall a fun game with just a few annoying technical control issues (He Who Dwells will sometime have you run backwards despite pushing forward on the stick causing you to die - just as an example) in places but otherwise a great launch title for the next gen PS4. Recommended for those who like to roam a bit and also experience a story - not Mass Effect level of story telling but a good story none the less.

Technology/engine: 10 - The rendering is amazing and really brings Seattle to life. There was not a moment of delay or tearing - phenomenal engine behind this game with great depth, clarity and detail.

AI: 7 - Not the brightest nor the dumbest AI, its passable.

Graphics: 10 - Superb and very realistic graphics rendered flawless by the engine. Great use of motion capture and excellent, seamless integration of cut scenes.

Sound: 10 - The sound is fantastic with great distance and depth recognition and perfect sound effects and good use of the mini speaker on the dual shock controller.

Soundtrack: 8 - beyond the Nirvana cover there is not much out of the ordinary nor off putting about the soundtrack. I won't go out and buy it, but it was never a real factor in the game. Appropriate intensities to fit the situations.

Voice acting: 10 - Excellent voice acting all around. Well delivered dialogue that is very believable and appropriate.

    Crafting: N/A

Customization: N/A - Very minor part of the game - Custom vests are available as your free sectors (not very intuitive for changing them though) and you get to spend points as you acquire shards for the abilities that interest you. Not a lot of depth here but that is okay for the game that it is.

Game play systems: 10 - Simply fun game play with lots of side missions and quests. Paper trail -available about 1/3 of the way through, is a nice addition and works seamlessly with the PS4 and a tablet or PC. The abilities make sense and the game is forgiving if you mess up - just run and hide until you regenerate health. Great fun all around. The morality system was meaningless fluff however after your initial choice.

Controls: 7 - The controls are flawless except in the areas where they need to be flawless - boss encounters. I had a number of deaths due to controller errors and lack of responsiveness in boss battles and that is my only gripe.

Story:9 - Well written and great pacing to the game's story.

    Multiplayer: N/A

Immediately you start the game and are just in awe of how much detail was put into it. The water actually looks like water, the faces look every bit as impressive as Killzone Shadow Fall's (minus the horrible audio-lip sync issues that KZ:SF had) and good god...when you arrive at the destination you spend most of the game in (Hint: It's a Washington State city...)...don't even get me started on how cleverly the environmental elements are place and work with you. The particle effects...beautiful.

My ONLY complaint with the game: 3 separate occasions in the entire game (not too shabby) I watched civilians walk into walls and momentarily glitch. This type of thing takes away from the immersion, BUT it's not enough to take away from the game as a whole.

Delsin, unlike Cole, has a fantastic personality and sense of humor. While I appreciated Cole and had respect for the character, video games are about escape into the world the character are in. I'd compare the personalities of Cole and Delsin to that of Batman and Iron Man, respectively. Sure, I could be a hard-ass with the occasional one-liner...or I could have some fun being the immature brat with superpowers. Both have their place in video games and media in general, but I enjoyed how Delsin takes the situation he's in seriously while not taking HIMSELF too seriously.

I don't know how exactly to explain it...but this game feels...well, FUN. It's fun in a way many games aren't able to be. It creates scenarios where you can say "wait...I can climb up THAT?" or "Ha, I didn't know I could use that as an energy source!" or "Wow, I wasn't expecting that to happen!" In the same way some of the greatest games of the all time have done, Infamous Second Son challenges players to actually have fun at the same time as playing through the story. You're not saying "ugh, if I could just get past this one part...". You're saying "I liked the way that felt!".

Second Son is a harmonious melding of an intriguing story (especially when you take it to it's fullest potential with "Infamous Paper Trail") and entertaining gameplay. Maybe the plot isn't a highly cerebral one as is that of "Bioshock Infinite", but it doesn't have to be. It's a perfect balance that makes the world and it's characters come to life.
