I'm afraid I was slightly disappointed in this game. Ultimately, it wasn't something special and didn't feel that next gen. The Bad: limiting gameplay choice (powers) for the two boss fights (I was so annoyed that I was introduced to a half thought out stone power and forced to use it for the last boss fight. Does it make sense to play hours using these interesting powers we enjoyed and invested points in, only to be denied them for the final boss fight? The side missions got repetitive, chase this person, follow this audio signal, blow up that scanner, kill that APC. It was also buggy, every drone got stuck in a light, or on a roof, or on a stair, I fell through floors at the final boss fight numerous times.

Summary- This is an enjoyable game. Yet it bears similarities to games like Saints Row 4, Crack down, and the original infamous. It's nothing original and not much of a wow factor but it's an enjoyable time. Rent it beat it in a week and send it back.

It's an open world game with little replayability.. Yes you can be good or bad and you may want to replay the game as a good character or a bad one but that is not enough for me to go back to it... Good points : the graphics are really good, we have many kinds of "power" to choose, the game is good in general and it uses the new features on the PS4 controller.
Bad points : It felt a little repetitive, I think I enjoyed the previous Infamous more and I also preferred FarCry4 and Wolfenstein a little more.

Second Son takes the inFamous series in a new direction. Don't expect the traditional 3rd-person cover-based shooter from the previous games. Each power you get has it's strengths and weaknesses compared to the others and depending on your karma alignment. Unfortunately, some feel too weak and others feel too strong. It's up to you to find what you like the most. Rest assured though, moving around the city is incredibly fun, not only are the combat powers different, the traversal powers are too. Second Son really blue balls you with the story. It's extremely short, something that has been happening with each subsequent release of the series. The characters are much more interesting and relatable, but you never see enough of them and they see very little development. Side missions are barely tied to the story, an instance barely varies from the rest of each of its type. The karma system stays black and white, it's never been hard to make a decision, you're a good guy, so you should make the good choice. There's no reason to do otherwise. Not much of the story even changes based on your decisions. Karma plays a part in combat, where you must combo actions differently as good or evil in order to earn a special karmic ability. The game feels real and visceral with great audio-visual (and vibration) feedback. The game is beautifully next-gen. Unfortunately it falls short of a lot of my expectations. The innovations are appreciated, but the rest of the game feels worse than it's predecessors. Expand

I played the other two installments ( will get to that coming into play in a bit ) and enjoyed them so i did have high hopes of a larger scope, grander and smarter version in SS but what i got was a marvelous 21 gbs of eye candy, visually impressive and this being said by an avid pc gamer and enthusiast . The partical effects , lighting and brilliant design paired with a solid framerate is glorious but the fantastic visuals cant pawn the flaws within the gameplay, graphics will only please our eyes but the gameplay is what grasps our gaming soul.

The A.I is bad point blank and this is where the game clashes withit self, looks every bit a next gen game but that quickly feels like a mirage and also breaks that momentum set up by the wonderfully set stage aka visuals only to have god aweful actors aka a.i. There are alot of gamers this gen who prioritize how good it looks first and plays second and with the next gen consoles being all about bigger, faster and stronger we expect a certain standard by way of graphic fidelity and framerate but many of us expect smarter games, a larger scale in terms of innovation but so far its been all about what game holds the graphics crown and if you want a contender second son is it.

The gameplay has not changed a bit it may appear so due to some fancy glitter and shine but ultimately the you will be doing the same generic side missions with the same sense of accomplishment and impact in the story = none. I do appreciate the new shards makeover and the added powers which look great but i was so underwhelmed by the repetitive play, lack of variety via enemies who pretty much are all the same except for bosses and late game the lookalike baddies equip super powers but can you see how it can make repetitive a reminder everytime you face the clone a.i's and to add salt to the wound they make the boy scouts look like the sas, same old a.i you fought in the previous and tbh last gen prototype 2 had more advanced a.i.

Moral system is in place for what power loadout you prefer and whether or not killing civilians and street performers is justified and the ssame for subdue or kill an enemy and its also in place to encourage a 2nd playthrough but what it isnt implemented for is the impact via story, sound familiar? Infamous 2.

The story doesnt suck donkey butt it just feels like its there because it has to be, some of the cutscenes are funny and diolgue well written but forgetable.

This is a much prettier, smoother traversing, vamped up power tree, casual version of infamous 2 which isnt a bad thing. The world of second son looks gorgeous and alive while smoke dashing amongst the roof tops but its when you touchdown to ground level is when the same world feels hollow and bland.

I enjoy what im seeing, i love dashing around and launching skywards via the vents.
The sound of my spray paint can comes out of my controller as i shake it before i tag.
The same can be said whenever i draw power from a smoking car or shard, entering his are while the sound exits my controller. This felt fresh and i enjoy this feature but i just wish they didnt stop there.

basically i feel like been there done that with second son but im still having fun just wish there was more depth, smarter a.i and a smarter game overall.

Second son is an achievement visually and i cant praise SP enough for making one of the best looking console games i ever laid eyes on but the game is underwhelming in respect to what i buy and play games for = good exp and in this gen consoles around 4 to 5 hundred with price of games expected to go up well i expect nothing less than a great exp but regardless of gen it seems settling for less while paying premium has become the trend but with gaming politics aside Second Son delivers on 3 fronts: awesome visuals , free roam and open world environment but it also has action packed moments with great destruction .

I dont hate the game i hate the missed opportunity because this couldve been epic but somewhere down the line they lost focus on innovating the gameplay etc and im guessing graphic fidelity took up most oft he space on the drawing board.

My psn is piixelprov1 and i owne this game. Ps tired sorry about the spelling

If you played infamous 1 or 2, you pretty much already played this game. By fat the most significant addition is the ability to change between three different powers throughout the game, a more fleshed-out version of what infamous 2 did with the fire/ice paths. There is also a massive emphasis on mobility, it is very rare that you will actually need to climb a building the old-fashioned way, this time around you can blast from one end of the city to the other without much effort once you get the needed abilities. Combat is almost identical to previous entries, although now there is actually incentive to subduing enemies for anything other than karma (which has always been kind of a pointless system) and trophies. Playing carefully leads to super-attacks, or likewise going on killing-sprees, depending on whether you are good or bad. The greatest disappointment of this game is that bland karma system. There is no middle path, absolutely no incentive to change part-way through the game, and the plotline is essentially the same either way. If they had found a way to elaborate on that and expand it in ways that allow for more nuanced character development and customization and accurately capture the complexities of what being "good" or "bad" means, it would have injected alot more life into this game. The sidequests are pretty boring and feel like chores. Collecting shards-galore to power-up becomes tedious. Melee combat still feels under-explored. They got rid of the cover-system, which would have helped given that Delsin is just as fragile as Cole ever was (although there are some interesting new ways to heal yourself in combat). The characters are so-so, don't really affect much, and feel like pieces of furniture is a gorgeously decorated house. As a demonstration and a glimpse into what the PS4 is capable of, it makes a fine showcase and is easily the best-looking open world game ever made, although you won't know it until you get to the second island. Occasionally the game does find that sweet spot when you are flying around, blasting enemies suspended in the air, blowing up convoys with rockets, smashing groups of enemies to bits with ground-pounds, and summoning small armies of monsters to do your bidding while you are invisible and making your way behind the enemy flank. And when all of that comes together, it is one heck of an experience to be had. It's just unfortunate there are humdrum chore-lists in between and a flimsy plot that doesn't even establish a world that makes sense or is interesting, remember that ending of infamous 2 that left everyone guessing? They glaze over it in a boring DLC side-quest line. They clearly are not trying to compete with Dune here, but a little more effort into the world-building would have gone a long way. Expand

I've been a fan of inFamous since 2009, playing the first two games. After playing this, I felt a little shortchanged. Sucker Punch added some other cool stuff, such as graffiti posters and zone warfare, and the powers are amazingly balanced. However, in other aspects, the game seems to feel overrated. First of all, it took me probably TEN HOURS to beat the game on Normal, and that's adding up time I spent to liberate a couple zones and collect enough blast shards to max everything. The plot's great and the boss battles are intense, but the major characters only appear for maybe 1-3 missions tops (Except for Delsin's brother Reggie), and that kills it for me. It would have been great if there was some way to help the conduits you find in their endeavors, and maybe add some more random encounters. I didn't exactly feel all that heroic after maxing out on Good Karma, as NPC's don't really do a whole lot of different stuff other than make some comments. The AI is NOT EVEN CLOSE to flawless. Enemies sometimes run around acting like idiots, especially in the beginning of the game where they're laughably easy to defeat, and although there are more types of enemies introduced near the halfway point, they still act idiotic at times, running straight at you without firing their guns. I could drone on for a bit of a while about the flaws, but I'll put it this way: after I do a play through on Evil Karma, I don't think I'll ever be picking up the disc and putting it in again, and I'm already having a hard time thinking about playing it even now. Just rent the game for a few days and you'll probably finish both Karmic paths in 15-ish hours. Only my love for the series prevents me from going below the green. Come on Sucker Punch, we need more content for a game like this. Add a little more background for the new guys, more story, and other areas for us to explore. Don't ditch important characters after a couple missions and suddenly throw them in the last mission. Please, if you're gonna make a sequel, add some new radiant stuff and weather effects rather than just cloudy days. I know Seattle isn't exactly Los Angeles, but we have sun out here sometimes, and it would be nice if we had other weather patterns in the game. These are just a few ideas to toss around for the new inFamous. Get the game if you're a fan of the series, but if you're new, just rent the game. Expand

Well, it is good, fun, but not fresh nor rewarding. Is an Infamous experience waiting to be forgotten.
Sucker Punch, firstly, has really pushed the limits of PS4 to boundaries that really makes the future of the console look exciting. I mean the visual quality of this game is astonishing. Seattle has never looked prettier. The textures are crisp, the lightining is just amazing and the way the game's atmosphere develops is just mind-blowing. Just look at the puddles on the street after it rains. It truly is a very detailed experience.
Sucker Punch also learned from PlayStation's sweetheart studio Naughty Dog, and that's why they casted Troy Baker to play a more Nathan Drake-ish hero in Second Son. Delsin, at the beginning, is a complete dirtbag. I guess they tried to make a Nathan Drake with powers but ended up getting a more Dante Sparda vibe. I also didn't give a damn about his brother or any of the particular other characters you meet for split seconds and then vanish until the last mission. His brother is throughout the story though.
The story, from the beginning, I knew where it was going. I know games shouldn't be compared to movies, but nowadays the game industry has really developed its narratives, developing amazing story-driven games like Gone Home, The Last Of Us, Bioshock or The Walking Dead. So yeah, story in Second Son is not so good. The chemistry between the brothers eventually pays off, but really, the narrative is so predictable that what you think will happen to them will eventually happen, no matter what path (Good or Evil) you take.
Now, this game took a lot of criticism about the karmic decisions, described as pretty extreme or not extreme enough. I always thought these were the worst thing about the Infamous games, because they always seemed to favour being bad instead of good. This game has really found a balance, making either of the choices to play equally badass and I found that very satisfying.
Gameplay, meh. It is not revolutionary. In fact, it is a very, VERY easy game and instead of being compared to previous Infamous, the most logical of comparisons would be to tie it up with Saints Row IV. Hell, even the open world structure is very similar to Saint Row's. In other words, the humour, the map, the side missions. It is all very Saints Row-y. And that's the problem with gameplay in Infamous Second Son. It seriously lacks originality.
You still feel like an unstoppable Sylvester Stallone when pulling out those special moves, but they get repetitive quickly, and as you gain more and more powers, difficulty starts being more about overwhelming enemies than strategic gameplay. The enemies are also very repetitive, and the boss battle, while long, is one of the worst boss battles I have ever played in my life.
InFamous Second Son lacks tons of polish. It is not a bad game, by any means, but it is barely good really. The writing is chuckle-worthy, the powers are fun, Delsin Rowe is amiable, so is his brother, but there is nothing that wants me to play it again, unlike the two previous InFamous.

Gorgeous-looking game that pulls out all the stops when it comes to visuals. That being said, the story is only okay and it's shorter than I was hoping it would be. What about Infamous: Second Son?Well here is Infamous: Second Son. Infamous: Second Son is special as it was supposed to be the game that would sell the PS4 similar to how Titanfall was supposed to sell the XBO. These games were hype to hell. Titanfall while fun missed some basic FPS needs, probably brought by the developers inexperiance. If I reviewed it, it would pro...bably get a 7/10. What about Infamous: Second Son? I mean it's developed by Sucker Punch who made the previous installments and the Sly Cooper series, so you think with this, the game would top of the line, right? Unfortunately no. This game is a huge dissapointment. First I have to talk about the story, It is pretty boring. It amounts to: Character gets powers(conduit); Character is attacked by military against powers(D.U.P.) who attack his people(who will die); Character recruits others with powers; Character finds main boss and beats her. Thats it. It's a shame too, because the actual characters are actually interesting. They develop and have outstanding and even dark backstories. With special mention going to Fetch. She's a former junkie whose parents sold her out to the D.U.P, but she is saved by her brother, they seek refuge from drug dealers and become addicts. Her addiction causes her to kill her brother by accident and as vengence she kills drug dealers. That's good stuff, but if the story is bland than good characters can't save it. With that said the Moral system returns, but again it isn't interesting. In the last game your choices have big impacts, here it seems so small a detail. And the endings are barely different, so causes you to wonder if you should play again. Plus being evil actively contradicts the story and of what Delsin(the main character) is trying to accomplish **** up the story as a whole. I swear by the end I was saying wtf? With that said the Graphics are pretty good and the world is detailed though there is a moment where I got shot into a building(you can't go into buildings) and got stuck because of a glitch. Though this is the only one I found in the game. But of course what matters is the gameplay. So, how is it? First returning is the fact that you absorb material to attain empowerment. What I really like are the powers. In previous games the powers, while fun, were also generic. Here the powers are pretty inventive. By the end you will have Smoke, Neon, Concrete and my favorite Video. These can be upgraded by collecting blast shards and what you get adds tons of fun, because you get certain abilities depending on your Karma(whether it be good or evil). With these you can develop your own style of gamplay. There is also stuff to do in order to increase your karma. Spray-painting, freeing people and drug bust increase good karma and killing civillians of any kind increases bad karma. The main goal aside from completing the story is driving the D.U.P. from the city. This is accomplished by beating up D.U.P, destroying their equipment and taking over their zones. Now reviewers will say the combat isn't that good and I disagree. With all the ways to take down enemies it makes battles versitile. However the problem is the enemies themselves. There isn't a huge veriety in the enemies which means there isn't a need to change your strategy much. The Boss fights are a huge Dissapointment. They aren't even the least be creative or fun. What happened to an awesome boss like Kessler? Augustine is a poor replacement. Hell, the most creative "He Who Dwells", is also the most annoying. Fortunately you won't have to worry about enemies for too long as the main storyline is only five hours long. you could do tjhe other Karma and double it but come on that is short for a next-gen sandbox game. With all this I stand by what I think. This game isn't bad, but with all that hype, it's dissapointing. So this game is pretty much like Titanfall and will have a score of 7/10. This game had a lot of good things going for it, but fell short. It needed a better story and enemies to complement the cool powers. I would try it, but only as a rental. Expand

It has the illusion of being an open world; however turns out to be just a big playground for destroying whatever gets in you way and becomes nothing more.

Plus the aiming is old and unefficient and there's no lock on. Those two things together make the game a lot harder than it should be. At one point, whenever i had to fight multiple enemies I had to "dodge" and hide so I could kill one at a time, because there is no efficient way to really dodge or block at all. Not to mention those heavy guys that can easily kill you with like 3 hits, and they are attack sponges so you can't face them head on, either.
Anyways, it's not terrible, but I was happy it didn't took long to finish it, and I'm not going back any time soon.

Talking about the downsides, I would have liked if they put little logic behind the powers we gain during game play. They say its a super-hero game but i think its more supernatural. Story is just ok. Average game length with no replay value But fun game overall, deserves 7.5/10.

Good, but not great. It looks fantastic as you would expect and whilst the game play is similar to the 1st two games, the additional powers certainly mix it up a bit and give you a bit more variety. I thought the gameplay was again, good but not great. The game was pretty short, I completed everything in a week. Definetly worth the price of admission but dont expect anything mind blowing

? I liked the idea of the Paper Trail missions, but they ended up bugging out and not giving me the second waypoint on my map, so I missed them all until after I had beat the campaign and looked up where the objective marker was supposed to be; doing them after the game is done is way less interesting, and the puzzles online a little more tedious than I would've liked
    - The story has some admirable moments, but the overall rules of the world are pretty absurd and taken way less seriously than the game pretends; it tries to be very dramatic about all the scenarios in play, but the actual logical progression of those events is bordering on nonsensical at times

If dev could create 20-30 unique side missions with characteristic citizens sprinkled on the city, the city could be much vivid.

A good thing about the city is its changeable atmosphere during storying going, not automatically. There are rain, fog, sun day, dawn, noon, dusk and night, which are very contrasted one another and immersing.

The story is childish, but telling is smooth. Main missions still can't escape me a feeling of going from one checkpoint to another and doing the similar things agin and again.

Some other things i like are Doodle, climbing on Space Needle and insane power, which will be lift in my mind for a while. But it is so regretting that the city is hardly destroyable, or ranged power could be much much more enjoyable.

My other negative is the Paragon and Renegade options. This isnt a game which allows you to choose both. You have to follow one or the other. While this does gain more replayablity, in the grand scheme of things he renegade option never seem to make any sense.

But still, this game is still heaps of fun, a game you can spend hours with, without even knowing it. It also has the best use of the PS4 controller we have so far seen.

Prototype did this game type well, and gave gamers what they wanted with all the destruction and gore. Infamous could be better. Take off the filters and let the game get crazy. Remove the uninspired copy and paste missions that I eventually had to stop watching and mute after (the 99th graffiti tag) repeating the same thing so many times. Just painful. The AI of the living inhabitants is dreadful; they love you or hate you and they have no lives, it's just all about you. At least the baddies were a small challenge to kill at times.

The developers tried to use the new features of the Dualshock 4 to give the player more immersion, like using the controller as a spray can and using your fingertip to identify yourself at checkpoints. The game is running smoothly and I've noticed only a few framedrops when the action got a little bit too crazy. but nothing to be alarmed by.

In inFamous Second Son you play as Delsin, an unlikable guy who gets superpowers by touching other "conduits" (that's people with superpowers). There are 4 powers to be gained throughout the story, each with some unique abilities. However, these unique abilities are not enough to keep things fresh and you'll soon stick to your favourite power. The game sometimes forces you to use a specific power to proceed, but mostly you can choose which power you want to use. It's is fun to mix things up, but you can't combine powers for different combo's as you'll need to find a power source to change powers.

The story is paperthin and the main character is an unlikable dickhead. The gameplay makes up for a lot, but it does get repetitive. The story isn't that long either and it'll be over before you know it. You can play the game again making different choices, but it doesn't chance the experience that much.

