    They got me again! Seems like it was over a year of hype but they got me right from the start. This one burns because the developers are great. This game is basically two boring games merged together. You either play as the monster and have to run around for about 15 mins evolving then quickly destroy the power relay.     Very Repetitive game with not much replay-ability after a certain point. And $100 worth of DAY 1 DLC? Which means it could have been included in the game and made it better. You would think when launching a new IP that devs and publishers would want to put out their best product, and not bend you over right out of the gate!     All of the content seem to have been taken out so they can charge extra for it, and wha'ts left is worht about £15 whats left is ok but no where near any kind of quality they were building it up to.

    This is a decent F2P game, but the problem is that this is not Free to Play , instead you pay full price for this game and then you get hit in the face with a brick, when you wake up from your coma you realize that you you've wasted $60 on a game that is fun for 30 mins then becomes as dull as a potatoe.

    Like I said, if this was F2P then it would of been fine even though I dont really care for free 2 play games, I like to pay $60 and get the full experience right away ( not these days anyway)

    -Outdated mechanics.
    -Not amazing graphics for a 2015 game. -No Story. -Money Sucking game with all the DLCs and pay 2 win system,a monster for 15$ a skin for 10$ a character for 15$ all that and the game is just released WTF!!!. -Day one patch 3GB (it's your fault for paying them early dumb-heads). -You'll get    A typical hyped game just like many others (Destiny,Titanfall..etc).

    It's fun few hours, but honestly, i can't recommend it at this price. The content is kinda poor and the list of DLCs already available give me an headache. It should have been a F2P, that's a major disappointment.

    please don't waste your money on this game if you want a game with any kind of depth be it story or game-play. I don't feel this was worth 60$, felt like a freemium game with the ENTRY PRICE of a full AAA title.

    -Little variation with game-play -Laughable "campaign" basically a 5 match set with bare bones story or even exposition little cut scenes and the same cut scene at the end    please don't waste your money on this game if you want a game with any kind of depth be it story or game-play.     Game can be fun even if its really messed up and unfinished. Seriously, there are way to much things that keep bugging me everytime i play it. Starting right of with this terrible introsequence that keeps playing every ** time alongside with this bs talk that no one want to listen too...

    I have chosen to not purchase this game. Reason being all of the negative feedback on your DLC model. You have stepped into EA territory with trying to drain consumers wallets. Destiny will also go down a doomed path except for LOYAL fans. While DLC should be used to "Add-On" to the base experience in the future, it should not be an option to enjoying what should be a complete game likeI have chosen to not purchase this game.     Evolve has a great concept, but is horribly executed. The design is bad, there are balance issues, and the DLC fiasco has set a new low standard for the industry.

    I am returning it to Gamestop for store credit TODAY! Monsters are way OP. You spend all the game running around chasing the monster only to have it "Evolve", turn around and kill everybody in the team in less than a few minutes. It got very old and very boring really quick (2 days)!! Don't waste your money.

    Worth a weekend rental, but it won't last much longer unless you manage to find 4 friends with the same time schedule. The gameplay gets repetitive very fast.

    Also customers should punish this DLC policy, where "full game" has only half of the monsters and the other half are paid DLC.

    Honestly couldnt even get passed the tutorials. Had already found several dislikes with just the monster tutorial alone that kept me from even continueing. Not to mention during the whole tutorial it basically gives you the entire concept in 5 minutes or less. Leaves no mystery or wonder about it what so ever. 1 monster 4 hunters, kill it or kill them.     This game is very cool and innovative kappa. U can't even 420 noscope in this game. The monsters don't even lift. Overall GG, but it lacks the MLG sustenance. If it had some MLG elements like the ability to noscope monsters, I would rate it 8/8 m8. Don't buy this.

