I give this a 9 because it was something totally new and different. It is also way longer than the first dlc.
The new combat elements feel a bit clunky though. The music is more electronic style and I reallly like it. Aranea also was some hot sidechick ;)
This was worth the money (season pass) and in the end I spent 10h here I think .

Episode Prompto was an amazing addition to an already good game. Prompto is a lovable character and seeing his heartwrenching struggles from the player perspective is a great time. Music is amazing, character is amazing and the story gives us some much needed lore and backstory

Episode Prompto provides a really interesting, new, re-imagined combat system for Final Fantasy XV which is both engaging and fluid. Like the rest of the game, the music is excellent and definitely one of the highlights. The DLC has a Metal Gear feel which I really appreciated. Head and shoulders above Episode Gladiolus, with an interesting story, improved gameplay, and an open area that you can't experience in the base game.

Woahhh this DLC was a great improvement to the previous one
First off I really like how this DLC explores Prompto's origin and his feelings/fear of getting left out from his teammates. It's mainly a story about Prompto facing himself and it was interesting to see how he overcomes it
Adding on to this, the main reason Prompto can even face himself is ofc Aranea and she was awesome. She

She accompanies Prompto at about the half way point and you get to teamup with her for the rest of the DLC!! It was great seeing dragoon dive again :D

The combat system is really similar to the base game and not like Episode Gladious; I actually like this one way better.

Ofc the big change/addition is the shooting mechanic and I found it to be pretty smooth. Prompto is able to use sub machine guns, sniper, pistols and rocket launchers.. All these weapons enhanced the gameplay for me and it was actually pretty fun to use in combat

Prompto can also you use his abilities from the main game like the selfie shots, and that was a really nice feature; I kept wanting to do selfie shots with Aranea and she was in a few of my pictures posing with Prompto xD

    That was sweet :)

Another thing I really like about this DLC is there's a small open world area you can explore. It's really small but it does add a lot of value to the game. In the small area you can freely use a snowmobile and take off with Aranea to do various repeatable side quests throughout the day/night

Completing these side quests gives you upgrade points to your snowmobile and you can upgrade it's speed, jump, damage and stability.
There's also some attires you can collect while exploring and a Optional Trophy Boss which was pretty fun

The boss fights themselves were unique and it was pretty fun!

I liked the OST for this expansion; I think it conveyed Prompto's feeling's well ranging from this lonely and metal gear style music to a more upbeat Final Fantasy music.

The voice acting was on par to what we got in the main game and there's nothing much to say about that!

The last thing I really appreciate is like what they did with the last DLC, they added a time trial and Boss Fight against your Partner!

    Now here are the cons:

-The small open world itself feels way too small/restricted and there's not much variety to these side quests when you need to do it over and over again for your snowmobile

-The main concern I have for this one is I feel like Aranea should have more time to talk with Prompto like when resting in vending machines or by the campfire.. Gladious's Dlc had that and I kinda miss it here
------> Also the Bonus Fight with Aranea ended the same way with like Cor's except this time she only says like one line in the fight... I just wish there was more of a reward to fighting these bonus fights like an extra scene; not just an achievement xD

Other than that this is a big improvement to the Episode Gladious and I think Ignis's DLC will be the superior one out of the three after all these feedbacks! I enjoyed my time with Episode Prompto and pls make an Aranea expansion in the future; I'm interested to see her story :D

Again another boring game from Hajime Tabata, these guys always bring boring game. Another punching sand bag final boss, clearly he doesn't understand about RPG is and should be. It's time for fresh start for final fantasy, no more hajime tabata for a better final fantasy future.

The only reason to play this is for the story and Aranea Highwind. If you actually like Prompto's character it goes way more into his origins. Aranea is with you for majority of this dlc.

Gameplay is your standard 3rd person shooter plus Aranea destroying everything with her dragoon dive. The grenades don't target correctly and the manual aim clips on objects so you will be throwing

The level design reminded me heavily of chapter 13 and made want to quit. The level becomes open world later where you're in a snow environment with a sled to drive around. The side quests are just like the blue ones in the main game. The only difference is that they are yellow now, repeatable and time of day restricted.

At no point was Prompto interesting in FFXV; at no point is he interesting now. Clunky gameplay coupled with a story that literally goes nowhere make this steaming pile of garbage something to skip.

Prompto was my least favorite character of the main crew in FFXV, I liked him but I think that they didn't handle his backstory that well, in this episode they have the opportunity to show us more of the character's true feelings and motivations and still, I don't quite like "gritty" Prompto, his character feel cliche and other aspects which at least for me are more interesting weren'tPrompto was my least favorite character of the main crew in FFXV, I liked him but I think that they didn't handle his backstory that well, in this episode they have the opportunity to show us more of the character's true feelings and motivations and still, I don't quite like "gritty" Prompto, his character feel cliche and other aspects which at least for me are more interesting weren't used that much.

The gameplay is another issue, it feels empty, your shots don't have weight and also your movement feels clumsy, it sure feels like a game that wasn't meant to be played as a TPS. Now, I don't hate this DLC, as someone who really likes the base game (a game which has its fair trade of negative opinions) I didn't feel bored but I sure wasn't that bothered either.

Episode Prompto is the closest we've ever been to Prompto's true feelings, and this DLC greatly showcased his true emotions towards his pals. This DLC has hit me so hard because of how emotional and good it was, to the fact that it made me tear up too.

This is the development Prompto needed in the base game, I really liked this Expansion, but I wish it was longer.

This is the development Prompto needed in the base game, I really liked this expansion but I wish it was longer.

The interactions between Prompto and Aranea are great, they give a little bit of depth to their bond which was definitely needed.

Also the gameplay mechanics are decent, the shooting can feel weird but once you get used to it, it's honestly fun.

    Final Rating: "Good" ~ 7/10.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto plugs another gap in the main game's still woefully disjointed story, but a seriously shoddy mix of gameplay mechanics makes it a difficult DLC to recommend.

Short and unsatisfying DLC that makes the prior one better than it was.

Episode Prompto is a better DLC than Episode Gladio, but that doesn't make it great in anyway. The open environment is welcome and Prompto’s play style is unique though hindered by some questionable design choices. Episode Prompto doesn't enrich the XV experience in anyway. Instead of leaving excited for Episode Ignis I left hoping they would just move on to Final Fantasy XVI.