As one of Sony's flagship franchices I expected a bit more. Second Son plays it by the book and delivers a polished game, but it doesn't really do anything new and it doesn't set the bar for years to come. At a price point of $69,99 I wouldn't pick it up a second time. Get it once it's cheaper or wait for it on PlayStation Plus.

Previous main character Cole Macgrath is gone however if, like me you got the limited edition you can a small dlc which is meant to be the bridge for the two games and when you complete it you get his jacket to wear.
Gameplay is a little bit downgraded from infamous 1 and 2 and plays more like FoB. Delsin Rowe unlike Cole can fly around the city and run straight up walls, however this comes later in the game as in this new Infamous game we get 4 powers to play with. Sadly they all feel the same mostly, ya there are differences between them but for the most part they are the same. Oh and the last power concrete you get for the final boss and post-story so you are left with a new toy and nothing to do with it.
Graphically this game is amazing. There are incredible particle effects for each power and the draw distance is great. Honestly Infamous Second Son is probably the best looking game on ps4 as of writing.
And the story is pretty good but a bit predictable, I can't guarantee you will like it but I sure did. And really I think all the people who say the characters are bland and 1 dimensional just glanced at them. They all have good backstories and the facial expressions a great.
But I have one big complaint and that is that the moral choice has next to no effect. It doesn't affect the story much and all you get for maxing out one way is a new jacket to wear. The only thing it determines is a few different missions and what ending you get. And that ending may sound good but it happends on what you pick at the start of the game, so no the morals in this game aren't very good.

The story takes place 7 years after the events of the second game. Things are worse now and a new organization called the DUP lead by villain Brook Augustine capture and imprison all individuals with super powers called conduits labelled as bioterrorist and do experiments on them.

After a truck carrying 3 conduits crashes, two of them escape while the third comes into contact with Delson Rowe, the main character of the game who is a graffiti artist and a Native American. Delson learns that he is also a conduit that can absorb power from other conduits.

His main mission, with the help of his brother who is a police officer is to go to Seattle, to the main headquarters and absorb Augustine’s powers to save the tribe from dying after she used her powers on them.

The world of infamous: Second Son is visually impressive. This time, you will be exploring with new powers. Unlike before, you will get the powers by absorbing what is closest to you. This new system adds to the diversity in the gameplay as you will have to adapt quickly to the changes while battling. Smoke power is gained by absorbing chimneys and flaming fire. Neon Powers from neon signs and video from television. Each power can be upgraded by collecting shards scattered around the map creating even bigger powers which is a lot of fun. The city of Seattle has a lot of small nice details; however, the enemies aren’t varied and sadly, there weren’t enough boss battles.

The main campaign is around 12-13 hours and the side missions get repetitive after a while with little to no difference in the difficulty. The mortality system is back and very straight forward. You can be either good or bad and nothing in between. Even though the morality system plays well with the story, the choices this time around have no real impact. The game would have had a more meaning full connection with the player if the obvious red and blue color were removed and more options were added to create some tensions while choosing, leading to surprises instead of it being clear what you will play as from the very beginning.

I found the characters in this game to be enjoyable especially the main villain, Brooke Augustine who plays brilliantly adding to the overall suspense. Infamous: Second Son is a good game but it could have been better, let’s hope a sequel can fix some issues and let the game reach its true potential. The story wasn’t memorable and the morality system was weak; however, the action and fun gameplay make up for this and creates an overall enjoyable game.

The first time I beat the campaign for the hero trophy, the game was a masterpiece (in my opinion) But the second time I played on expert and did the evil storyline, the major cracks in the game started to show. So without further ado, here we go.

The Good: First let me just get this out of the way, this game is BEAUTIFUL, from the stunning weather effects to the top notch facial animations, everything about this game screams next gen. The actual gameplay makes you feel like a comic book hero, you will be running on walls, throwing bombs of smoke, and flying across the landscape. I really loved most of the characters, and also the amazing soundtrack.

The Bad: As much as I love Troy Baker's performance in this game, I just couldn't like Delsin Rowe, the new protagonist. He seemed annoying and I cringed when he made jokes. The choices are definitely a step down as only the hero story fits the character, being evil feels like some cheap gimmick in an alternate universe, and the AWEFUL ending definitely made all of it worse. The city of Seattle also feels empty and the citizens seem like mindless drones that do nothing but run away when you use your powers. I can say Cole's story was definitely more interesting.

Verdict: Infamous Second Son is a decent game with great graphics and a fun world to mess around in. But the lackluster story and empty world sadly bring this game down. Infamous Second Son is well deserved 7 out of 10 :)

For the most part, the game was good. The game looked really good and the gameplay was very fun with all the different powers. However, the story wasn't anything overly special, but definitely not bad. Also, I didn't really like too many characters. Overall, solid game.