    I wanted to like this game. Oh man, I wanted to like this game. It has a great premise and had lots of potential. But there are simply too many things wrong with it. There is very little content, plus the parts that are actually entertaining and engaging are episodic at best.     evolve is the biggest waste of $70 i will spend for the rest of the year, played it for about 2 hours and after it just became boring a repetitive, the graphics are nice and the game play is smooth but evolve just becomes boring after a couple hours.

    save your money this game was bust

    Nice graphics and all but my eyes strained for trying to stomp those bug like hunters. No campaign nor practice mode and load times are really slow. Gets boring after a while.

    Somewhat fun game when it lasted, failed to keep anyone interested in the long-term. Obscene al la carté DLC practices (aside from the death of the game) makes this is the worst thing I have ever purchased. Ever.

    Should have been free to play.

I got suckered in by the hype and clearly paid-for reviews by game "critics" and made the mistake of buying this pos on psn so I can't sell it. The concept and graphics are cool on the surface, but this game is straight up GARBAGE. DO NOT BUY!!! You've been warned.

    This is probably the worst game I have played in a long long time. It could have been great but there are only 4 main characters and in the first hour of playing I could only choose two missions. Definitely a title not worth the $60. The environment is nice however but this again like the rest was over hyped and fell flat on it's face. This game gets old after about 10 minutes. What's worse is the game relies heavily on teamwork, which lets be honest is almost impossible with strangers and no mics.

    This game feels like it took no more than 6 months to create. The other time was spent making sure that once you have spent your $60 you'll have to spend more. $15 characters? $3 skins? If you wanted the complete game it would cost you close to $200. That's right. You read that correctly. $200 for a game that literately offers nothing in terms of game play.

    Go a head and buy this game if you enjoy wasting $60 for little content and a game that gets boring quick. It's not my money. But please remember this when the next game you love is released for $60 and you must by the ending, or see a screen pop up that says "please pay $29.99 to continue playing" as that's what you're telling the developers your comfortable with.

    I would understand if this game offered a lot for your $60. I would. But as of right now this game is a massive joke and spits in the face of gamers as being acceptable.    … Expand

    Why can't companies just release a fully fleshed out game? A game that could of been great, is completely ruined by them charging you more money for what should be in game features. Modern gaming is a joke. Then you have to wait for upcoming content? Here is an idea wait to release the game when you have those maps and levels done so i am not playing a quarter of the intended game.

    It's a cool game, but, you pay $60 to play a small part of the game and if you want to get the rest of it, you need to pay more $85 for the rest of the content. It sucks, but you can get complete games for the same price, if not less.

    Una interesante propuesta que no funciona en las partidas en línea. El juego no funciona cuando tienes jugadores que no saben que hacer, el médico ataca al monstruo en lugar de ayudar al cazador. Largos tiempos de carga. Otro problema son los DLC, si quieres todo tienes que pagar 200 dólares.

    This game is a prime example of everything wrong with the game industry today, a boring game flooded with microtransactions and not much content in general, complete waste of £50, I'd rather play Cod: AW and Destiny for 50 hours than play Evolve and I hated both those games, Evolve left a funny feeling in my stomach of sickness, very disappointed as I thought it looked incredible at first

    All the DLC, monsters, hunters, skins plus an actual campaign, would be about enough content for a 60 dollar game, but as it is, you pay 60 for the game, 15 for one of the next monsters, I'd assume 15 for the 5th monster, 6.99 for each set of monster skins, and like, what was it, 3.99 for the weapons skins    Ok, so the game is fun, aside from really requiring a group with headsets.

    All the DLC, monsters, hunters, skins plus an actual campaign, would be about enough content for a 60 dollar game, but as it is, you pay 60 for the game, 15 for one of the next monsters, I'd assume 15 for the 5th monster, 6.99 for each set of monster skins, and like, what was it, 3.99 for the weapons skins (basically types of things normal games just have, being withheld on day one behind a pay wall), plus 25 bucks for the next 4 hunters, then i'd guess half that for the last 2 hunters. and THAT'S assuming you only buy all the bundles, it's more individually.

    Listed like that, you're looking at nearly 200 bucks for all the content that would maybe be worth 40-50, total joke.

All of us, go to university, have lives, hobbies, jobs, families etc. When I do eventually get the chance to sit down and play a game for an extended period of time, which isn't often, the chances of all my friends being online at once for a long enough period to play a game like this is absolutely slim to none.

