    Pros:

    Extremely immersive
    Aim support

    Cons:
    some annoying bugs
Games are one round instead of best of 3
Matchmaking with a party of any size can split your group up (known bug)
VOIP drops out sometimes (known bug)

In short if you own or are thinking about getting a PSVR this game will keep you busy for the months and maybe even years (depending on post launch support) ahead.

This is a very good start for online VR! I think they need to fix a few things like add calibration for ppl who are having issues and add more game types and rounds in. There is some easy work to do for them but they have a done a fantastic start to something that I'm very excited to be apart of

Amazing game, a defining moment for VR. The control scheme is intuitive, the experience is unmatched. A few easy to resolve niggles - 3 round matches need to be patched in, host migration is needed and the offset on the aim should be made optional or adjustable. If you don't buy this game you are missing something truly brilliant!

For those people hating on everything PSVR and this game, give it a chance and appreciate what First Contact Entertainment has built for the PSVR community. Until you actually put yourself into the VR headset, you'll never know how great it really is. For those of us who love it for what it is, lets continue to reach out to developers, spread the word on FWZH and other great games out there like Farpoint, RE7, Star Trek Bridge Crew and many others. Playing video games since the early 1970's, and this is without question one of the most engaging and fun games I have ever played, on any system. I would go so far as to suggest that if you are a fan of FPS, particularly those that encourage teamwork, this is worth a PSVR+AIM purchase - maybe even a PS4 Pro. Yes, it is that good. And I am not particularly a fan of this genre!

Having said that, there are some issues (matchmaking is spotty, glitches in the item purchase menus) but focusing on these is really a non-issue at this point, as the overall experience itself is simply sublime.

    UPDATE:
So after a couple of weeks, I am lowering my score. The "sublime experience" I reported has become more a nightmarish one. Constant host disconnections before, during, and after matches have really soured the experience. This in addition to the game crashing (blue screening) and having random menu glitches. For a given hour of time spent trying to play the game, I have been lucky to get 5-10 minutes of actual gameplay, no exaggeration. The netcode supporting the online experience, vital for an online only game, is completely unfit for purpose. Here is a template for the kind of experiences you may have based on my own excessive play over a couple of weeks (I am ranked in top 200 worldwide, if that means anything to you):

    1. The use of Peer-to-Peer networking means that should the current game host decide to quit, for any reason, everyone is booted to the game menu screen. This also usually, but not always, screws up your ability to smoothly reconnect to a new host. You might join a game with 7 of 8 players, and the game disconnects before the final player has been selected, and then try 2-3 times to reconnect. That might be a good 15 minutes of staring at loading/blank screens (in VR no less). Sound exciting?

    2. When you finally get matched and a game actually starts, the voice chat is probably now glitched due to the aforementioned connection/disconnection issues, which means there is no team communication. Not good for a game than absolutely requires effective communication in order for your team to have a good chance at victory.

    3. The game then might end with your team winning (a fast game is over in less than 1 minute BTW), but before the victory/point scoring screen is reached, one or more players on the other side have rage quit and everyone is booted - no soup for you (or anyone else).

    4. Goto 1.

If you are lucky and have a stable host, you might get several hours of thrilling fun. But when you rejoin later you might then get a host who is AFK for days at a time, who cannot be kicked or booted, and you keep getting matched to join their game. Over and over. Thrills-a-plenty.

As an aside, another incredibly annoying thing about the game is the broken item/gear/character edit system. Some glitchy, buggy code there for sure. For example, in the first couple of days playing I was able to inadvertently select locked items due to overflow bugs, and this does not bode well for developers wanting to introduce paid DLC at some point. Not confidence inspiring in the least.

So, lesson for me - never give a review of a game, no matter how fantastic it seems, until perhaps a week or two later. Particularly an on-line only game. I wonder if many other reviewers/users feel the same now. To be fair, the game WHEN IT WORKS is absolutely thrilling. But, really let down by the bad design and poor code implementation. More worrying is that the developers have apparently given a cursory response to an overblown game balance issue many players were complaining about, but have said nothing about the more serious issues (i.e., the matchmaking, hosting, connectivity problems). I would still recommend the game, but be warned - there is considerable frustration to be had, made worse by the fact that the game (when it works) is fantastic.

    UPDATE 2:
So, following a small patch (that fixed the exploits to various contractor skills and weapon skins, and rectified some of the matchmaking issues) I am upgrading my rating. There are still issues, but the overall experience is great. No way is this a 10 beyond the initial thrill, but it certainly is one of the most compelling PSVR games. A definite must buy.

The gameplay itself is what sets this game apart. Like Rainbow Sic Siege, you choose an operator and take out the bad guys. Like any other online game, the community is who you're primarily up against. While we don't currently know what the size of the community is, it is far friendlier and more team oriented than the likes of Battlefield or COD. Pop into a lobby and you're usually met with at least 2 out of 3 teammates that are utilizing the PSVR's built in microphone to actually communicate, strategize, and ultimately have fun. So far in the roughly 25-30 hours I have into the online play, I've only encountered 2 people that were being trolls. Now obviously this experience may vary, but from everyone I've talked to, the online community for this game seems incredibly kind and devoted.
This game would easily be a 10 for me if it weren't for the peer to peer matchmaking, squading issues, and in game voice chat cutting out during loading screens (or at least an easier way to access your squad mates profiles for partying up in an outside party chat). But those are very minor gripes compared to the incredible amount of fun to be had here. Find a squad of players that all talk and communicate effectively, and you can usually stay in the same lobby for hours with very few people dropping in or out. The experience delivered here is top notch, and hopefully as soon as First Contact gets the minor issues sorted out and perhaps some dedicated servers- we could potentially have a true juggernaut on our hands. Only time will tell if a large enough community forms to keep the online experience going for the foreseeable future, but if enough people take a chance on it, it'll be an awful lot of fun for all of us PSVR fps fans for quite some time to come.

