Gold 5k packs and Bronze 400 packs have been removed to stop coin grinding. Starting prices for cards has been raised and discard prices save been lowered. So cards wont sell forcing you to discard for less. The level they have gone to to try and force pay to win is criminal.… Expand

    Long: I was waiting this game for some time, they said that the game is brand new wrote from scratch, more realistic (scorpion goal kick??), and all the hype around it made me to buy it, which now I regret it. For me this game it's a torture, lost all the rivals except 2 or 3, tried squad battles, more torture, also, they are forcing us to play online friendlies to complete long objectives, they know rewards are important in this game and we will spend time for useless modes. The only method to play it is in short boring passes, it's somehow discriminatory, as the players used to this methods in previous game, now have big advantage than players playing other styles. The opposing goalkeeper is like a wall, while mine is like an open door. Easy to lose the ball, hard to get it back. Those AI CBs are always near the ball, hard to score, while mine CBs drink coffee when the opponent is about to score. FUT is more pay-to-win than ever. A lot of duplicates from packs. A lot of bullies, players who maybe already spent money in the game, or they are really good at the game, and fifa shouldn't match with weaker players or beginners. I know I'm not a PRO, but not like losing most of the matches, the game won't me let to win. And so on, a lot of frustration, I could write kilometers. If they will patch and make it better, I will change my score as well.    … Expand

    I don't care how much you love football but please consider your existence. I can name a million games better than this pile of garbage. It says a lot when the majority of the community thinks the PS5 version is actually worse than the PS4 version which was basically a copy paste.

    Abysmal game, nothing new other than the sloppy basic programming of some career mode stuff. None of the actual game plays any better and nothing new on the looks either. Another number added onto the basic game of FIFA 15. Avoid.

    This game is not football. It blows my mind that EA after all these years still can't make a great football game. it generates income off a gambling machine. If Konami don't get it right on the pitch there is no hope for football games if this is out only option.

    I enjoy it. Im not huge into soccer but its fun to play and i dig career mode as a manager. I try to do scenarios like only players from whatever country the team I pick is in or only players under 25, etc. be creative in manager mode and its fun

    Legacy defending not working properly. Connection issues all the time. Passing in online mode is the worst I have ever seen and you can't score inside the box. Worst Fifa ever.

    Got Fifa 22 for PS4. Only scoring a 4 on the basis that the Switch version is abysmal and literally hasn't been meaningfully updated (other than players and kits) since Fifa 19 (which had bugs in the first place) so couldn't possibly be scored higher than the PS4 version which is bad enough in itself for new gameplay. Gameplay is good in itself (when not glitching) and feels realistic butGot Fifa 22 for PS4. Only scoring a 4 on the basis that the Switch version is abysmal and literally hasn't been meaningfully updated (other than players and kits) since Fifa 19 (which had bugs in the first place) so couldn't possibly be scored higher than the PS4 version which is bad enough in itself for new gameplay. EA have sold themselves out to microtransactions and have made it clear through the lack of effort they put into their games that they are only interested in FUT and appealing to those willing to spend more money than the £50 disc. You can't even play offline divisions offline now in FUT so the only option is squad battles or play with your friend. For that reason this will be the last Fifa game I'll purchase until things changed. I didn't buy it last year and nothing much has changed from the year before and year before that for the casual, offline player.
    The biggest frustration of all however is that even in career mode the game was running really slow and glitching as if it was being played online with a bad connection.definitely would not recommend. If you have a PC version, I'm sure you could download a player update patch for Fifa 21 and have the same experience as players playing this year's version. EA are rip off merchants and players need to stop accepting mediocrity.    … Expand

    VOLTA Futsal Mode is the best soccer video game I've played since International Superstar Soccer Deluxe in 1995-1996.

    Absolutely perfect in everything, mechanics, physics and movement. I am required to give a grade of 10.

    I hate EA and even like to criticize it, but I can't be blind. The game has many flaws, but that's an epic hit.

PS5 edition is smooth as well. Only thing is the everyone in Div 10 start to rivals is very very hard for the average player and with lack of quality rivals rewards sometimes it’s not worth the grind.… Expand

    Best FIFA in years. So much more realistic, the people complaining about the game are those who abused skill moves and pace in previous editions. The gameplay works better and you have to be patient and work on build up play.

    - lots of absurd bugs (the most astonishing one for me is when the game mistakes international duty for club games and you get the headline : „Club Germany won with club Portugal”. That’s a 0-day fix for me, yet it still roams free)

    What this needs is to drop the yearly release schedule and focus on microtransactions.

    But for that to happen - you, fans and buyers should drop the next game and show them what you demand.

    A few things that really annoy: menus are clunky and jerky, colour palette is garish, stadiums with sun/shadow on the pitch are unplayable as the ball and players disappear in the shadows, commentary is repetitive and cliched ('the atmosphere is electric' - really?), PLEASE bring back Martin Tyler, the layout within e.g. Tournament assumes players have no interest in reviewing their results in games played to date - it is truly awful - to simply see the results of your last few games is a fiddly time consuming mess where you can only see one result at a time then you have to scroll up/down through days and side to side through months to find the next one. And what is it with the absurdly clunky standing tackle?

    Really disappointing. Wish I didn't bother. If you've got any FIFA game since 2018, you've got FIFA 22.    … Expand

    The reality is people, we need to stop buying these annual releases or else its going to happen again, and again, and again.

    The defense becomes unbelievably terrible. It's just impossible to take the ball away from the running player. When you press X players just run near the opponent and don`t create pressure like before. I played FIFA 19 and it's a bit better than this new game for 70 euros. Typical EA.

You play the same match multiple times and it feels like you playing prime Brazil in one and a bunch of one legged Farmers in the other.     They say if you cannot cash out then it isn't gambling. Paying real money without knowing what you may get from it is LITERALLY a gamble. It takes away from the experience of knowing you are playing someone on a fair and equal level.

    It is a good game, FIFA games always are and they get the best licensing agreements too meaning you are unlikely to find a better experience on another game. Dear God I hope that changes soon. The predatory approach to milking players for all their worth is disgusting and they argue that if it is only a minority then it is no issue. It is a massive issue for any of those few players who are addicted and this includes children. EA needs to decide if this is a game for everyone and random card packs are like "Kinder Eggs" or if this is a windowless casino not at all designed for children as Mr. Bruzzo said in a Eurogamer article recently, stating outright that "Children should not be spending in FIFA". As a company they constantly change their argument to try and evade legal ramifications and quite frankly it takes what should be a good game and makes it into a cesspool run by people completely out of touch with football. They are simply trying to make all the money they can from individuals who are hooked.

    This is not a game, it is a leech. The executives actively deny and play this down and I feel so sorry for the developers who work hard to improve these games only for the greedy folks at the top to implement mechanics designed to unbalance the field and create a need to pay.

    Usually when you are playing friendly matches just for tedious objectives the game starts laging like cyberpunk 2077 mking it totally unplayable so basicallly EA kidnaps you 20 mins, 20 mins of pure agony, im not buying it never again dont care anymore

    This game is more or less the same as FIFA 21, with 1 exception, the gameplay is slowed down to an often painful level, making it almost unplayable, unless you are using a team with a lot of pace (like PSG). This is a waste of money for the same game made worse, do not give EA your money.

    Okay so this is the first FIFA I have bought in a very long time, over 10 years. Long enough to not be aware of how similar it is to the previous versions therefore that factor will not affect my rating.

    Firstly looking past the MANY bugs, this game is fun to play when attacking. It has real moments of creative fluency which can result in a wide variety of goals scored. I enjoy the way it plays in attack. It rewards movement and creativity. That makes for a fun experience. By no means perfect, fun though nonetheless.

    Unfortunately there is a lot more to football than attack. Defending is broken. Off the ball A.I is broken. Player positions in set formations are broken. Glitches and bugs in game, in menus, some of which render the game unplayable.

    Defence is all about holding position and timing the tackle. Unfortunately when defending, you control a single player (or two) and if you so much as make one slight mis-step then the attacker will walk through a seemingly stationary defensive line.
    If you are lucky enough to time the challenge right and win the ball at the edge of your box (and the A.I lets it happen), your midfield are all standing at the halfway line for some reason. Making a pass or clearance near impossible. This occurs without stopping when the A.I presses high, if they need a goal for example. Sometimes I have spent the majority of the game clearing the ball to face a wave of attack time and time again. It is unplayable when it is like that and it is like that in almost every game. Playing out from the back is near impossible.

    Also the game lags for some reason, offline career mode lag. It starts to slow up and judder when two players animations interact. It can do this seemingly whenever and it can last for any amount of time. If this happens you have to switch it off. A blessing in disguise.

    I gave it a fair chance, suffered through a full season. Overall after playing this title I would say my life was better before I played it. I now feel worse about my existence and I think I have developed IBS. Most of the time it feels a lot like the game doesn't want you to play it. All this for only £59.99.

    To finish on a positive, I have uninstalled the game and will never have anything to do with the franchise ever again.

    Given they are charging more than full price for a game they haven't bothered to finish and which is always on the edge of becoming unplayable, you would be silly to buy it. Don't be like me. Spend the money on medical waste, you'll feel better. I feel like people should be protected from experiencing this "game" by law. I feel like a victim of crime. That wasn't what I had in mind when I paid my money.

    It is an unfinished and broken game, a ticking time bomb of unplayability. It's without doubt a 0 rating. A player did chest the ball like a bullet, no trajectory, straight into the crowd though, which almost made me up it to a 1 for comedy value. Why should I though, this disgusting showing of greed and lack of effort deserves nothing in return.

    Although the game is the latest installment of the popular franchise of FIFA games, and is the official license of the aforementioned-- this feels like it's an absolutely incredible game for its time, if it was the early 2000's that is.     The gameplay changes every match, one game you're springing off passes as if you're prime Pirlodinho (yes I did just cross Pirlo and Ronaldinho) and then the next match your players can't find the proverbial lady to in an establishment of ladies, that alone is absolutely unforgivable-- but there's more. The glitches and A.i in this game are absolutely awful, with the famed kick off glitch where your opponents players stand around like statues whilst you twinkle toe your way passed their 90 rated defence as you take your kick off to score a very dirty bad tasting goal-- there is also the fact that your players randomly do things in the wrong order of which has been put down to button delay, there are 10's more unforgivable glitches and pure awfulness of this game but the one that takes the cake for me is the fact that if you are lucky enough to have friends and those friends are also masochistic in their gaming and agree to play rivals with you, and you're absolutely destroying your enemy-- I mean opponent to where they forfeit, you COULD possibly come away from that with one of you winning that match and the other recording a match loss, ending your win streak and costing you a division promotion (yes this has cost me promotion on multiple occasions, my friend who pretty much exclusively plays co op with me is in the division higher than me because of it).

    Summing this up, I would suggest not buying this game at anywhere close to full price, and waiting for it to drop to what it is actually worth which is MAYBE £20 at best. Also just a note, the keepers went from being amazing in this game for the first time, to absolutely awful brain dead Bambi on rollerskates. (The keeper stats don't actually matter, look for the hidden in game stat called REACTIONS, this determines whether a keeper has half a brain or no brain)

    There's just no consistency in the defensive gameplay at all because manual defending is dead. So often, when i play against someone, they usually just let the AI automatically defend for them. Keeping clean sheets is impossible when defending manually. And instead of actually fixing the defending, EA decided to make the goalkeepers extremely overpowered. The one thing you have no control over is the biggest factor in whether you win a match or not. Ridiculous.

    I've genuinely never played a video game that made me feel less in control of what's happening in the game than this. I didn't think they'd manage it but EA actually made a Fifa game worse than 21.    … Expand

The only drawback for me personally is a PSG team, which is unjustifiably OP, meaning (almost) every opponent you play in 'Seasons' mode will be with PSG. If not PSG, then Real (Vini), or Liverpool (Mane/Salah) - proving once more that the key toAn improvement from FIFA 21 in terms of gameplay.     Custom teams is a feature that should have been in years ago but has finally been added. I enjoyed this mode and was happy with what we got.     3. The ungodly lag between screens, pisses me off.
    4. The game needs innovation in matches, gameplay, cut scenes.

    This is an update (downgraded) version of FIFA 20. New players, menus, music. Same awful AI, same **** bugs from FIFA 20. I thought they would have fixed some bugs ... it's been 2 years. Even 50% of the full price is shameful. But hey EA loves our money on don't give a damn.

    FIFA 22 makes the leap to the new generation in a conservative way, with slight changes in its gameplay that lay the foundations of what the saga may become in the future. Lovers of football simulators will enjoy its fast pace and large amount of content.