    This game is so absolutely multiplayer, that you can almost forget the idea of playing alone. Playing with strangers in a game like this just never works out. Soon as I played it, I realised the game was a shell. If you wanted what was inside the shell you'd have to pay money for DLC and microtransactions.     Evolve is one of those games that I want to love. The idea is novel and I was hoping for so much from this game. In reality the game is a recipe for high blood pressure and/or self harm. It is totally unbalanced, especially if you want to play as the monster as I did. Four vs one should have been okay if the developers had taken appropriate steps to create an equal playing field. But alas that is not the case. If you have any interest in playing the monster, especially the first one you are lumbered with, the game becomes an absolute farce. Four hunters equipped with weapons and gadgets that can track you quickly, shoot you from a distance, drop hell-fire missiles on your immediate position, tie you to the spot with plasma chains, lay mines and throw up a dome plasma cage that traps you in a tight combat position, unable to escape, with those four hunters who can deploy all of those weapons against you, doing just that. Meanwhile you have no ability to regenerate health (other than by evolving - which you can't do under attack). You can attempt to regenerate armour by killing and eating wildlife, but you can't eat it when you are being shot.

    What can the monster do? Well you can throw a rock which does pretty much no damage at all to the four hunters. You can swipe them, rush at them, do a plunge style attack or breathe fire at them. None of which deals damage anywhere near fast enough to get rid of any of the hunters in time to save your health bar sufficiently to make the game fair or even reasonable. And guess what, once you've thrown a rock or spent one of your other pointless powers, there's an infuriating cool down period to be waited out before you can do it again. Even when are breathing fire, you can't dish out the standard slash style swipes at the same time. No sir, one at a time please and just wait your turn for the next go. Meanwhile, all four hunters continue to relentlessly bombard you with their myriad of weapons at the time time.

    And then there is the wildlife. When you are being attacked by the hunters, any creatures in the vicinity can have a pop at you as well. Very helpful and not in the least bit annoying.

    Playing as a hunter is easier than the monster, but is invariably more boring. Unless you and your buddies are all hooked up on mic's speaking to each other, forget any preconception that you will feel part of a team. You will wander about, looking for where the other team players are going and will follow like a little sheep until you come across some action (unless you have chosen the tracker and are lucky enough to have been chosen to play the tracker by the server - yes, you can't even play the character you actually want to play most of the time in multiplayer as only one of each character is permitted in the round at any one time, unlike COD for example where you can choose who you want to be, what perks you want to have and stick with that to gain expertise and skill with that character. None of that here sir, choose the monster and you might play the medic. Choose the assault class and you might end up playing the tracker.)

    Yes I prefer single player modes to multiplayer. But here both are as bad as each other. There is no forgiveness and nothing to tempt loyalty other than the grind of levelling up to achieve some extra perks or another monster to play with. Is it worth it though?

    This game is SO disappointing and frustrating on so many levels. The most prominent emotion I am left with after 8 hours of tedious play is, and I regret this yet it is true, utter disdain (I nearly said hatred) for the developers of this utter pile of tosh.

    Think very carefully before you part with your cash for this. I can not think of another game in my 30 years of gaming experience that is as unbalanced, as unfair or as enraging as this.    … Expand

    Bad broken poorly executed gameplay. Bugs, bugs, bugs. Invincible shields, spawning as a random critter incapable of attacking. I've fallen through the ground countless times.

    Each update makes the game worse, as if they had a complete game that they took parts out, polished the rest, and with every piece they put back, new issues arise. I especially dislike how the framerate can sometimes drop to 1 for no reason... on a console. The acknowledged bug list went two months after release without being updated. This is the most critical time to let the community know you're working hard on bug squashing, instead the bug list went completely ignored... for two months. Please tell me how they're supposed to fix bugs if they're not even acknowledging them. It gets worse...

