Jul 9, 2016This game spoilt my weekend - don't let it spoil yours! .............................................................................................

Feb 29, 2016I want my money back. This is just a walking simulator. Based on the price they charge, it's a scam. There is literally no content for this game. You just walk around and click on stuff until you get bored.

Jul 10, 2016This "game" is garbage. Do yourself a favor and spend an equal of zero dollars on it. It literally, and I mean this literally, takes 20 minutes to finish, and only reason it doesn't take 10 minutes is that the character walks so damn slow....
Just... sigh... Horrible. -

Aug 4, 2016Sooo fun was to check the developers commentary. It's like someone cooked a bread, and you eat that bread, and he begin to tell you at what market he bought the flour, who gives the bill, what he was wearing, the sun was shining, the music was electric, he eat at breakfast eggs, served on a blue plate with a scrath...
and so on
story is crap, gameplay is none, commentaries are genious -
Mar 27, 2016How did this game get such high scores is beyond me for I saw nothing of value in this one hour walking simulator. There is no replay value either and the gameplay pretty much revolves around you looking at things and hearing background narration. Lame.

Mar 9, 2016Total waste of money. Nothing but a walking simulator. Just walk around and click on stuff until you get tired and ask for your money back. Not worth it at any cost. If the game was free, it would cost too much. They should have a refund button on the main menu.
-
Mar 15, 2016There's no way this game is worth money. It's just a walking simulator. Do not pay money for this game. There's no gameplay, no action, no entertainment value at all. Just boring boredom.

Apr 10, 2016Less than one hour of "game play". Well there's actually no game play, but it's less than an hour until you get to the end of this walking simulator. Look, they just want your money to spend on patreon.
-
Apr 11, 2016This isn't actually a game. It's more like a visual novel. You walk around and find things to read. That's it. No gameplay, no mobs, no weapons, no score, nothing.

Jun 9, 2016Do you enjoy linear games? Do you like plots with little to no climax? Do you like WALKING through an empty house with 0 ability to run while listening to your lesbian sister's voice inside your head after picking up certain notes? No! Me neither.

Jun 10, 2016Terrible story mixed with a dull atmosphere, if you hate Young Adult fiction and all it stands for then you will likely hate this. The writing is insipid, the gameplay non-existent; flash games are far better and more immersive, and the price is a joke. Avoid at all costs, the hype around it is very artificial and 'art' it is not.

Jul 27, 2017Why do critics like this game? It shows the divide between people who play games and people who review them. Gamers want gameplay, reviewers want pandering to their politics.

Jun 22, 2016This game is **** I must say. HATE IT, REGRET PLAYING IT, AND IT'S WASTE OF TIME. I hate the puzzles in it there are no fun and the story is boring and **** i bet everyone who played it said the same thing so don't judge. but the graphics are cool.

Jun 26, 2016Considering you are lucky to find the game evidences and follow the story following the correct time line and you actually enjoy reading irrelevant texts, than that is your game. Otherwise, just not.

Aug 25, 2016Probably the most boring "game" i have ever played. Reading boring notes, with a boring story in a boring house. Yay. Wouldn't have wished this "game" on my worst enemy. I even created an account just to put another warning out there of how bad this walking simulator is.
-
Jan 9, 2017Wow the only reason this "game" gets any good reviews is because it is a Lesbian Love story. It is not a game, it is awful. Super boring, just clicking on things. Talk about Bias in the "Mainstream" media. 000

Aug 10, 2017Yet another useless PS Plus freebie I downloaded to see what the hype was about. I am so disappointed at all the clearly false positive reviews. Especially since Slender was a better walking simulator compared to this.

Apr 21, 2016Gone home is a beautiful story told with talent. The total immersion and storytelling brings a sense of renewal in the world of video games. Unfortunately, its lifespan is too short: two hours are enough to see the end. This console port is, by the way, excellent.

Apr 9, 2016It’s a shame that Gone Home is a bit of a non-starter. It has a lot of potential; the game is genuinely captivating whilst you’re playing it – it’s just unfortunate that it leaves you so disappointed once you’ve reached its conclusion. The human story it tries to tell is relatable, but it’s a story that’s so ordinary it’s barely even worth telling. By all means, play Gone Home for the exploration; for the 90’s nostalgia and for its down-to-Earth quirks, but don’t go into it expecting anything mindblowing. Expect a grounded story about a typical family and you won’t be disappointed, but anything else will leave you feeling rather underwhelmed.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaMar 31, 2016Don’t look at its brevity with a frown: Gone Home is a hugely important game with something meaningful to say. [April 2016, p74]