I registered for an account just to create this review. This is the best VR title I have played so far. It is masterfully crafted.

The Good: It is tactical shooting at its finest. The gun play is excellent as is the team work required to win games. The progression system has alot of variety, it is a little grindy but definitely rewarding. Tracking is decent when correctly setup.

Community is very mature and friendly (I'm assuming the additional VR price tag has removed the kids).

    The Bad:
Long wait times between rounds. Can occasionally be waiting longer than expected for players to join but doesn't happen that often, maybe 1/10 games you'll wait 5 minutes for someone else to join. I have been disconnected mid match about 5 times in 10 hours of play so this needs to be addressed. A few other glitches like XP disappeared and coming back aswell as credits doing the same, all easily fixed in an update.

A great title and one that will help sell the VR to reach more players, well done First Contact.

The best tactical multiplayer shooter for VR today. It has the quality of counter strike, so this could also be a candidate for E-Sport tournaments. What is great: It is a "can't stop playing" type, challenging, good graphics, huge and detailed maps . One great innovation is the ability to keep playing even after you die - you are able to look at the room's cameras and give voice guidance to your team warning them where the enemies are, best route to go, etc.

What is not great: No campaign mode (only some training sessions), always the same firewall story (objective) that never changes, more time spent at the lobby than gameplays, server connection issues (hope it gets fixed). Also, if you are unable to speak in English, you are in disadvantage as voice communication is one of the best and most important features, not that you won't be able to play and win. The worst thing is that one day the game will likely die after it gets old and nobody plays online anymore. Single player is not worth it at all.

Firstly, the negative. There are some tracking issues beyond what seems to be attributable to camera placement and lighting. However I have found that this can mostly be overcome with the correct set up and then the odd power-cycle of the aim controller. Whether this is the game or just the PSVR setup in general I am unsure. Perseverance plays a big part here. I have mostly overcome this now and with the odd-power cycle, it's not that much of a deal breaker really.

No Host migration. If the host player leaves (particularly mid-game) it can be a bit frustrating as the entire game is "destroyed" and everyone is chucked out to the main menu, even disbanding your squad. The rounds are short. It would be nicer if there were fewer lobbies and maybe a best of three round system.

Now for the positive. I LOVE this game, despite the above, and it can only get better. I've been playing for a solid 2-3 hours a day since launch. I'm only level 19 which indicates to me that I am not very good at it. I see new players much lower level than me being much better than me in my team, but hey... I'm old and rubbish at games so it's to be expected.

The gameplay is largely slow paced, where creeping around the map is essential, as are strong team communication skills. There is very little of the john Rambo style play here, or call of duty players jumping around the corners and bouncing all over the place in what I would deem unrealistic. Thank you for not putting a jump button in. Most games with a jump feature are really exploited for this (battlefield 4) removing any element of realism that the game could have had. The rounds are short, and focused and they're over quickly which could be seen as a negative, however for me, that just impresses upon me how important it is to employ proper tactics, strategy planning, communication and taking care. Is it the most realistic game play out there? No, but these things certainly help it toward that goal. And when actual firefights break out, it can be amazingly intense and ultimately very rewarding.

The game is not really complicated and as many would say, if this was a flat screen game, it would probably fall flat (excuse the pun) but it has to be simple, because it's VR. Standard FPS control doesn't really apply here. You can walk in one direction, aim in another direction and look in yet another direction. Being able to aim your gun at a door way and look to check your flanks without moving your gun is a game changer. It adds to the immersion and realism no end. Being able to peek around corners properly without pre-defined character positions and being able to blind fire round corners is fantastic. As an FPS game in VR, this is fantastic and pretty much the only thing we have that resembles a proper, tactical shooter on the PSVR. It is immense fun but saying (and hearing) "just one more round" in lobbies for an hour or longer does get tedious. It's very hard for me to tear myself away from this game. It is very addictive and there is a constant personal objective to do better next time.

I would highly recommend this game to people who like proper tactical game play and not just run-and-gun shooters. Although microphones may not be deemed essential, a team with players all on microphone will always be at an advantage, and it can be a might frustrating meeting team players who are incommunicado. I'll play the game and then leave after the round has finished. I have met plenty of great team mates on this game and the community seems to be non-toxic, patient and forgiving. I was nervous before jumping in for the first time for the fear of letting people down, but I've had a great time.

Firewall is great but waiting in lobbies for minutes on end is terrible, waiting when you die for a few minutes, again, is not ideal. I love game modes with one life, as it emphasizes playing strategically but why couldn't there be team death match or something faster paced? Gameplay is amazing, very good attention to detail and graphics

It is set up to be great but it really falls

It is set up to be great but it really falls short (IMO) if there were some single player it would be amazing, but for now I think I'm done with it.

Firewall Zero Hour needs more support from a pretty large community of PSVR owners. It's understandable that it may not be everyone's choice of gameplay. With dozens of small quirky titles and some fully fledged AAA games that don't rely on interpersonal competitiveness, some players may choose to pass on this shooter. It's way too early to tell if the game will take off and garner the praise and community that it arguably deserves. Firewall Zero Hour is a dream for any shooter fan.
