    Hard to fault this version of the game really. Loads of songs, crisp HD visuals, very colourful, nice clear presentation, intuitive user friendly interface. Yes everything you could want from a Hatsune Miku game and lots of unlockable costumes and items to keep you playing for a long time. Couple this with the games hi score system and you've got a very simplistic pick up and play arcadeHard to fault this version of the game really. Loads of songs, crisp HD visuals, very colourful, nice clear presentation, intuitive user friendly interface. Yes everything you could want from a Hatsune Miku game and lots of unlockable costumes and items to keep you playing for a long time. Couple this with the games hi score system and you've got a very simplistic pick up and play arcade rhymth game with basically endless replayability.

    This being an arcade game though I did notice some problems with the controls on the higher difficulty settings when you have to hold notes for bonus points. It's clearly apparent this is more awkward on a small pad than with arcade controls.

    The trophy collection is also disappointing with just twenty trophies and no platinum. That being said I no problem with recommending this game although I'm still undecided wether or not I prefer this to Project Mirai DX on the 3DS, which is also very good but for different reasons.    … Expand

    The song list seems overwhelming and not as well-picked as in the PS3 games. It's like they threw every possible song in the game and counted on players to find their favorites among the many songs. I preferred the PS3 games as they felt like "Best of"-compilations with interesting visuals.     Crisp Graphics and Smooth 60 Frames per Second. The Game Includes Two Music Packs Which are Colorful Tone or Future Tone, however, each of them have 100+ songs.
    The gameplay is not that different from previous Project Diva Titles, but it is harder thanks to the "slides" and "Multis". It's a good game, no doubt.

    Is this the greatest rhythm game ever made? Probably. No seriously. When I bought this game originally I had no idea who Hatsune Miku was. I have since become a fan. The game play is quite nice for a rhythm game and as you play, you earn currency which you can then use to buy more costumes and accessories for the various characters. Oh, there's like around 400 different modules to buy (TheIs this the greatest rhythm game ever made? Probably. No seriously. When I bought this game originally I had no idea who Hatsune Miku was. I have since become a fan. The game play is quite nice for a rhythm game and as you play, you earn currency which you can then use to buy more costumes and accessories for the various characters. Oh, there's like around 400 different modules to buy (The game calls costumes 'modules'). You can buy a DLC key to unlock all the costumes instantly, however I would strongly advise against that as half the fun is earning the currency and buying the modules yourself. I have played tons and I still haven't unlocked everything, Seriously, you can unlock all the modules for free just by playing.
    Song selection. How about over 250 songs! Is that enough? Yes, you will have to buy the songs in DLC although you get 2 free songs in the free demo version of the game. Luckily the songs are purchased in large bundles, not individually. There are 2 main DLC bundles that are must buys that will contain a vast majority of the 250 songs.
    There are standard difficulty settings ranging from too easy all the way up to nearly impossible. I mostly play on normal or hard as the higher settings are too crazy for me to do, lol. The game play is very pleasant and responsive though it takes a little getting used to as its somewhat different from how most rhythm games work. However, the game plays very well and the scoring system will keep you coming back to try to beat your high score.
    Each song has its own custom made video that goes along with the song. Each video is unique and plays in the background as you play the game. The cool part is you can choose whatever module you want for each song and that module is fully used in the music video that plays! Very nice!
    The really cool part though, is when you just want to listen to some Hatsune Miku songs and while watching the videos, you can do that too. You can create a custom play list and just watch all your favorite videos back to back without having to actually play the game, which is nice if you just want to enjoy some great music.
    Also, the module you pick for the character is fully integrated into the video seamlessly whether playing the game or just watching the music videos in the view mode.
    Of course, the music will be hit and miss, even for fans. Everyone has their own favorites.
    My only issue with the game are the subtitles. Yes, you can have them or remove them in either play or watch mode, but these not English subtitles. They are the Japanese lyrics written in Roman letters, I guess so you can sing along sorta, if you don't speak Japanese. I would have preferred an option for English subtitles so I didn't have to look up the lyrics online for my favorite songs.
    When I'm too tired to play the actual game, I greatly enjoy watching my custom video play list featuring the modules I choose.    … Expand

    Future Tone is a Rhythm Game which provides one of the biggest musical compilations of all time. This new episode of the Hatsune Miku series is a great chance to approach J-Pop culture.

    In the end, while we in the Western world have been blessed with a few Hatsune Miku games in the past, nothing comes close to what Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone offers. Its arcade roots might mean the highest difficulties are some of the hardest songs the series has introduced on console due to not having an identical controller to the arcade, but there is no denying that this is the Hatsune Miku game to own above all other titles available, while at the same time being an amazing value proposition.
