EDIT: I have now played the game about 12 hours more and some things have changes my opinion about this game. The developers have made a lot of fixes for known issues - which is why I want to make an updated review. Still a lot of times you’re doing boring stuff, this is no game if you want “action”, but after a couple of hours you come into sort of a trance doing all the repetitive moments in the game. Hence I changed the score from 0 to 5.

The Boring simulator I’ve been fishing all my life and some part of this game is very realistic. Sadly it’s the most boring part of fishing: the long waiting, reeling in a bouy in the ocean and speed limits in harbor areas (easily resulting in fines). I was promised majestic views but this game I one of the ugliest I have seen. The graphics and the physics behind the gaming mechanics is late 90’s, early 20’s. The fishes looks the same, have about the same weight and behave the same, although the game progression rewards you by giving you the choice to buy upgrades with 4%, 8%, 12% bigger fishes. I something the game is hard, but most time it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.

Fishing: North Atlantic can be fun and a nice change of scenery, but the AI's shortcomings and the lack of information makes it less pleasant than it could be.