One of the best on the PS4 that isn't some re-release of a game that came out a year before. Second Son doesn't have a golden story or characters, and I personally don't like the completely Black/White morality choices, but goddamn is it a fun game to play. Its more or less a third person shooter without a cover system, but instead relies on traversing rooftop to rooftop to avoid getting totally rekt (which is easy to do), and picking off enemies one at a time with the four original and cool powers that you get over the course of the game. Each of these powers having their pros and cons (the last power comes in too late for it to even be considered useful), but they all have their own style/flair/abilites/core traversal moves, Smoke/Neon being my favorite. The game is also really pretty to look at, even though it may not be the most colorful game ever, its lighting, contrast, and saturation all blend beautifully, and the game never leaves its steady 30 frames. But I like I said before, the story isn't perfect. The voice acting is really well done, and the chemistry between characters is good, but the story is far too simple. It tries to be grandiose in its simplicity, but fails. The story isn't much with different (Good/Evil) moralities besides a few scenes that don't offer much, and sometimes the scenes will be exactly the same. The side objectives really aren't that great either. There a few cool (though overly simplistic) ones such as spray painting graffiti with the PS4 Controller Touch Pad which was a nice break from the combat, but most are hunting some guy down in a crowd, or finding an audio log and cameras which are all too simple. But of course, the combat is really the big star of show anyway, and for me, anyway, it was really fun. Overall I do recommend buying on sale. $30-$40 is a good price for a 15-20 hour game. Expand

I got to say this is a good game and it is definitely worth the money, but the word is good, not great. This instalment of the series has a much more realistic-like setting which I personally like less that the original settings. I also found the game short (I mean the main story) in comparison with the other two games. Other than that, the game play and everything else is quite similar to the previous infamous games in a good way. The story of this game is worst compared to the previous titles. In fact, it is very ordinary, short and nothing really in the whole campaign felt as unique and everything is predictable. It just shows the aftermath of Cole's actions from Infamous 2 and revolves around the discrimination felt by the surviving "bioterrorist" in the world. As to the characters, All in all, It is BAD, Delsin is not that interesting and has a lot of corny and annoying jokes, his evil persona is so out of place and a try-hard to be "evil" while it is very obvious that his good path is his true personality. As a conclusion, he is not a good new protagonist to change Cole. The supporting cast however are much more interesting esp that guy who likes videogames (avoiding spoilers). Ill give this aspect a score of 6/10.

Gameplay - The positives, the gameplay is so smooth and has little to no bugs or glitch whatsoever. Delsin has not only one but FOUR different powers in the game which is divisive and useful in many and different situations and battles in the game. The negative side however is the small number of skills and scope of Delsins power in the game. Every power has their own version of R1 and L1s and glide and dashes and nothing really distinguishes a power from another power other than how they look. Its should have been better if they just made more skills available for us. An okay score of 8 to me.

Graphics - Now this is the part where this game lives up to the hype. The game is SOOOO GORGEOUS AND SO SMOOTH. One of the best graphics of the game in the year it was released. No graphical issues, lags or frame rate drops are occuring anywhere despite a lot of explosions appearing on screen. The facial expression of every character from the movement of their eyes to their movement of their lips and cheeks are all detailed and almost realistic. The motion acting of every character is smooth and the cutscenes are like watching a film. A score of 10/10 deserves such effort by Insomniac Games.

Soundtrack and Sound - Voice acting is top notched. You have Troy Baker who tbh, the only reason why Delsin is not a failure of a protagonist. The guy's voice acting is awesome. Every actor and actresses in the game really put their best in order to put life to every character they did and I LOVE IT. As to the soundtrack however, personally, I never really liked the punk style hardcore music, Its not really my thing and it didnt really fit to the storyline the game wants you to feel. A score of 6 for this.

    Total Average = 7.5

This is a game which continues one of the better series from Playstation's exclusives and this game is the worst of the 3 games in its series. The protagonist is weak, overall cast are weak also, the story is average, the powers are many but nothing really was interesting and the overall campaign felt normal and nothing really memorable happened. All in all, despite the great graphics and smooth gameplay, every other thing felt ordinary if not dissapointing. Dont get me wrong, if it is a stand alone game or a new ip it would be better but it being a successor to its succesful predecessors would also be the reason of its criticism. That is all. Thank you.

