    Its tactical, its fun, its ambitious, and its entertaining.

    And its DLC...................

    The concept is great and it is executed beyond amazing, but the struggle with DLC weighs it down.

    Why can't companies just release a fully fleshed out game? A game that could of been great, is completely ruined by them charging you more money for what should be in game features. Modern gaming is a joke. Then you have to wait for upcoming content? Here is an idea wait to release the game when you have those maps and levels done so i am not playing a quarter of the intended game.

    Playing games for over 20 years now, I feel its time to add some perspective.
    This game is very well constructed. Everything from the hunters to monsters feels well balanced. moving from 1st to 3rd person is nice and makes the experience/maps more dynamic with every play. The progression of characters has a sense of accomplishment without feeling too "grindy". Despite rumblings on what    Playing games for over 20 years now, I feel its time to add some perspective.
    This game is very well constructed. Everything from the hunters to monsters feels well balanced. moving from 1st to 3rd person is nice and makes the experience/maps more dynamic with every play. The progression of characters has a sense of accomplishment without feeling too "grindy". Despite rumblings on what this game lacks in story, it makes up for in gameplay. The 4 v 1 experience does not feel so much forced but rather needed. A group of hunters must defend a planet and its inhabitants from "monsters". The ability to set up a preference of which class/role you would like to play adds to the diversity of the games experience. With 12 hunters, 3 monsters, and 12 maps with multiple modes/modifiers this game actually pack quite a punch in terms of content compared to other games published lately, and not so much as a punch to the wallet. It might not hurt to mention that future DLC content will add to this.

    Graphics are not exactly top notch but that should never detract from the bottom line: "is the game fun?"
    My answer is yes, the 3GB patch on day one only helped the game with load times an matchmaking and should not be viewed as a problem but rather developers making the game better before you even play it. As far as the on-line/off-line options; offline, bots take on the roll of other characters that you can takeover with the touch of a button keeping single player as a somewhat standalone testing arena before you hop online and go PvP.

    The experience that Evolve offers is different and not for everyone, but it does seem like it deserves a look if you like PvP, first person shooters, or controlling a monster with the ability to wipe out an entire team of hunters. Hopefully none if this sways you from the game, I hope you enjoy it as much as I am.    … Expand

    I can't feasibly support a game with this much DLC in order to play the damn game. anyone who gives this game a positive score is essentially ruining the gaming industry.

    The game is really boring after the first half-hour. There are not enough hunters and monsters to make the game diverse and the ones they put in are simply uninspiring and can be found in basically any moba out there. Matchmaking is also really bad and the lack of a voice chat in game makes playing hunter a really bad experience.     A boring pile of overhyped horse crap, that will have its player base die faster than Titanfall. Feel free to throw your money away if you must have this game. Feel free to throw even more away with the countless micro transaction options it offers.

    As expected a very boring, Repetitive and dull game with almost zero aim for innovation, I'm very disappointed I thought to myself okay maybe this game doesn't need a story mode because it has an outstanding Multiplayer and Cooperative experience but that wasn't the case it's a 10$ worth of content and I'm being generous here.....     Solid game. People are mad about the DLC problem, but it isnt a problem, just some skins. Plus the devs are releasing maps and modes for free in the future. Awesome game when you play with friends.

    Tried my best to enjoy this game but it is just the drizzling **** So many things wrong with this game like horrible AI, long matchmaking times, worthless tutorial, having to spend hours playing to unlock other characters in a class. This game is a good game underneath all the crap but why waste your money.

    Ok i need to calm down, after about 5-10 minutes of buggering, you can get a funny shooting, not much    Game can be fun even if its really messed up and unfinished. Seriously, there are way to much things that keep bugging me everytime i play it.     If this game is played with friends then it is pretty decent. By friends I mean 4 other FRIENDS. Playing with randoms and AI is just boring and stupid. Avoid.

    The gameplay is amazing, the gamemodes are great for variation and really make you change your playstyle. This is the 1st game i have thoroughly enjoyed playing every class. I have noticed afew balancing issues so far but they have already acknowledged the problem and are working on it. As for the whole DLC problem everyone has it really isn't that bad, they have skin DLC but that'sThe gameplay is amazing, the gamemodes are great for variation and really make you change your playstyle.     This game does fall into one of those niche categories of games that might not be for everyone but it isn't one of those DLC games that everyone is calling it. DLC is only for weapon skins, 4 new hunters that aren't released yet and a fourth monster.     Aside from that it is a great game, new mechanics that take some time to learn and master. It is a multi-player game but you can play all the game modes offline if you don't want to play with people and get better at certain classes before taking it online.

    I do have to say the lack of a campaign with an actual story does hinder it a bit but the little snip-its you get on each characters back story does provide some interesting insight into who they are and why they are here. Though I do wish it had more and I do find myself feeling a little let down on the amount of content but if you have 3-4 other friends it does offer a bunch of fun swapping roles.

