Despite all negative reviews I must say that I thought this game was very entertaining, perfect for a room full of people, and the perks that you gain during gameplay such as apache helicopter support and air drops make it pure action and explosions. Its not perfect but its not the far from the worst.

    Heavy Fire: Red Shadow
Just when you think the heavy fire series cant get worse, it does
Its no secret im not a fan of the heavy fire games.. but its just one of those series that I want to play through and just laugh at how bad it is… Sadly theres no laughing here.. theres no story here aside from some voice over in the background before a level loads.. theres no real campaign.. theres

Sadly theres no laughing here.. theres no story here aside from some voice over in the background before a level loads.. theres no real campaign.. theres basically nothing here…
Red Shadow goes against what shattered spear and Afghanistan were… no longer is it a frustrating but ridiculous on rails shooter..
its dull, lifeless, and boring endless wave game were you control a machine gun with rockets… youre stationary… you cant move… you just go back and forth shooting aves of enemies… this is the entire game….
you kill enemies. .gain xp to buff up your skills and perks… fill up a meter to call in support…
it just becomes unbearable after a while..
at first things are challenging.. but by time I unlocked infinite ammo.. they challenge was gone… the game just felt like busy work and I was done..
the game does add new enemies as it goes on… but its not enough to make the game fun.. its not enough to pull you through..
the game is so lazy that there are only really 4 maps.. but it forces you to play the day and night version of each until you move on to a new one…
just stay away from this game.
I give Heavy Fire: Red Shadow
    a 1/10

Mastiff’s attempt at designing an interesting and engaging rail shooter falls flat on PSVR. It could be different elsewhere, especially in VR, but as a regular ‘ol console shooter it is one of the most uninspired this generation. There is a little fun to be had, but only a little, and it fails to grab you every step of the way through the entirety of its missions.

A poor shooting game (VR compatible) set in a war between North Korea and United States. Sadly, it feels like an old arcade, repetitive and short.

There's a certain audience that'll find Heavy Fire: Red Shadow to be a decent game. For those people, the turret sequences in other shooters must be their favorite part of the game. For everyone else, including fans of the series, Red Shadow is an utter disappointment. From a regression in gameplay to overly long stages and terrible presentation, there's nothing to recommend here, even if you just want to Trophy hunt. Unless you absolutely need to have every game in the console's library, stay as far away from this as possible.

In the end, Heavy Fire: Red Shadow definitely harkens back to a time period where point/shoot had a different meaning in an arcade experience than it does now. The game maintains a nostalgic design, which certainly makes sense for the experience, but the experience’s longevity will be questioned depending on player expectations. This goes back to what you understand about a game’s intentions. If you know going into it that you’re going to get an arcade shooter, then you may not be disappointed. If you’re expecting a deeper experience than just point/shoot, then you may not find it here.
