    The fact that I created an account in Metacritic just to tell how bad this game is says it all. I love football with all my heart and I play FIFA since 2009. I stopped playing after FIFA 18 because I felt EA wasn't doing much towards the game improvements. Forward to July 2020, I came across an offer for FIFA 20 so I decided to bought it in order to look at the current FIFA status.     A true disgrace of the franchise. They only focus on FUT where they can make money by loot boxes, even though the game itself is already 60 euro or more. What once was their flagship, career mode is completely destroyed: retarded post match interviews with 0 relevance to the game, even a toddler could do better. The youth recruitment is pathetic, with only 4 or 5 names per country (go forA true disgrace of the franchise.     Career mode
    Career mode has gotten a few new features, but the majority of these features get boring after a while. The only new feature that doesn’t get boring is the new manager customisation, but players will most likely not use the feature after they have already created their manager. The new press conference were fun the first few times you did them, but you just get the same questions and answer them all the same way you did the last 100 times. Player Morale and the new Player chat feature is completely broken. For example, I have a player that constantly complains about not getting enough game time (despite him getting more game time than a majority of players I have) but his player morale is still very happy. There are also broken glitches that ruin the experience. Examples of these glitches are; Multiple teams getting 100+ points in one season, Teams putting out their weakest possible teams in every single game, League lasts 60 games instead of the usual 38, the Champions and Europa League will stop working after a few seasons and many more ridiculous glitches. Career mode was so broken, #FixCareerMode was trending on Twitter early on in Fifa 20’s lifespan.

    Ultimate Team
    Let’s face it, Ultimate team is basically just an online casino. Microtransactions are one of the worst things to be brought in to the gaming industry. Now, I will admit that some of the new features in Ultimage Team are pretty neat, like new challenges, new friendlies modes and even a new battle pass. However, the chances of getting anything amazing in packs are very low and EA keep adding broken cards like Ryan Kent, Ben Yedder and Adama Traore. Plus, kit SBCs are sometimes extremely overpriced, and for no real reason. Also, Divison Rivals and Weekend League are tideous Modes that are just full of annoying players and No Loss Glitch merchants.

    Volta
    No one cares about Volta. It is such a pointless mode that barely anyone plays. Hell, you couldn’t even play with your friends in this mode, but you could play a dreadful story mode instead, which was somehow even worse than EA’s other sorry excuse of a story mode; The Journey.

    Pro Clubs
    Pro clubs has a little bit of a cult following. I’ll be honest, I don’t see the appeal. However, there are a lot of players who love the mode, but EA neglect it so much that there isn’t really any point of the game mode being included.

    Others
    There are a bunch of minor modes in Fifa like online seasons and skill moves, however nobody really plays them. The Soundtrack is pretty good, but I think every Fifa game has a good soundtrack. The create a player mode hasn’t changed much and The Women’s football mode still has only 2 uses; play as them in Kick off and play a women’s international tournament.

    Conclusion
    Even though I think this the best FIFA since FIFA 15, it is still a colossal failure. Just play PES 2020.

    Don’t enjoy gameplay, engine isn’t great for FIFA , very aimed towards pay to win however it probably has never been easier to get better players with sbcs and rewards at times however some of the requirements for squad builders are baffling . Never improve enough stuff on pro clubs or career mode.

Bugs in the career mode from 5 years ago STILL haven't been fixed, and more and more focus has been shifted to the Ultimate Team feature, which is redundant after as year as the online feature stops releasing cards after the next release. Until EA stepI hate to be another one of the reviewers **** on this game, but it is difficult not to when you are paying full price for a roster update.     This game is a piece of a **** Full of flaws, and GAME RUNS WITH OBVIOUS MATCH FIXING. None of their excuses to blame players in EA HQ website makes sense at all. FIFA has become a embarrassment for sports and games at the same time. If EA wants to blame users one bit, they need to fix these flaws at minimum.

    1. Fire crews who are responsible with this ****ed up servers or let players know how they are going to improve the server/game play at least. And it should not be something like showing ping number that is always same while players always experience different game play.

    2. They should inform players about how they are going to deal with cheaters.

    I strongly believe FIFA 21 will not change much from FIFA 20. They will ONLY focus on more efficient MATCH FIXING and PACK SWINDLE I would definitely recommend reading this review before you buy FIFA 21 especially when you do not have EA's data center near your location.

    I was a fan for many years, but not anymore. Totally, poor arcade game. Those who seeking a realistic and immerse simulator I honestly recommend PES. Enjoying PES20 this year.

    I was given this game for free by a friend. I played two games and uninstalled it. The most scripted, slow, turgid and boring game i have played since fifa 19. Fifa has been rubbish for the last five editions. Complete joke of a game and EA are amongst the worst developers out there. Dead game dead company.     This is actually not only the worst FIFA game i’ve ever played, but FIFA 20 is the worst game I’ve ever played in general. This is the first game I’ve ever deleted from my hardrive. I mostly play offline Career and attempt to take a bottom feeder to the top of the football world. I’ll save you the gripes about career mode being the same for half a decade and rants on why my 5th choice prospect CB is requesting game time for the 23rd time this season rant and tell you what really kills this game. Gameplay! Sliders do absolutely nothing to address the gameplay. Headers are pointless and crosses are worthless. The locked on receiver has zero clue where the ball is. Defense is rubbish and the ball magically always bounces to the AI. Players running into each other in hilariously clumsy cluster you know what is delightful. The game suffers from offline Lag I wasn’t even sure was a thing. Try not to explode when attempting a skill move for the 4th time before I can get Neymar to do a simple back heel touch. Even better imagine having a split second to get off a shot or pass thru on goal only to have your player take the worst first touch or watch the game stumble to find the animation for your lad to get a shot off before being mauled. Bet you never expected a defender to disposes you from behind as his leg goes through you to knock the football. Want your striker to make a semi intelligent run with your tactics set to Get In Behind, nahhhh. Maybe you prefer your shot to go the opposite way you shoot, or your pass to go to the worst possible recipient when clearly aimed at another player. What if your lofted thru-ball down the flank behind the defense was directed to the center line, or if every shot in the box was blocked by your teammates or the opponents hand with no way of turning on handball for career mode. Maybe you like taking the people’s elbow from Thor on the chin or a career ending boot to the knee with no foul given only to get a red card for a harmless tackle that doesn’t even take the opponent down. Best of all when you’ve dropped Your 27th F bomb of the day in your 0-0 80th minute match in which you’ve had 59% of possession and 21(13) shots on goal, you’re greeted with FIFAs patented scripting. Wycombe Wanderers magically morph into Prime Barcelona. You watch helplessly as they Tiki Taka down the field avoiding 4 tackles and sending a thru ball literally thru your CB’s legs to an unmarked ST and Exhault in glory as your GK makes an unbelievable 1V1 save to save the match!! I should say that I barely sprint to, I'm always jogging from one point to another, but I stay lose stamina anyway. What really annoys me is that my opponent Ai seems to always have stamina to spare, even though they are lower rated than me. Those guys will sprint for the whole match, and still have 50-60% stamina at the end. Like what kind of bull crap is that? It's just so annoying to see my stamina getting drained like I am pouring water through a sifter, while the Ai’s stamina goes down like sand in an hourglass. I'm sorry for ranting, but this game is just so broken and annoying, and thankfully I had gotten it while it was on sale, because if I hadn't, I would have rammed my head through the wall nonstop out of anger.… Expand

The game has been nice to play during EA Access (prior official release, for 1 week) but unfortunately it appeared that the meta was awful.     Quite simply the worst fifa game EA have put out in the past 2 decades. Sluggish mechanics, glitches galore and arcade style animations with embarrassingly obvious trigger points, in what is claimed to be a vastly overhauled 1v1 engine. Gameplay is sacrificed for hyper-realistic faces, accessories and brands. Avoid and hope for better with 21.

    The game is the same thing every year and the physics have got worse in so many ways. They haven’t updated pro clubs since the game got introduced in the fifa series and just pour all of their money into ultimate team. Terrible game.

    it is very difficult for me to come here to rating a game, but this is worth all the time in the world to say that it is the worst fifa I have ever played. It's amazing how they can make a game worse instead of fixing last year's mistakes. They tried to copy PES 2019, which is the best football game so far, and failed miserably.

    I am playing fifa since fifa11, I addicted to this game but especially in fifa20, it was totally disapointed, I don’t know the reason maybe because of ai, game decided to who will win or lose, your play skill and talent can’t change that rotation so If it will also continue at Fifa 21, sorry EA but I will not play this game, it’s only create anger attacks

    The first fifa i've ever bought.And this is the worst fifa ever by far.I'm a first division player and even i cant control MY gameplay because this game's script intervening everything you do.Players NEVER pass the ball to where you want.Servers are horrible,i've played lots of online games but ea's servers are clearly the worst even tho they make tons of money every year.

    Awful game. The difficulty is absurd, the gameplay is broken and boring. The CPU shoots like a gun. The new features are boring like press conference. Some players have the same face of FIFA 10 (look at Joaquin or Llorente). The career mode is stupid, there are teams with 12 left backs and the signings are unreallystic.

    This game is utter **** I'm so glad that I bought it when it was on sale, but TBH it doesn't deserves that 5 bucks that I paid for it. I'm just a casual FIFA player, I doesn't really play any Ultimate just some offline games, but God damn the offline play sucks. The AI is ridiculous. I didn’t like the last of us 2 too, but apart from the story, everything was breathtaking and still everyone cried about it, I know why we all fell in love with the first game was because of the story, but in the new one they did an amazing job building the world for years and it looked amazing, and killing people was fun, but EA gives us the same crap and people are like “loyal to FIFA” or “well, can’t be a Fifa game without the funny ****” like nah bro I paid money for that, it shouldn’t be this bad. Just remember you are paying the same amount of money on Fifa, the same amount of money if not more if you are one of them addicts as you would pay for fun titles that have been worked on for years and years, millions upon millions and hours of work and sweat and tears and then you dare complain if there is the slightest **** but when it comes to Fifa I guess your “loyalty” to a company that doesn’t care about you is beyond reason.     I wouldn't recommend anyone to play this garbage.
    There's been almost no change to the gameplay since past few years and their focus on fut mode has engulfed rest of the modes.
    Volta is a rare light in the dark but it's just not enough.
    Their only priority is fut mode since it makes them money and rest of the modes simply don't.
    Even the gameplay in fut mode is scripted and a 4 year old could distinguish that.
    Squad battles on a higher difficulty are an absurd joke. Even the bronze players tend to play like prime Zidane and Ronaldinho. You would need a team of legends or very high rated players (90 Plus) to stand a chance of winning.
    Rivals is just another chalice of poison where some scrawny kid with bank balance will most likely throw it in your face and make a mockery of your skillset.
    As much as it hurts me I swear I'm never buying a fifa game again and I sincerely hope the trajectory on which PES is leads it to newer heights, hopefully leading to the necessary demise of fifa franchise.

    Seasons and most games are rigged and scripted against you. The speed of the attacker of the opponent is almost always faster than your defenders. FIFA has unfortunately gotten worse with time. Perhaps it's a tactic they are using to make people keep playing it or to release future versions in the hope that people will purchase it thinking that the rigging functionality is removed.     Worst fifa I have ever player every year it seems it requires less skill to do anything and is more and more controlled by the AI. I want to feel like my decisions will interfere with what happens in the game with having to play against the AI SYSTEM. you get times the opponent doesn't even need to defend the AI mechanics will so it for him

    career in fifa for one player - a piece of code created in fortran changes the complexity of the game only one thing - wants your teammates dumber than the enemy. not to mention that EA forces people to pay the price of a full game for DLC

    Fifa 20 is probably the worst Fifa of all time and it deserves every bit of hate. The only reason why i won't give this a zero is because of the great ultimate team content. The gameplay is absolutely dreadful. At least you can still have fun with your friends but not because the gameplay is good, no , just because they are ur friends and its fun playing with them.

    FIFA 20 is a better football simulation in overall compared to FIFA 19, but it’s still lagging behind its main competitor greatly. EA is losing the race to Konami, at least in this generation of consoles, where they used to dominate.
