    A great third installment to the InFamous series. Solid graphics, fun gameplay, and really enjoyable controls. Definitely a little repetitive (like all the InFamous games are), but a great game overall!

    Solid fun game with amazing graphics, but not great like 1 and 2, the characters are interesting and story is decent, but took me a long time to beat because it didnt capture me that much.

The setting and the story are well made, the characters are good, the gameplay is incredibly satisfying and offers some kind of variety with the multiple powers. I might say I didn't really like how the game ends if you choose the infamous path, too brutal for my own liking, but apart from that, it was a blast from start to end. Got the platinum trophy in just 23 hours!… Expand

    Lets talk about the combat and parkour. Combat is fluid, and each power has separate traits and weaknesses. Smoke is the most balanced, ranging from moderate hit speed and moderate damage. Neon has faster attack speed but    inFAMOUS: Second Son is a blend of great combat, amazing storytelling, and unforgettable characters. It might be the best superhero/villain game I've ever played.

    Lets talk about the combat and parkour. Combat is fluid, and each power has separate traits and weaknesses. Smoke is the most balanced, ranging from moderate hit speed and moderate damage. Neon has faster attack speed but deals less damage. Video has slower attack speed, but deals more damage, and concrete has slower attack speed but kills standard enemies in one shot. Parkour is also fun, and I find myself jumping from building to building to be incredibly satisfying. However, video and concrete are the only two powers I deem to be useless in parkour, since video has wings that you can fly up walls with, but the can't be upgraded to last as long as you want, and concrete, you can hover off the ground, but you also can't upgrade it to last as long as you want. Which is unfortunate, because concrete is the last power you get, and it should be a good one.

    Well, what about the story and characters? Story is great, characters are likeable, especially Delsin and Reggie, and the main antagonist, Augustine, is understandable, and you can (kind of) get behind why she does what she does. Other character like Fetch and Eugene are great additions too. You play as Delsin throughout the game, and the game seems to adopt this kind of "choose your path" gameplay, which is really cool. But if you chose the evil side, it wouldn't really make much sense. See, the game doesn't give any suggestion that Delsin is the type of guy to kill a bunch of civilians and be fine with it. At the beginning of the game, he seems like a really nice guy, who cares for his people, and will save anyone in trouble. Killing civilians seems out of pocket for a character like Delsin, he doesn't have any backstory that suggest why he would do these things.

    Lastly is the world. Seattle, Washington is a beautiful and vibrant world, and the day-night cycle adds a type of uniqueness to it. There's much to do in the world, but it's not too much to the point where it feels overwhelming. There are several districts you can conquer and clear out, so if you've finished the campaign, you have things to do after the game ends. Enemies are fairly balanced, and none of them feel over-powered (maybe the turrets on Expert difficulty). Boss fights are great, balanced, and fluid, and enemy variety is introduced perfectly. The world is never empty, and civilians allow the world to feel alive.

    In conclusion, inFAMOUS: Second Son is an incredible "choose your path" game. Even though the evil karma side is awkward to play on, and video and concrete feel bad to use for parkour, excellent combat, great characters, and the bright and colorful world of Seattle are what make this game great.    … Expand

    The game is a masterpiece, controls felt absolutely bombastic, the gameplay is kicking balls and story is just *mwah*. The only and only downside to this game is the karma choices, but this does not let down overall game.

    A blast of a game, with fantastic gameplay and world/level design. Whilst the binary choice system has always felt a little limiting and this game doesn't really break that trend, the gameplay implications of your story decision are just as great if not better than the other mainline Infamous games.

    The only thing I wish this game had is a lock on mode. The aiming was so damn annoying. The game was good though. The Neon power was cool af. The story was alright. Don't have much to say. It was a good game.

    This game has become a PS4 classic for a reason. The game is fun to play and easy to navigate. The choice of good and evil paths make the game easily replayable, with both endings being satisfying. Getting the game to 100% fairly accessible and easy, highly recommended.

The last arc (last couple of missions) rob the player from the freedom because we are forced to use specific powers. It's also waves after waves of enemies, mini-bosses, and even BOSSES (plural). It's as if the final arc had been developed be a different team.

    Great game with great combat, even after playing through the game its fun to just turn it on and try out different combat styles. Story was average. Also the good and bad karma point system is nice, the good karma being harder to get level 5 than the bad one ibviously. But enjoyable playing through with both bad and good karma.

    Great gameplay, but game is way too short. Traversal is the best part by far. Was a little disappointed as you have literally nothing to do after finishing the game. Your choices are not so hard, is always a good one and a bad one, nothing to make you think about or test your moral.

I enjoyed all of the mechanics like switching between elements. Neon was unquestionably a standout. Unfortunately, I received the final element after I had completed everything, so I didn't get to use it much, but it certainly felt powerful. The story wasThis game took me completely by surprise. I thought it was fantastic. It reminded me of Control, one of my favorite games of all time. I enjoyed all of the mechanics like switching between elements. Neon was unquestionably a standout. Unfortunately, I received the final element after I had completed everything, so I didn't get to use it much, but it certainly felt powerful. The story was interesting and engaging, but the gameplay takes the cake as the strongest point of this game. I like how you can be honorable or infamous, which adds replayability to the game. The graphics are superior than any infamous game by far and as well as the gameplay. But huge negative things this game does is the lack of depth with side quests, notInfamous second son is a great infamous but, it's also a infamous game that takes a lot of steps back.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played this game in 2022. I may say it managed to surpass my expectations.

    I was drawn to this game by graphics which look stunning even by today standards. Rain-soaked, neon-lit Seattle is very detailed and believable. People in the streets behave realistically, there are many cars with some driving AI (which tends to be a great deal since Cyberpunk fail).
    I was impressed by the story. It's surprisingly emotional, you naturally feel sympathy for the convict who tries to reunite with his daughter, drug addict who takes revenge for her brother's death or bullied gamer who seeks acceptance and satisfaction in video games. Chemistry between Rowe brother is also strong suit of the game.
    Where game partially fails is gameplay. It might seem a bit repetitive and tedious. Throughout the entire playthrough I had an impression that Delsin is a weak superhero. The game doesn't allow you to increase his health so oftentimes you find yourself running away from battlefield amidst plethora of projectiles hitting you with pinpoint accuracy. One way to deal with it is to abuse the karmic superattack but it seems a bit cheesy. While you are eventually gonna have four types of super-powers they all feel very similar in how you use them.
    Overall it's a strong 8,5 game but the inclusion of Nirvana tips the scale somewhat so I gave it score of 9. It's a hidden gem in Playstation library.    … Expand

    O Jogo é incrível e a História é muito boa, só não dou nota 10 pois não é possível pular as cutscenes, mesmo que você ja tenha zerado o jogo, oque atrapalha pra quem vai platinar, porque a pessoa tem que zerar pelo manos uma vez a mais em um caminho diferente do usado na primeira vez!!

    My first ps4 game was technically amazing for me back then. I still consider it to be one of my favorite games mainly because of the sentiment when it comes to the story, I can admit that Infamous 1 and 2 were better structured but it is still an amazing game.

    The best game I've ever seen in my life. Although it came out on time, the graphics are very nice, the gameplay is super, the story is magnificent.

Когда тебе всю игру говорят что ты биотерорист и один из самых опасных людей в стране и при этот тебя может убить 2 солдата которые постоянно стреляют префаерам. Короче игра фигня конченая.     This game is a lot fun. It’s very hard though! The story is funny at times and keeps your attention. The combat is unique and entertaining but very repetitive. The game is also frustratingly hard. 7/10

En gameplay esta divertido, salvo que los poderes parecen ser desechables, en cuanto encuentras el siguiente en la campaña, automaticamente el anterior, a comparacion, es menos conveniente y menos efectivo para el gameplay, aparte el ultimo poder, el mas fuerte de todos, ya lo adquirimos al final del juego.
    En cuanto a la historia, tiene muchos huecos argumentales de continuidad, ahora ya no necesitan activar sus genes con la esfera del primer juego, o una explosión que la simule como en el segundo, sino que se activan por que si, ya que hasta donde sabemos, ni los prisioneros ni Delsing estuvieron expuestos a la explosion de la esfera ni de "la bestia", y otra es que, el final del segundo juego queda sin sentido, se nos explico que todos aquellos con genes conductores (con poderes activos o no) moririan, pero resulta que siempre no?!
    En cuanto a las misiones secundarias, resulta que literalmente son las mismas, limitandose a 6: encontrar una camara, pintar esa pared, pintar ese letrero, atacar a esa patrulla o puesto, encontrar un audio, encontrar a un agente encubierto... Y así solo esas dividiéndose repetitivamente por segmentos del mapa en un especie de copia-pega que se termina volviendo tedioso.
    Me compre el ps4 solo para jugar este, ya que los anteriores me habían dejado alucinado de lo buenos que eran, y me lleve tremenda decepción.    … Expand

