Hey all, it's your friendly neighborhood PS4 guy. This time I have something nature grown for everyone.
Do you like nature? How about insects? Do these things make you think of a twin-stick shooter? Cause that's what we have here.
Flutter bombs is a twin-stick shooter that is based on nature and butterflies. The first thing you will notice is the lush scenic environments throughout this basic adventure. Though the game does not have much in the way of story or variety it is a tight twin-stick shooter. With 10 butterflies in all each with there own special bomb and attack style to mix up the play style here and there. This does offer co-op options as well harkening back to the days of old with an arcade feel, which fits with the price tag at about a dollar a level. The game is about as straight forward as they come with responsive controls once you get used to them. The other unique facet of the game is it's enclosed levels adding a bit of strategy to how you move about. The sense of momentum is real and even does invoke the feeling of a butterfly, one on a mission you could say. The game is a bit short but has value in it and some replay if you're a fan of the genre.
Pros:
Is, in fact, a twin-stick shooter
Beautiful graphics on a budget
Great level aesthetic
Has a variety of modes
Cons:
Is kind of basic and appeals mainly to hardcore fans of the genre
Lack of options for settings
Could use some more work on the BGM
With this all said I give this game a final rating of:
