The graphics are good, the guns feels right, its a fun game. so let me play it! i dont want to just wait and wait and wait... Why isnt there any rounds? there should be like 3 or 4 rounds that would make this lobby system okay. but one short 2 minute hide and seek and then its back to the main menu again. Feels like im playing a demo and have to restart everytime it completes.

This game could be so much more if it just wasnt all about standing there and waiting. if there is going to be so much lobby then have a gun range or something in the lobby. no its just a small room where you cant do much at all but wait for the next breath moment of fun...

This is the real deal folks. A great FPS game, sneaky and slow, tactical and intense. Compared to normal FPS-game you are so involved and your nerves are spiked.
It has minor flaws and balance issues, but it is a rather small company that has produced this title. If it can keep up with enough players for a long time, with developer support it could be hit.

Gameplay is fun when it works. Would have given it a 9 out of 10 but with the latest 1.02 patch it has become unplayable. Constantly getting dropped out of matches and lobbies. Spend 20 minutes just trying to get in a game.

Buy the game and the psvr, you won't regret it.

Cannot play the game. The new user support system is so poorly designed that two grown me. Could not figure out how to activate any of the menu items. There was no moving cursor generated by any of four separately used controllers. The game is unplayable.

This game has potential to be really great. There’s currently some issues with game hosts dropping out, not being able to play with friends, and with the aim controller tracking (the gun is higher in game than in real life). If these issues are fixed I think the game would deserve a 8 or 9 rating. I’ll update my review as time goes on. Really fun though!

I am playing everyday. Awesome game. It is like counter-strike vr. It has same online problems, For example; when the host left the game, 7 people connections can be lost. It should be like this; when the host left the game, second or third host must be countine the game!

Basicaly a mediocre game that vr experience makes it reign due to lack of good aim controller games. Fun to play but be prepared for a lot of technical problems even after patch 1.0.3. Countless disconects and endless waiting.

Firewall is great but waiting in lobbies for minutes on end is terrible, waiting when you die for a few minutes, again, is not ideal. I love game modes with one life, as it emphasizes playing strategically but why couldn't there be team death match or something faster paced? Gameplay is amazing, very good attention to detail and graphics

    Pros
    * It feels like a full game with plenty of room for expansion, its that good old grind to earn experience buy/upgrade your weapons, matches are short so even in failure you still feel like you are having a good time.

*The weapons look and feel great even giving PSVR's short comings in tech, the modelling for the maps, specialists and weapons are really good. Gun sounds are also spot on.

*It really pulls you in, you feel like you are part of a team and when everyone is on mic you start to feel a bit of kin ship.

    * communication and strategy is rewarded, even when you are dead and on camera duty you still feel like you have a part to play. I have been in matches where we were 4-1 down and managed to pull it back just by communicating where enemies were.

    Cons

    * Servers a bit rubbish at the moment, be prepared to be dropped a few times.

*Gun height takes some getting used to but you will get used to it. Bringing the gun to your head in game is chest height in reality but this is stop you from smacking yourself in the face.

    * matches should probably be best of 3, there a bit too much waiting in the lobby between matches especially if someone leaves.

*Speaking of the lobby, it really needs something to do between matches. You can spend half your time sitting in the lobby so it is one area I would love to see change.

    * Aim can be a little floaty and grenades can be tricky to track one they hit the ground and bounce, that may be more of a personal gripe though.

The gameplay is so cool, and with the aim controller it is incredibly satisfying and tactical. So it's a real shame this game has more connection issues than any game i have ever played. I am not exaggerating when I say you will spend the vast majority of your time waiting to start a game. It uses peer to peer connection, so you can guess how well that works, and there is no host migration, which means every couple of matches you will be kicked out to the main menu and have to wait for ages all over again. This is not helped by the long wait times to start, the 5 minute ready up timer, and then the long wai times for it to load the map. I really enjoyed this game but had to give up playing it as it was so frustrating to be kicked out every match, often midway through if the host left. This isnt helped by the fact the dev team are active enough to release endless nw micro transactions, but not active enough to fix all the sever issues and bugs. How interesting. I would say wait until the game is fixed and it will be great, but it has now been 2 years and nothing has changed. The gameplay is so good, the best on psvr, if you have played pavlov its basically a much simpler version, but my good is it frustrating, and the dev team do not care. They are still releasing battle passes, but not fixing the fundamental flaws.

This is my second week playing this and I cannot wait evenings when I got to play this. I havent had those problems people talk about "nipple aim" and waiting for game in lobby. If people dont speak in game, thats also ok to me. Of course its lots better if theres communication in team.

Playing video games since the early 1970's, and this is without question one of the most engaging and fun games I have ever played, on any system. I would go so far as to suggest that if you are a fan of FPS, particularly those that encourage teamwork, this is worth a PSVR+AIM purchase - maybe even a PS4 Pro. Yes, it is that good. And I am not particularly a fan of this genre!

Having said that, there are some issues (matchmaking is spotty, glitches in the item purchase menus) but focusing on these is really a non-issue at this point, as the overall experience itself is simply sublime.

    UPDATE:
So after a couple of weeks, I am lowering my score. The "sublime experience" I reported has become more a nightmarish one. Constant host disconnections before, during, and after matches have really soured the experience. This in addition to the game crashing (blue screening) and having random menu glitches. For a given hour of time spent trying to play the game, I have been lucky to get 5-10 minutes of actual gameplay, no exaggeration. The netcode supporting the online experience, vital for an online only game, is completely unfit for purpose. Here is a template for the kind of experiences you may have based on my own excessive play over a couple of weeks (I am ranked in top 200 worldwide, if that means anything to you):

    1. The use of Peer-to-Peer networking means that should the current game host decide to quit, for any reason, everyone is booted to the game menu screen. This also usually, but not always, screws up your ability to smoothly reconnect to a new host. You might join a game with 7 of 8 players, and the game disconnects before the final player has been selected, and then try 2-3 times to reconnect. That might be a good 15 minutes of staring at loading/blank screens (in VR no less). Sound exciting?

    2. When you finally get matched and a game actually starts, the voice chat is probably now glitched due to the aforementioned connection/disconnection issues, which means there is no team communication. Not good for a game than absolutely requires effective communication in order for your team to have a good chance at victory.

    3. The game then might end with your team winning (a fast game is over in less than 1 minute BTW), but before the victory/point scoring screen is reached, one or more players on the other side have rage quit and everyone is booted - no soup for you (or anyone else).

    4. Goto 1.

If you are lucky and have a stable host, you might get several hours of thrilling fun. But when you rejoin later you might then get a host who is AFK for days at a time, who cannot be kicked or booted, and you keep getting matched to join their game. Over and over. Thrills-a-plenty.

As an aside, another incredibly annoying thing about the game is the broken item/gear/character edit system. Some glitchy, buggy code there for sure. For example, in the first couple of days playing I was able to inadvertently select locked items due to overflow bugs, and this does not bode well for developers wanting to introduce paid DLC at some point. Not confidence inspiring in the least.

So, lesson for me - never give a review of a game, no matter how fantastic it seems, until perhaps a week or two later. Particularly an on-line only game. I wonder if many other reviewers/users feel the same now. To be fair, the game WHEN IT WORKS is absolutely thrilling. But, really let down by the bad design and poor code implementation. More worrying is that the developers have apparently given a cursory response to an overblown game balance issue many players were complaining about, but have said nothing about the more serious issues (i.e., the matchmaking, hosting, connectivity problems). I would still recommend the game, but be warned - there is considerable frustration to be had, made worse by the fact that the game (when it works) is fantastic.

    UPDATE 2:
So, following a small patch (that fixed the exploits to various contractor skills and weapon skins, and rectified some of the matchmaking issues) I am upgrading my rating. There are still issues, but the overall experience is great. No way is this a 10 beyond the initial thrill, but it certainly is one of the most compelling PSVR games. A definite must buy.

I registered for an account just to create this review. This is the best VR title I have played so far. It is masterfully crafted.

The Good: It is tactical shooting at its finest. The gun play is excellent as is the team work required to win games. The progression system has alot of variety, it is a little grindy but definitely rewarding. Tracking is decent when correctly setup.

Community is very mature and friendly (I'm assuming the additional VR price tag has removed the kids).

    The Bad:
Long wait times between rounds. Can occasionally be waiting longer than expected for players to join but doesn't happen that often, maybe 1/10 games you'll wait 5 minutes for someone else to join. I have been disconnected mid match about 5 times in 10 hours of play so this needs to be addressed. A few other glitches like XP disappeared and coming back aswell as credits doing the same, all easily fixed in an update.

A great title and one that will help sell the VR to reach more players, well done First Contact.

There could also be a ep or crypto bonus if the entire team survives a round in my opinion.

Firewall Zero Hour needs more support from a pretty large community of PSVR owners. It's understandable that it may not be everyone's choice of gameplay. With dozens of small quirky titles and some fully fledged AAA games that don't rely on interpersonal competitiveness, some players may choose to pass on this shooter. It's way too early to tell if the game will take off and garner the praise and community that it arguably deserves. Firewall Zero Hour is a dream for any shooter fan.