    The gameplay and the open world were good, but I can't say the same about the DLC. There is a very bad DLC. In the same way, the story is not beautiful either.     Infamous: SS was released at a start of PS4 life cycle, but suddenly became on of the best exclusives on it. I really appreciate open world in here. He small enough to not turn into grindy thing, but big and filled enough to give a completionist feeling. I love movement system: you can hover over city, get boosts from satellite dishes, ventilation fans, speed up by neon ability - that allInfamous: SS was released at a start of PS4 life cycle, but suddenly became on of the best exclusives on it.     This was one of the first PS4 games I played and I really enjoyed it. The graphics were stunning, the lighting and rain effects and the colours just beautiful to look at. Delsin Rowe is a great protagonist no matter what path you take; he's smart, funny, has great character design, and he is brilliantly portrayed by Troy Baker. Ao iniciar e jogar essa bela obra, me assustei de cara com os gráficos lindos e com a jogabilidade suave e viciante ao usar o novo Dualshock 4 na época, simplesmente incrível a forma como esse jogo é feito, onde dá vontade de platinar com gosto. Me surpreendeu de início ao fim na sua história, que não é tão absurda, consegue ser genérica em alguns pontos, mas rende uma bela jogatina comigo desfrutando dos personagens bem carismáticos, como o protagonista Delsin, que é um adolescente que descobre que tem poderes, mas não possui nenhuma responsabilidade. Eu diria ao ver que o maior defeito desse jogo, é a falta de variedade de inimigos e os cortes de cenas esquisitos que surgem de repente, como na cena do Delsin sendo capturado e salvo pelos anjos, na minha jogatina, a tela simplesmente cortou de uma cena para outro em segundos, não sei se foi por bug, mas aconteceu nas duas zeradas que fiz.… Expand

    All four powers are unique and fun to use. Neon being the best for sure. My only criticism is it was pretty short and has a lot of filler missions but it was still super fun I loved the final boss battle. Not overly difficult even on the expert setting. Its just short and a bit repetitive. Nothing super special to it but it;s a fun game to play and beat in a few hours

    One of the best games that I have ever played. Brilliant graphics, cool gameplay, but not the best side quest. If you PS4/5, you should definitely try this game!

    The gameplay and characters were so fun and interesting I just wish we knew more about them and the world they live in. This games sets itself up for a franchise that is sadly (over 7 years later) never capitalized on. It was even more fun than the original. Hopefully one day they pick it back up and continue to build on this character.

    I've played this game in 2021 on PS5 and after 7(!!!) years after release this game is a bit outdated. Open world is very standard, even boring - activities in open world are very basic, repetitive and not interesting. Next thing to discuss is combat system - it's much better than story and characters but I didn't find it awesome - it's ok, not good, not terrible. I understand the complexity of implementing super-skills in open world but probably would be better to have less amount of skills and invest that saved time into several skill.

    So honestly the real score of this game is about 7.0. But as far as it is 7 years old and in 2014 I had scored it better so I've set 8.0.