Story - The game continues from the aftermath of Infamous 2's good ending and tells the new protagonist Delsin Rowe's story which is a conduit whose powers can absorb the powers of other conduits. The story centers on Delsin's battle against the DUP, a group who swore to capture all conduits in the world lead by a sadistic but powerful conduit Augustine. It covers also the life of conduits after infamous 2 and the discrimination and hate that they encounter. IMO, i am not impressed with the story, it is very cliche, short and also predictable, and this are from the makers of infamous 1 and 2 which has great storyline. In addtion, the protagonist is weak, his good path is his obvious personality while his bad path is ridiculous and out of place. Despite that the supporting characters on the other hand are great esp Eugene and Fetch, other conduits who will help Delsin in his fight againts the DUP. The same weakness goes to the antagonist which is pretty cliche at start but was rather interesting at the end. Overall though, it is dissapointing and a siginificant letdown for me wirh regard the storyline. A poor score of 4/10

Gameplay - I can say that this aspect of the game is till maintained and it is awesome! The way the powers is used, the smooth controls and how you have different powers at your disposal unlike the previous two in the sequel in which you can only use lightning, in here, you can use 4 different powers and skills which is great. My main problem in the game though is its missions, it is short and was kinda repetitive as a whole, cause all you do is go to point A fight, then go to point B, then fight, the open world, you can only cover the area by taking over DUP bases and getting collectibles. The only miscellaneous quest i really liked is the wall painting mini game which is entertaining. Overall, a good score of 8/10 will do.

Graphics - Now we are talking, Sucker Punck really showed in this game how powerful and how promising next gen games will look. It is very pretty and there are ZERO frame drops or screen tearing occuring ingame despite the many explosions and effects coming out in the screen. My issue however is the environment, realistically it is good and beautiful but it is very short and you cant really go to places which are interesting despite its great view, in addition, i was somewhat neutral to the punk character design of the characters but i didnt like Delsin's image in both the good and bad path, glad that you can change his jacket ingame. Overall, it deserves a great score of 9/10

Music and Sound - The soundtack of this game is a mix of punk and rock music, and i can see why based on the main characters. Though imo, with the storyline they want you to see, i dont think it matches it. As to the sound and voice acting though, it is top notched with troy baker being the lifesaver of the protagonist with his good voice acting and motion capture. A fair score of 7/10.

    Average score = 7.00

If this game was released as a new IP or new title then i would be giving it a better score. But considering that is a sequel (or spinoff) then there is no question why it will be compared to its previous game in the series. It is inferior and despite the good gameplay and good graphics, i never really felt connected nor fell in love with its characters nor are they that memorable. Regardless,it its still one of the better exclusives of PS4 and suckerpunch being one of the better developers of them also hope to make more and better games in the future, Kudos to them! Thanks

Well, at the first glance of the graphics made by suckerpunch, the art style is very careful with animations and details of the textures that draws attention during its time of launch and stay pleasant, although there are some bugs in the execution, as well as in the jump of the characters .

Soundtrack is far from being marked as the open world of the game that tries to bring innovators quests but that are repeated a lot and are boring, the studio also fails to try to set seattle in the game being the unattractive and charismatic city looking like just another generic video game map.
The game narrative with its ups and downs, the main group of characters are charismatic, but is very little explored during a game campaign, sees very little development, making some moments more difficult to make a big impact on the plot.

In a sustainable way, the story is good and has good characters but everything seems very and empty, this takes the Karma system already present in other games in the franchise or the system was expanded taking into account small choices in its gameplay or that it is very interesting, but big choices are not very interesting representing almost no dilemma.

In the end what makes the experience of the infamous second son really interesting is its gameplay with a wide variety of skills and powers allows you to play as you prefer to have the most fun with a great combination of activities and strokes available in the game, infamous is not a marked game, but it has its qualities being an interesting distraction if you buy a good price.

Having played Infamous: Second Son for the first time in 2014, this was my first game on the PS4. After 6 years i returned to finally complete it on Hard, and here's my review of the game.

Infamous: Second Son feels more like a spin-off to Infamous 1 & 2 than like a sequel. The main character is a loser that takes no responsibility for his actions (whether you gain Good or Bad Karma doesn't matter). Delsin Rowe gets himself and others in danger repeatedly, and only thinks short term. He's the definition of a Millennial. Unfortunately, neither the villains or "Good guys" in this game have much of a brain, well except for Reggie.

The previous games choose to have a cartoonish look to them, trading in realistic graphics for art style. With this entry it is mostly gone in favour of more realistic graphics. At times it looks beautiful, but i don't see the point. Shadow and black in this game is so dark that it will block your view, followed by flashing you with very bright light. It's rather uncomfortable. Without the art style from the previous games it is also harder to see what's happening on screen, and it feels more tame. What happened to the colour full monsters?

But gameplay wise, Infamous Second Son does entertain. The better you get, the more you will use elevation, environmental objects and different powers. At Hard it feels like enemies are spamming you a bit too much, but it is manageable. The climbing system feels rather broken though. Delsin jumps on objects very inaccurate, and usually doesn't grab ledges that are right under his nose. Once you get Neon you won't have to climb anymore thankfully.

I do hope that some studio returns to the Infamous franchise someday, but rather from an angle AGAINST the conduits. I would like to see more DUP soldiers that have genuine motivations to hunt the conduits, even if they might be conduits themselves.

A fun game, but a bit of a tame and dumb game as well. It is a good game overall, and i give it a 7/10.