    Either way I have to say it is a great game and with the free DLC map packs and the promise of new modes I think it will still be fun and not just a DLC money grab like people think.    … Expand

    Honestly couldnt even get passed the tutorials. Had already found several dislikes with just the monster tutorial alone that kept me from even continueing. Not to mention during the whole tutorial it basically gives you the entire concept in 5 minutes or less. Leaves no mystery or wonder about it what so ever. 1 monster 4 hunters, kill it or kill them.     evolve is the biggest waste of $70 i will spend for the rest of the year, played it for about 2 hours and after it just became boring a repetitive, the graphics are nice and the game play is smooth but evolve just becomes boring after a couple hours.

    save your money this game was bust

    it's a pretty game, and in the matches that don't end in 5 minutes you'll spend a good chunk of time running back and forth in these beautiful environments. The game is pretty much a running simulator with occasional monster fights.

    worried about not getting the fully 60$ experience? well worry no more because you can PAY to fill in the gaps with the tons and tons of dlc that evolve was"built from the ground up" to support. Like different colors for your guns only 2$ each!

    This is a wait for a 30$ game of the year edition type game because right now, it's definitely not worth the Triple A game price.    … Expand

    Incredibly well done game. The graphics/audio are amazing. The people rating this game down are upset about the DLC scheme. You can play against all the monsters without purchasing a thing, I personally don't see the dlc as a problem.

    By far the most horrible game I have played in a long time. I got suckered in by the hype and clearly paid-for reviews by game "critics" and made the mistake of buying this pos on psn so I can't sell it. The concept and graphics are cool on the surface, but this game is straight up GARBAGE. DO NOT BUY!!! You've been warned.

    I like the idea of the game and the focus on team play but to be honest there is so much wrong with the game. The imconsistencies in match durations. I get games that last 3 min because the guy who plays the monster has no clue what he is doing. On the other hand sometimes we can't find the monster for 10 min the game is boring. Then if the monster is maxed out about 70-80% of the time we lose. It's just very hard to win at that point. The game needs more modes and more things to do not just hunting the monster. It needs some objectives like L4D. And then the DLC. There are two season passes one for monsters one for hunters. Seriously guys you want to milk us the gamers that much. The game was 40£ to start with. Then the both season passes 45£.
    The joke about DLC: The Video Game is true to some extent. Is the game any fun? Sometimes yes but more often it's frustrating, boring and dull.
    Not worth the full price at the time. Wait for a sale or maybe find a cheap used copy.

    Cons:
    - Lack of content (limited to DLC) for example skin packs, season pass, with an exclusive content for a early buyer.
    - No meaningful story around main events (just randomly generated evacuation "story" and very lame ending) characters dialogue gets repetitive over time.
    - Character leveling does not satisfy enough, and only goal is just to reach the elite level, which unlocks elite skins for the characters (other skins only available with real money)

    Evolve is a enjoyable game, but it gives the constant feeling that it could've been better without the microtransaction (I can't blame on turtle rock studios, 2K had control on them and decided how content was splitted) Evolve had potential to be the next ground breaking competitive FPS shooter.
    The game broke apart when it got too repetitive and doesn't had any interesting story around the maps, characters or even monsters. e.g. From where monsters came from, characters talked about "secret agencies", abandoned planets that got dark and nobody didn't came back alive to tell what happened.
    Evolve is a great fun for awhile, and I hoped I could understand more about the story and the world, but huge gaps around maps,characters etc.) ruins the experience a bit while you play.
    You can only speculate what happened and create lores around maps and hunters.

    When first started this game it was verry fun. First time playing this type of game. Good graphics and fun innovation for me. Afther playing couple of times it became boring and the servers don't work well. This makes me diapointed and a waist of money. Game was good for 10 hours. afther that it just became dull.

That being said I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed this game, although I probably wont really play it again. The shooting mechanics are great, and the way 2k allows you to switch weapons with ease is fantastic. Not once did I encounter any chugging. I loved the characters for their sense of humor. I found myself laughing a lot at the playful banter that happens before each match starts and during. One of the things I didn't like was the extremely boring sequences in-between fighting. To me, a lot of each match consisted of run, fight a little bit, run, fight a little bit, etc. The running part usually lasted a lot longer than each fight sequence. Another problem I ran into was not so much the game's fault, but my team mates. I highly suggest you and your close online friends play together and keep it at that, because the whole "lone ranger" thing happens to still be ingrained in most multi-player gamers. There were several instances when me and 2 other team mates were tracking the monster and the medic would run off the opposite direction. This is especially stupid because there is ABSOLUTELY no chance the medic alone could take down the monster. They are there to heal players and create weak points on the monster so that the assault class can do more damage. The trapper traps and the support class acts as the team's "buffer". That is, what I think, makes this game as good or as bad as it is. Its highly rewarding when you and your team mates win a match because it takes precision in attack and communication, and most of all team work. It is just too bad most players (that I played with) just do not understand this concept.… Expand

    Una interesante propuesta que no funciona en las partidas en línea. El juego no funciona cuando tienes jugadores que no saben que hacer, el médico ataca al monstruo en lugar de ayudar al cazador. Largos tiempos de carga. Otro problema son los DLC, si quieres todo tienes que pagar 200 dólares.

    I wanted to like this game. Oh man, I wanted to like this game. It has a great premise and had lots of potential. But there are simply too many things wrong with it. There is very little content, plus the parts that are actually entertaining and engaging are episodic at best.