    Btw one more plus of that game is that it is quite short - about 10 hours.    … Expand

    Вот и получается, что лучшей частью игры является визуал и звук. К геймплею, сюжету, персонажам есть множество вопросов и перепроходить ещё раз игру только из-за того, чтобы посмотреть новые способности и катсцены желания совсем нет, хоть игра и короткая.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So the Infamous series for those unfamiliar, is a series of games revolving around a population of powerful people called "Bio-terrorists". And in the game Infamous second son, we play Delsin, a funny boy with a penchant for rebellion who one day discovers he can take the powers of those bio-terrorists. And you will have to choose whether you use the same powers for good or bad purposes. I will not do spoilers for the plot, because I will let you experience it for yourselves. The gameplay is very fun, the switching between powers is almost instantaneous, and it's very fun to travel the world with your powers everywhere. The world of Infamous second son is simply spectacular, everywhere in the world you will find illuminated signs in restaurants, chimneys, electronics stores and many other things that you can use to fill your power meter. In addition, you can do a lot of things in the world, such as finding DUP skimmers (which are an organization that tries to capture bio-terrorists), destroying DUP areas and freeing the citizens imprisoned there, and more. And on the PlayStation 5 the game can reach 4K resolution at 60 frames per second or 1080p resolution at 120 frames per second, which is just amazing.
    In conclusion, Infamous second son is an amazingly simple game, Sucker Punch managed to perfectly show the incredible leap between the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, and on the way give us one of the best games for the PlayStation 4.    … Expand

    I was honestly expecting a lot, since I was a fan of the first two chapter of inFamous. But really, this version doesn't come close to the McGrath storyline, gameplay, and overall feeling of grandeur. For me, this was a experimental project from SuckerPunch to test the PS4 graphics, which are amazing at most points except when sometimes it is really dark and even hard to distinguish.I was honestly expecting a lot, since I was a fan of the first two chapter of inFamous.     The gameplay is boring. Through the game you end up gaining really boring powers and the actions are only slightly different between the powers so it ends up being really repetitive. So instead of having one super cool power like lighting and improving it, you end up with different boring powers which do the same basically. The boss fights are embarrassingly bad. The game is frustrating to play, since the firing powers are almost the only way to kill the NPCs (melee is super bad). The storyline is short and zero intriguing. I am very disappointed of the game and should not be included on the inFamous series.    … Expand

    I genuinely had so much fun with this game with all the different unique powers that 7 years later I can still remember how much fun I had with this game. I loved the story even though it wasn't really anything special but the superb voice acting really elevates it.

    This game aged really bad and the game is overall the worst of the saga. The story is not good and the main character feels very distant to the player, and the gameplay got stuck into the ps3.

    Good game. Great gameplay and graphics for a 2014 game. I really enjoy the super powers and i think characters are interesting. But they are boring af. The main villain is a completely idiot but you don't hate her, she makes you feel sad about her. Bad animations on feelings of all the characters and i didn't like voice acting too. The Main Character was an idiot too. He behaves like aGood game. Great gameplay and graphics for a 2014 game. I really enjoy the super powers and i think characters are interesting. Overall its a good game cause you can use many super powers and its open to you to choose if you wanna be good or evil. Also the collectibles are super easy and they're not drop them in the game. They have their story and you'll want to collect everything even you don't go for platinum. I liked this game and i was between 6 and 7 but i'd feel sad to rate with 6 a game that in the most times i enjoy. So a 7 its the best rating for this game for me.… Expand

    For me personally, I was a gameseller of the console, I had a desire to play for several days in a row, not only is this one of my favorite franchises on ps3, with new technologies it shone to the maximum

I set the brightness to max and still I had to shoot in the darkness and when you use your powers the brightness of the powers will blind you which double sucks, terrible lighting design.

    Leaving that aside, it was a fun game to play. It was not    Whoever designed the lighting in this game, SUCKS ASS.     Leaving that aside, it was a fun game to play. It was not better than the previous ones but it was not lesser either. I loved that you had more powers to choose from, that was a great idea.

    The story was ok, it kinda followed the plot that you have seen many times, so I didn’t get surprised at all in how things turned out, or maybe I’m just too old to get amazed any more...

    The side missions were really simple and repetitive, honestly tree missions that repeat over and over again, why would they do something like that?

    The last battle was dull and kinda boring, I think the previous boss battle was way better.

    I love InFamous games because you get the chance to do what you cannot do in any other video games, that is to get the chance to play as the villain. It’s always lots of fun.    … Expand

    It definitely isn’t one of those games you talk about years after its release, but it showcases PS4’s capabilities well and in contrast to Killzone: Shadow Fall also does something else – guarantees fun from the beginning till the end. [CD-Action 05/2014, p.58]
