    Strong Mega Turrican vibes. Secrets everywhere. Lots of power ups. Good old fashioned platform shooting.

    This update of a Neo Geo shooter is in the tradition of Turrican. It has a nice variety of levels, beautiful pixel art and a terrific retro soundtrack. There are plenty of weapons, secrets and bosses everywhere. In terms of visual options, you can add scanlines, borders and adjust the picture size.     A colourful and unashamed "homage" to Turrican that actually fixes a couple of my issues with the original game; the lack of a timer leaves you free to explore the sprawling levels unhampered and the multiple weapons system maps onto modern controllers far better than the 3-button Megadrive pad. Original it is not, but enjoyable it is.