    And you're like, well the game is only a year old, surely they're going to keep working on it... No. Just no, because Turtle Rock has already begun hiring for a new unannounced IP that will NOT have anything to do with Evolve. A year later and the developers have already abandoned this game.

    I spent $85 on this game at release, $60 for the game and $25 for the season pass, not including tax. Three months later I traded it into Gamestop for $8. The cashier said, "I'm surprised you lasted this long".

    Not sure why the Metacritic score is so high, but this game gets boring fast. It's too simple and has no story. If you enjoy brainless shooter then you may get something out of the game, but even then likely only for an hour or two. And what is with all of the DLC! Damn, I feel ripped off! I bought it today, and will likely trade it tomorrow. Disappointing.

    The gunplay is boring and stale and loses its edge after an hour of playing.

    This game is Destiny all over again, and it's sad. Avoid it completely or if you did buy it, trade in your copy for another game.

It's easy to make that free specially if you are going with the billion dlcs model... but you all don't need to worry because what really changes the game and add diversity to your gameplay(and not much in the case of hunter because the most part are just stronger versions of the basic hunters you don't have to unlock) can be bought through awesome DLCs, all of them wonderfully priced as just 25% and 14% of the game price for new monsters and hunter(each unit of course, 2k has deep pockets to fill). It is so awesome, so much fun, so much content...but not. Oh and also the already lacking content is partially locked in the beginning because they know only the innocent players grinding can keep this mess alive for more than two weeks. It's a shame psn is not willing to offer me a refund. Don't make the same mistake as me.     For 60$, you are not buying a complete game. Day one has a lot of DLC content that can be purchased, similar to apps from your phone. Basically, it's bad business to make a consumer pay full price for a game at 60$ and on top of that use a free to play business model, charging for everything.

    The dlc wouldn't be a problem if the game was actually worth 60$. It's utterly bare bones. What depth? The meta of this game is as shallow as a raindrop. Little to no aiming skill is required considering you're shooting at, well, a big ass monster. Every monster has only 4 abilities. Abilities are simple, largely unoriginal, and casual friendly (in the worst of ways). The idea of the game may seem neat, but too often you play the player, not the "game." Besides, even though other modern fps' out there are not inherently asymmetrical in terms of team balance- I frequently find myself in 1 vs 3+ scenarios, so, nothing too innovating on that front. It's really the hunting experience that is the most unique- and its a bore. At least they were realistic about that. Coupled with average graphics, too little game modes, repetitive map themes, stupid a.i., and borderline worthless single player action- I'm hard pressed to say this game is anything other than a failure w/ some shallow fun attached. I highly recommend waiting to purchase despite player count drop (skill gap increase is actually minimal imo).    … Expand

The problem w/ asymmetry, at least in this game, is that individual player skill dictates the outcome of the game too drastically- staying alive and playing well matters a bit less in games designed for balanced teams. Either you play with friends, or the game is a far too often a nightmare of frustration. Also, the game in general is, well, too frequently a sci-fi sprinting simulator. It might seem not so bad to watch, but playing it sucks. Total resident sleeper. Combat is flashy, but not deep (as either hunter or monster). Modes didn't feel all that special to me, I really wish there was a monster vs monster at release. Honestly though, my biggest beef with this game is that there simply was not enough content to justify the price. The game felt stripped and empty. Not necessarily for dlc purposes, mind you, but hollow nonetheless. Unlike others who expect readers to simply take their word for it (as though some content isn't valued subjectively) I urge any potential consumer to investigate more into what the game has to offer for its price. As is now, I'm giving this game the lowest score possible b/c if that's the price this game is to sell for, where is my other 3/4 content? Missing to be supplemented l8r as if I'm being treated?     If this game is played with friends then it is pretty decent. By friends I mean 4 other FRIENDS. Playing with randoms and AI is just boring and stupid. Avoid.

    This game was such a let down. Definitely not worth the $60 that I paid for it. Within the first two games of I knew it was going to be boring and not much to do. It's the same repetitious gameplay as the monster. Run like hell in your first two levels and eat as much as you can, and become nearly unstoppable by the time you get to your final evolution.