Althought not as good as it's series' predecessors, Second Son feels like a refreshing side-story in the same world. The new protagonist isn't as good as Cole, but he still manages to be an adequate leading man for the story. The variety of new powers is fun and allows you to mix and match. Overall not a stand-out experience but a good sequel that serves to continue the Infamous story.

Leaving that aside, it was a fun game to play. It was not better than the previous ones but it was not lesser either. I loved that you had more powers to choose from, that was a great idea.

The story was ok, it kinda followed the plot that you have seen many times, so I didn’t get surprised at all in how things turned out, or maybe I’m just too old to get amazed any more...

The side missions were really simple and repetitive, honestly tree missions that repeat over and over again, why would they do something like that?

The last battle was dull and kinda boring, I think the previous boss battle was way better.

I love InFamous games because you get the chance to do what you cannot do in any other video games, that is to get the chance to play as the villain. It’s always lots of fun.

Sometimes i really enjoyed the plot and the character but some other times i really got bored (and its a very short game so just imagine) and i feel like this game have many cliche. Overall its a good game cause you can use many super powers and its open to you to choose if you wanna be good or evil. Also the collectibles are super easy and they're not drop them in the game. They have their story and you'll want to collect everything even you don't go for platinum. I liked this game and i was between 6 and 7 but i'd feel sad to rate with 6 a game that in the most times i enjoy. So a 7 its the best rating for this game for me. Expand

A decent superhero game but the story lacks interest. The bosses were pathetic and the rest of the enemies can be easily defeated with some button smashing. The level design was cool and all, but it didn't really hook me in. Bought, played, sold, and never again.

Пока что я бы сказал, игра на любителя. Expand

Beautiful graphics, great characters and love the less serious tone the game has. Its also cool that Delsin has more than one power which gives the gameplay a bit more variety. The game also has a very cool art style which is my favorite in the franchise. Unfortunately The length of the story is the same as a call of duty campaign and the story itself isn't great. I also felt like the game was a little repetitive and Delsin feels like he was made to be a hero unlike Cole Magrath (who was the previous games protagonist) was made to be both hero and villain depending on the players choice. I wish we also had actual side missions in the game. In general its a pretty good game but not worth full price. Expand

Expand

The game is ok, but not particulary fun. The gameplay is fun at first but you get bored after a few hours. The graphics are ok but the story is average.

    Fantastic voice acting and visuals.
Gameplay is smooth and combat evolves at a nice pace.
Story is pretty thin and ultimately its weak point. The good vs evil story progression is nice, but mostly falls flat, particular when playing on evil karma.
The game is incredibly easy to beat on the hardest difficulty, and appears to be much easier playing as evil vs good.

A game whose story and gameplay are above mediocre. It made me spend pleasant hours, but it certainly is not in the standard of other PS exclusive games.

This game is enjoyable; it's pretty and has a solid story and characters to boot. The sound quality with the abilities is good but there aren't many good music tracks to enhance the experience. On balance, Second Son is a fun game.

Fun game that showed what the PS4 can do. The story is underwhelming, and I wish that the combat had a little more variety. A decent game but far from the best the PS4 has to offer.

I'm just writing at least 150 characters because I wanted to save this review in a more convenient way to look back at scores that I had given stuff as a user.

Очень часто моменты когда не понятно, что происходит. Интересные битвы с босами и открытый мир

Good game for early generation has great graphics and good gameplay. The story is cool but superficial the characters are well built. The game plays a lot in the repetition.

A blast of a game, with fantastic gameplay and world/level design. Whilst the binary choice system has always felt a little limiting and this game doesn't really break that trend, the gameplay implications of your story decision are just as great if not better than the other mainline Infamous games.

Prototype was 1000 times better. The character's movements seem a little too artificial. The story does not seem to me anything special. A little below my expectations.

First infamous that I play, I play more or less entertaining, a little short for my taste.

A lot of NPCs and cars are repeated in the city even so today graphically it looks very good

Playing this for the first time, using a ps5. It's an OK game. Controls feel kind of floaty, and the lighting makes it hard to see. The powers are kind of underwhelming and odd (smoke, neon, video?).

As a game that is basically free these days, it may be worth a few hours dabbling, but I quickly grew tired of it after probably 10-15 hours, and am probably not going back

The gameplay and story of the game could be much better than this.
However, the songs of this game are really soothing and there is a good feeling of calmness in the songs (and if the rainy weather and you walk in the city and listen to the songs of the game, the calmness of the songs will increase) Apart from the songs, the game's graphics are also very natural (especially for 2014,

In general, I give this score only for songs and graphics.

It definitely isn’t one of those games you talk about years after its release, but it showcases PS4’s capabilities well and in contrast to Killzone: Shadow Fall also does something else – guarantees fun from the beginning till the end. [CD-Action 05/2014, p.58]
